It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players! This week the talented and ever-so-sweet Nance Leedy has a delightful sketch challenge for us. I opted for a quick and easy card, letting the adorable Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper amp up the cuteness factor for me. I hope you enjoy today’s card.
This card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.
- KISS! When using a busy and bright paper, like my favorite pattern from the Summer Smooches collection, Keep It Simple Sweetie! A simple image from the Bright Blossoms stamp set, framed in a Rich Razzleberry Oval Designer Frame, is just perfect when used with the coordinating Designer Series Paper. And don’t forget to add a little bling in the form of Basic Rhinestones!
- Snip and Curl! Although I used “Get Well Soon” from Thoughts and Prayers, almost ANY sentiment would work well with this design. With a snip and curl, transform “blah” to “ah”! I simply free-hand snipped a “V” with Paper Snips on one end, and curled the other using the Round File from the Distressing Essentials Kit!
- Double the Delight! A double Daffodil Delight Seam Binding bow completes the card. Snip the tails completely off…keeping it simple!
So there you go…quick and easy, bright and cheery! Please let me know what you think in your comment today! Your comments are important to me, and I make certain to read each and every one of them. And don’t forget, if you ever have a question about the cards that I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away!
Coming up next week: More Retired List Retrospectives AND my annual Birthday Blog Candy Blowout! Until next time…

Super cute! Love the bright colors….I just worked with this paper last night! Bright is definitely outside of my comfort level but it’s a nice change!

What a beautiful use of the Summer Smooches DSP…it’s such a great background paper. Love the oval frame and the Daffodil seam binding is so bright and cheery! I definitely love my Bright Blossoms stamp set!! And, my favorite part of the card has to be the giant scallops!
Ann you really rocked the sketch this week! I love the bright fresh colours and really love how you curled up one end of the sentiment. That double bow is to die for too!
I just love this card! Gorgeous DSP and colors – so pretty!
Done it again! Super cute card.
Yuppers, this is absolutely “smooch-tastic”, Ann! Look at those bright and fabby colors and I commend you on the free-hand “V” snip for the banner. You have n idea how much paper I have sacrificed in the sake of the perfect banner…shameful! This is bold, bright and beautiful! (Sounds like a new soap opera name, huh?) Hope you are off to a great start to your week! 🙂
Ann, that Daffodil Delight pattern is just perfect with the smooches. I really LOVE this card. Absolutely gorgeous.
Hugs

I love this ds paper and the yellow ribbon. It justs says “Have nice day.!” So cheerful.
This is a great card. Don’t you just love that paper?
Definitely a KISS card, Ann! Love the colors and the Summer Smooches may soon become a new favorite DSP of mine. Love how you spotlighted the vase using the oval embossing frame. Miss seeing your blog posts – things have been crazy busy here… it’s that time of the year for me again as I’m on the road for work and rarely home. 🙁
What a bright and cheery get well card even though it sort looks like an ET type creature in the vase! I had noticed that on someone else’s card before. Must be the “eyes” to it! Love that bow! I guess I am going to have to try it sometime.

Beautiful Ann! So bright and cheery and perfect for a get well card. Love this design and your simple stamped image. The rhinestones really top it off. I need to try a double bow without tails sometime. Yours is SO pretty. Be sure to let us know how your girls weekend went. Hugs!
Ooh, this is so sweet! A happy get-well card!
Fun and hip! Love this new paper and stamp set, you have made it shine Ann! Love the little wave on your flagged sentiment.
Just love all the bright colors! So fun & pretty. You could easily use this for any occasion. Do you find that the designer frames are difficult to use? I’ve resisted getting them so far since I’ve heard they can be a bit tricky. Thanks for sharing such a fun card today!
OK, is it just me? Every time I see that Bright Blossoms image it looks like a little alien peeking out from the vase – LOL!
I like your quick and cute card! Great job!
So colorful! A perfect get well!
So darn cute Ann!! I love the bright color for a Get Well card. I also like how you did the scallops at the bottom of the card.
Hugs

Beautiful color scheme! Love this sketch too – off to play!
Ann how sweet this is and so cheery! Love the smooches DSP and it works great for a focal BG too. I hope to try a double bow too, your’s is so perfect. Love the pearls on the flower buds in the oval. Hugs.
Bright and beautiful! That new seam binding is delish – I will have to try a double bow – yours looks great!
Beautiful card Ann. it’s so happy and cheerful, it’s sure to make the recipient feel better. This paper is devine, the layout awesome…you really rocked it!
Great sketch and you done a fantastic job with it and totally different then your usual card making and yet it’s nice to step ‘outside of the box’ every now and then.
Great job on the card all the way around. Looked for more pearls but just spotted the 2. :}

I love it! You did a fabulous job with the sketch! Love the bright, cheery colors! This is one of yours I can actually re-create without too much trouble (I think)!
You do clean and simple just as well as vintage! I love the paper you featured and the color combination is fabulous! Love the yummy double bow too! Thanks for making my sketch sing! 🙂
Cute cute cute. Love the Razzleberry as the main color accent.
Simply beautiful, of course! I do see a couple of your signature details. And I love the pairing of the two pieces of dsp you chose. I have seen way too many card with more than one of the busy papers from this collection and I like that you chose one busy and one calm pattern. So much easier on the eyes and easier to see what is actually on the card. You have done a magnificent job with this card. Thanks!
Love your card. How can you go wrong with that paper?
For some reason I really like that sketch – and you did a beautiful job with it, as usual, although not your usual style : )
