Freshly Made Sketches #33…Betsy’s Blossoms

Freshly Made Sketches is having a Design Team Call.  Some of you may be familiar with this challenge and their talented group of designers.  They  are looking for clean-lined creations.  Unlike clean and simple challenges, they encourage lots of detail and embellishments, as long as a clean look is maintained. They avoid distressing and torn edges, and create with lots of white space and clean edges. I decided to try out, using one of my new catalog preorder sets, Betsy’s Blossoms.  I hope you enjoy the new products which I used in creating today’s card.  And please wish me luck as I try out for the Freshly Made Sketches team!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips: Clean
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide x 5-1/2″ long.
(New Products Used:  Betsy’s Blossoms and Itty Bitty Banners Stamp Sets, Comfort Cafe DSP, Midnight Muse Card Stock, Summer Starfruit Card Stock,  Midnight Muse Ink, Bitty Banners Framelits.  Although Itty Bitty Banners is not a preorder item, it will be available in the new catalog.)
  • Butterflies and Blossoms!  The large Blossom image from Betsy’s Blossoms was inked with Midnight Muse and stamped three times.  It was then fussy-cut and layered, using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Summer Starfruit butterflies, created with the Beautiful Wings Embosslit, draw attention to the different levels.

  • Bitty Banners! The “Congratulations” sentiment from Itty Bitty Banners was inked with Cajun Craze and stamped onto Very Vanilla card stock.  It was then cut out using the new, fabulous Bitty Banner Framelits.
  • Comfort Cafe Coordination!  The Comfort Cafe is serving up delicious helpings of yummy Designer Series patterns! Look how fabulous these two patterns, (one in Summer Starfruit and the other with Cajum Craze, Midnight Muse, Pool Party, Soft Suede, and Summer Starfruit hues), coordinate with each other!

I did have the  opportunity to use the new firm foam stamp pads when creating this card, and I can tell you that they are awesome! There is no comparison when it comes to the ease of inking up a stamp.

I hope that you enjoyed the new catalog product peek and my “clean” card.  As always, your comments are important to me, and I do read each and every one.  And remember, if you have questions about the cards that I create or the techniques that I use, I am only an email away!  Wish me luck with the Design Team application.  Until next time…

(If you do not currently have a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, and you would like a FREE copy of the new Stampin’ Up! catalog, please email me.  I will send you one as soon as I receive my supply.)

  2. Ack! You are applying for when I’m on break. 🙁 I wish you the best of luck but I’ll be sad if you are on the team and I don’t get to stamp with you.

This is a gorgeous card! I love the peek at all the new products. I’m on a budget and trying to behave, but cards like this make it so hard to resist!

  12. What a lot of fussy cutting, but it was SO worth your effort! Love that new stamp and what you did with it.

  13. Wow what fussy cutting on that flower but it was so worth it on our end! It is gorgeous with the layers and I love the pearl and those little butterflies was just the cherry on top! That banner inked up looked pretty special too since you couldn’t distress it! I think I am liking that new Nuse blue color. That DP almost looks liked stitching the way the chevrons are done. Great job as always. Keeping my fingers crossed. If you don’t get picked, well, that is their loss!

  14. I can hardly wait to try out the new sets and the new ink pads! The clarity of the stamped ink is brilliant. I don’t see any of the “imcomplete” ink which seems to plague a heavily detailed stamp. This card has me anxiously awaiting my order of new products!

  15. Thanks so much for the peek. I love anything floral. Sorry I have not been able to comment this week. My mom had a heart attack and has been in ICU, etc. Today she is back at the nursing home. Hopefully I can return to my somewhat normal routine. My son from Boston is here as well. Must say you do clean very well! D
