In celebration of The Paper Players’ 100th Challenge, each member of the Design Team perused the previous challenges, and selected one of their favorites. I selected Challenge #17: A Sketch Challenge. This was my first challenge as a Design Team member, so it is a special challenge to me. We are asking our participants to select any past challenge and create a card for it. I hope you will hop along to see what the other members of the team selected. At the end of the challenge, one lucky participant will be receiving all of our cards as a little “thank you” for supporting us!
Here is my original card which appeared on September 23, 2010:
And here is my new one:
The finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide x 5-1/2″ long.
Need a card in a hurry? This is the card for you!
- Texture! Want a quick and easy way to add pizzazz to a clean and simple card? A Textured Impressions Embossing Folder does the trick. My folder of choice for this card is Stampin’ Up!’s new Argyle one.
- Face the Facets! Stampin’ Up!’s new Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons add classy sparkle! The centers of the largest size are just pearl-fect for adding a Large Pearl Basic Jewel. Coloring to coordinate is a breeze with a permanent marker.
- Pretty Papillion! A Raspberry Ripple Butterfly from Papillion Potpourri graces the center square. Of course, I just had to add pearls for its body.
- Bow down to the Bow! A Whisper White Organza bow gets a punch of color from a snippet of new In-Color Stitched Satin Ribbon!
I hope you will hop along to see what the other members of the team created. At the end of the challenge, one lucky participant will be receiving all of our cards as a little “thank you” for playing with us!
Don’t you just love the new Argyle folder? I debated on whether to use the Fancy Fan folder, but I thought the argyle one looked really cute with the butterfly! What do you think? Won’t you let me know in today’s comment? Your comments are important to me and I do read each and every one of them. I know I have been remiss in responding back and thanking you for the wonderful comments you have been leaving. But we can blame that on…you guessed it…Lexi Lou!

Gorgeous ribbon treatment. I am going to try this. D
Beautiful card, Anne! I love the new Raspberry color you’ve used on this card, gives it an elegant appearance. This is a great sketch (your original card is so cute!) and the sweet butterfly stamp is delightful. I do like the embossing folder you used but I think the Fan ef would have been equally as lovely.
Well, Ann, I didn’t think I liked that Argyle EF, but you sure changed my mind on that! What a beautiful card with all that embossed white space!
Sooo pretty and elegant! I love it.

What a great way of displaying the 100th challenge – the old being very cute and the new just clean and classy! Wow, great cards for both. I had to read about the bling – I totally missed the faceted buttons in the catalog. The colored pearl is perfect! I love the polka dot embossing on the butterfly background too. That bow is just the topper!
Cute photo of the two all worn out from playing.

Gorgeous!!! I did not get that particular EF but I am loving it here! Your double-layered ribbon is quite pretty along with your faceted button embellishment! And of course, Lexi steals the show!
Gorgeous card. That ripple is such a rich looking color and with the white it is outstanding. Love the unique look of the bow. Perhaps you should tell Lexi she will have the “chore” of drying dishes if she wants to play with the towel. Love the picture of Lexi with Brody. Hope he is doing well.
And those pups, omgosh…are they precious! who is the protector of Lexi of the two?
Wow Ann do I love this card! I love the 3 pieces. It took me a while to figure out the bling and how you did it…then to go on to the next piece…I loved that. Such an intense and lovely card. The bow is amazing. It is now a tie for me between pearly ann and bowie ann! haha
Both cards are Gorgeous. Love that bow and works so well with the card

Ann, congratulations on 100! You are really *versatile*! Your snowman card is bright, perky, and cute. And your butterfly card is simply elegant! I love the argyle embossing. I think it blends really well with the DSP used on the butterfly and the linear threads on the beautiful ribbon. You always do a superb job when adding bling!
Thanks for the pic of Lexi and Brody! Pups can be *so* playful. But isn’t that part of their charm! LOL

Breathtaking! Everything goes together so well. I’ve had this funny thing about me all my life – I don’t like red cars – unless they have white convertible tops. Something about this card brings back that crisp, clean, exciting contrast – that red car with the white top : )
