It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players. This week the talented Jaydee is hosting a theme challenge: Spring! And what says Spring better than Butterflies and Blooms! I hope you enjoy my clean and elegant Spring card!
The finished dimensions of this card are 4-1/4″ wide x 5-1/2″ long.
- Razzle Dazzle! Rich Razzleberry Field Flowers sparkle with the addition of Dazzling Diamond centers! I love adding glitter with Stampin’ Up!’s Two Way Glue Pen. It’s my favorite way to glitterize!
- Pearlicious Papillons! What better way to add elegance to butterflies than with Basic Pearls!
- It’s Bow Time! A beautiful bow is the perfect finishing touch to a clean and elegant card. Satin Ribbon works best for adding a touch of class, and is easy to work with!
- Less is More! Look at the difference between my first card, with three butterflies, and my finished card, with two. Although the third butterfly is gorgeous in itself, it is too large and throws off the balance. In this case, less is certainly more!

The large butterfly overpowers the design |

The design is now opened up |
- What’s Your Angle? Look at the difference changing the angle of the larger of the two butterflies makes! Once again, it is all about the balance!

This card will be winging its way to Jasmin Arakawa, Brady Schach‘s accompanist. Jasmin is extremely talented, as you will see if you check out her website. And speaking of Brady, he did a fabulous job Friday evening performing the Jolivet Concertino with the Western Illinois University Orchestra. To top off the evening, Brady was the featured soloist during the Orchestra’s performance of selections from Bizet’s Carmen. I hope to have a recording available later. In the meantime, I would love to share Brady’s publicity photo, which was taken by KimAnne Photography. She does excellent work!
I hope you enjoyed today’s card, and that you will check out the rest of what the design team has created for you. As always, I do appreciate your comments! Of course, if you ever have any questions about the cards that I create or the techniques that I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…
Beautiful card! I often struggle with cards off balance because of either too many elements or not enough. Thanks for showing the difference. And your son, Brady is very talented!
LOVE this CAS card, Ann! Saw it over at Paper Players, when I hooked up my card. (I mean ‘linked’) Yours was top of the list and it just hit me on the head!
Please tell the secret what do you eat or drink before you walk to your stampin desk… You are simply AWESOME… just can never be satisfied or left uninspired when I visit your blog… You are truly GIFTED…

I love this card, Ann! The flowers are gorgeous and the textured card stock makes such big difference.
I adore this card SOOOO much Ann! This is one of my favorite stamp sets, although I really haven’t used it all that much *hangs head in shame* I REALLY appreciate your extra tips and comparisons on what works and what doesn’t (although all your different versions are FABU regardless of what you say, lol 😉
Thank you so much for inspiring me!
Beautiful card. The details are so simple and add so much.
Thank you for visiting my blog and commenting on my card. Enjoy your week.
Ann this card is just beautiful! I thank you for the little tips on angling and “less is more”. The card is so elegant in those colours and the big butterfly was certainly not needed. Love it all.
Love the colors, one of the prettiest cards I’ve seen. TFS
Another stunning card! I am totally in love with Cherry Cobbler. Love the pearls on the butterfly! :)))))))
I am impressed with the talent that Brady has and look forward to hearing him. By the way – very handsome young man.
Woof, woof – sleepy tail wagging to Muffy and, sigh Brody! Sigh!!!!
Beautiful – light and springy! Love the photo of Brady – kudos to him!

Beautiful card Ann ~ you must be SO proud of Brady ~ and I do have to agree with you about the less is more! Great card…another one to CASE! Thanks for sharing and enjoy your day!
Ann, your card is so gorgeous! The colors are so striking…I so love Rich Razzleberry! And, the glitter in the center of the flowers – beautiful! Thank you so much for your warm welcome as I join you and the rest of The Paper Players team! Thank you for always inspiring us with your work!

Gorgeous color combination (oh, I love that ribbon!) and I do agree the 2 butterflies were better than three.
So wonderful for Brady to be the featured soloist!! It must be so thrilling to see your son succeed in his chosen field. Congrats!
Oooh, I hope you saved that third butterfly for another extra special project. Absolutely gorgeous, Ann! You, my friend, are a “Detail Diva”! You know, I never gave that stamp set a second look but now it’s slowly making it’s way on to the wish list. Ack!
Great photo of Brady, too. Can’t wait to hear the recording! 🙂
Beautiful card as always Ann.
Great picture of Brady as well. Quite the handsome young man you have there.
ColleenB.
This is so beautiful, love it
So rich and so elegant, Ann. That bow is delicious as is the rest of your card.
Your Brady the Boy certainly is handsome! Congrats to him on his performance!
Congratulations, Brady. Awesome photo.
Beautiful card. Love the popped up flower, glitter, and stunning butterflies. As gorgeous as the third butterfly is, I do like the card better w/o it.
Yes, I agree about the two butterflies vs. the three. The bow is superb as always. Also enjoyed Brady’s picture. It looks like he has a pearl in his ear. He must be like his Mom in that he likes pearls, if that is what it is. Probably not.
Definitely inspires dreams of spring. Beautiful color choices. How proud you must be of that good-looking and talented son of yours.
It’s a beautiful card! Love the way you have the flower extending out of the rectangle layer. And I think both of the “after” changes you made were perfect.
I don’t know what your husband looks like, but seeing that upclose picture of Brady, makes me think he takes after you. 🙂
This is a gorgeous Spring card, Ann! Love the colors you used and, of course, the wonderful sparkle on it!
Brady looks like his Momma! He is a very handsome and talented young man!
Well, this is a stunning clean creation! Love the different looks with the different butterflies! And how handsome your son is! TFS!

