And Lexi Makes Three…The Twins Gain a Sister

Burlwood’s Unlike Any Other  (“Lexi Lou”)

Sometimes when one door closes, another one opens…and so it is with little Lexi.  Last August, I asked a Boxer breeder acquaintance if she would help me select my next show dog when the time came, knowing that it would be several years down the road.  Although I did not know her well at the time, I summoned up my courage to ask for her help.  She gladly agreed. You can imagine my surprise when she contacted me a few weeks later to see if I would like to have a puppy from an upcoming litter she was going to have in April 2012. She was going to entrust me with a baby girl sired by her multiple best in show winning international champion.

When asked why she would select us for such a little treasure, she said she was impressed with the Twins…that they were in beautiful condition and so very loving.  She said she could tell that we were the type of family she wanted for her puppies’ forever homes.

Kim and I discussed it, and we knew that we could not let this opportunity pass us by, even though we would have three dogs on the show circuit.  And then it happened…Brody’s cancer.  Despite the fact that the vets removed it all, we have made the extremely difficult decision to retire him from the show ring.  Brody will never be an AKC champion, but that will not lessen the fact that he is a beautiful, beautiful boy and that we love him dearly.

And so the fun begins…again! Welcome to our world, Lexi Lou!   Until next time…

  6. Lexi is too adorable for words! I can hardly wait to read her posts and see her pics on The Stampin’ Schach!!!

  7. Holy Dog got it! This pup is gorgeous! I just love those floppy ears, though I know they can’t stay. The pics of the little wrinkly bum is SO adorable. Awwwww I just want to cuddle Lexi Lou. And it looks like Muffy Lin and Brody have taken to her completely. Or else they are thinking “triplets – UGH!” You know you are going to have to change your book to “Triplet Talk!!!” haha. Congratulations…I am so happy for you. What a premonition you had! And I think that Brody will be very happy being home with you and Kim and snuggled up at your feel while you scrap. Brody’s life was go go go wasn’t it. Maybe this was Brody’s way of saying “mommy, I just want to be home with you – can I huh huh? I’m tired” After all, now Muffy Lin won’t have to complain to Mom when Brody brags! She can be top dog for a while whilst Brody tells Muffy Lin how much fun she had making cards and choosing all the colors, while she ate the brads when mom wasn’t looking!!! It’s all G-d and I am joyous for you, Kim and Brady. How is Brady’s music career going? Is he pleased with his job? How is he feeling about the new triplet? Has he been home to see her yet? xox

  62. A new baby! Congratulations to the Schach family!! What a beautiful blessing! Guess Muffy new all along that she was going to be welcoming a new little one…just in a different way than expected. I’m looking forward to hearing the ‘tails’ you will have to share now. I can just picture Lexi covered in pearls. : ) I’m certain Brody is happy not to be the baby and immature one in the family now. The fact that he can’t be a show dog anymore doesn’t lesson your love for him. Just like our human children…win or lose…we adore them. Keep us up to date on your beautiful family, Ann.
