Quick and Easy Gift Box and Card

Have you ever needed just a little something for a friend’s birthday?  How about a decorated matchbox with coordinating card?  Stampin’ Up!’s Matchbox Bigz XL Die, which is the perfect size for a few pieces of yummy chocolate or a piece of jewelry, takes on even more pizzazz when paired with a small gift card and matching envelope.  This easy to make gift card was inspired from one featured during a Main Stage presentation by Donna Griffith at the Milwaukee Regional.  I made a few little changes, and added Basic Pearls.  The emphasis was on keeping this little ensemble quick and easy! I hope you enjoy it!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips: Vintage Gift Box

The gift card measures 3″ x 3″.

  • Go with the Faux! Faux Sueded Peach Parfait flowers are the perfect embellishment for a Peach Parfait Matchbox! Three flowers were punched using the 1-3/4″ Scallop Circle Punch.  A hole was then punched in the middle of each. The fibers in the card stock were broken down by repeatedly folding and unfolding. In addition, they were curled over the edge of  a bone folder.  Once the paper was softened, each scallop circle was separated into two layers. The layers were then stacked and held in position with a small brad. After spritzing with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch, the flower was shaped.
  • Easy Peasy Three-by-Threesy!  The “Frame” from the Sale-A-Bration set Elementary Elegance was inked in VersaMark and stamped onto Peach Parfait card stock.  It was then heat embossed using White Stampin’ Emboss Powder! Basic Pearls enhance the Calypso Coral Happy Birthday sentiment, also from the Elementary Elegance set.
  • Envelope Envy! A 5″ by 5″ square of Sale-A-Bration’s Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper was transformed into a custom made envelope in seconds with the new Simply Scored Diagonal Plate
  • A Video View! For more information on making custom envelopes with the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate, watch this video from Stampin’ Up!

  • The Ol’ Switcheroo!  In case you are wondering, I did switch out the Poppy Parade Bow for a Pear Pizzazz Bow.  Which do you like best? Any guesses as to which one I prefer?

I hope you enjoyed today’s project.  The Milwaukee Regional was certainly inspiring and I have much more to share.  But, what could be more inspiring that talking with Shelli herself! Boy, do I feel short!

As always, your comments are important to me, and I enjoy our chats! Remember, if you ever have any questions about the cards that I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…

  8. This set is absolutely adorable! And I’m going to go against the grain and say that I like the Poppy Parade ribbon the best, just because I LOVE Poppy Parade! That flower is awesome! You look wonderful there next to Shelli, what a great pic of you two!

  9. Love the colors you used – this is really pretty! And you look great with Shelli 🙂

  10. This is great! I like both so I will gladly take which ever you decide not to like as well! I LOVE little boxes and tins. Hint, hint and even a bigger hint! Just kidding! That flower is just drop dead gorgeous. Love the whole total package. The pear pizazz just sort of pop out a bit and go with the leaves but like I said, either are fine and would look good at my house! Oh, and by the way, you aren’t short – a lot of people are just taller than us! Remember taller people are there for our disposal if we need something up higher than our reach!

  17. Oh, Ann, how pretty these are! I love little sets that match. I like the orange bow best. On this set I prefer batching to contrast. You picked a great color! I have been hearing orange is the new in color for this season.

  18. PP all the way, Ann! This is a gorgeous set..and how cute is that pic from regional?!?

  19. Thanks for sharing an interesting and appealing project. I am guessing the Pear Pizzazz bow, because the leaves are pear colored and, it does provide a contrast.

What did you do with the matchbox? It looks like a belly band, but around the outside? I like it!

  27. So cute! i think I like the Pear Pazzaz bow better…only because it reminds me of leaves for the flower. Speaking of flower your flower is so pretty.
How nice that you were able to talk to Shelly. I can’t wait to hear or see what you learned at the Regional!

  28. One of my really good friends from MN went to that regional. I think it was her first. You look great next to Shelli. I am liking your little gift set but have no idea which bow you would choose. I would select the Pear Pizzaz cause I like the contrast in color. D