Is “glitterize” even a word? LOL! This card is just FABULOUS!!!
Congrats to Brady the Boy on a job well done! His photo is just GORGEOUS!
Such a sweet card, the blinged butterfly and those sparkly centers just scream spring!!! Love the photo of Brady, congrats to him!!!
Yet another beautiful creation, Ann; love the color combination, the sparkled layered flowers, the bejeweled butterflies, all topped off with that gorgeous bow! I also like the flower placed slightly “out of the box” and with only the two smaller butterflies. I will bet that gorgeous larger butterfly is soon destined to be a choice focal piece!
Thanks for sharing the wonderful picture of Brady: A Man and His Passion! You are right, his accompanist is very talented, as is Brady! Just watched their YouTube clip. Have a great day, Ann! Hugs

Hi Anne!! A Texas Hello!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE this card. Wow!! So glad I got to meet you in San Antonio.
Ann, once again a beautiful card. I really like this stamp set and don’t use it as much as I would like. Congrats to Brady, you must be a proud Mama.
Fabulous Field Flowers. I love this set. Spring has sprung all over.
xo, Marian
Pretty card. Definitely better without the big butterfly. Did you happen to try any other colors of butterflies? Just curious. Love how the one flower is stampeed out of the box sort to speak! I usually am not big on glitter but that really is a cool element to the centers – I really like that touch there. Then, there is that big rich bow – simply gorgeous!
Great publicity photo for your son! Can’t wait to hear him play some more.
Chris R. from Iowa
Absolutely beautiful. I love all the little bits and bobs that you have added. The glitter, the pearls and the popped up flower. Just the perfect touches.
Vintage, clean, no matter you can do it all! Love the colors you’ve combined here and the way you’ve popped the third flower off the side. Gorgeous!
Thanks for the lesson on angles and how much to add to a design. This card is beautiful! I love the colors you chose! I would never have put the Melon Mambo with the Rich Razzleberry on my own. Brady’s photo is awesome!
Ann, I am loving your CAS cards… you always manage to bring rich, luscious colors, fabulous detailing and little hidden extras to your CAS cards. So, still the Schach touch but with CAS lines. Absolutely gorgeous. You are right, the third butterfly did detract a little from the rest of the gorgeous detailing. Love that picture of Brady… and his own publicity shot. Wow. That’s cool. You are so right to be so proud.
Hugs
Jaydee
Beautiful, elegant card!! And as much as I love butterflies (and the COOL pearl design you added to it), I agree….it REALLY overpowers the card! The little butterflies just accent it nicely! :O)
Did you happen to get my sympathy card?
Ann this is so gorgeous. I love it and colors are fabulous! Wow. I also LOVE your design tips. I awalys learn so much, so thanks for always sharing thoses. Your son’s accompanist will love this beauty. Congrats to your son too… talent must run in the family. hugs.
Beautiful card. I like it w/o the large butterfly, too. Congrats to your son.
Congrats to Brady on his great accomplishments.
I love your card – less is more in this case.
This card is very, very beautiful!
This card is the bomb!
Just beautiful Ann! This is one of my favorite sets! I agree, it looks much better with just the two butterflies and changing the angle of the larger one!
What a wonderful picture of Brady, what a proud mom you must be! I have to tell you that he looks very much like my oldest nephew!
Hi Ann! Beautiful card! Love your clean style here and the great lesson in less is more! Cool way to decorate the flower centers and that bow is amazing in that rich color! Fabulous! A very handsome picture of Brady as well. Can’t wait to hear his music later on.
Gorgeous, Ann! Love that richly colored bow and the sweet little butterflies.
Wonderful pic of your son. You must be so proud!
Another beautiful card. Less is better. I like the card so much more without the large butterfly. That set is one of my favorites. Love the colors.
What a great picture of Brady. You have every reason to be proud of him.
I really like this card. Curious as to how it would look without butterflies, but with an embossed background, lightly spritzed. I think that might be pretty, too!
You are, as usual, absolutely right about the less is more and the angle – you chose well. I love the way the bow is on top, although it starts on the bottom. That picture of Brady is magnificent – evokes all different kinds of feelings!
Love your card. So pretty!
Yay for Brady. He is doing so well. You must be a very proud parent of your son!
