It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players! LeAnne has a gorgeous, versatile sketch prepared for you! I did take a few liberties by adding just one element to the central panel instead of three. Originally I had three butterflies of varying sizes, but I decided that it looked a little crowded. So…off came two! I hope you enjoy my monochromatic “Happiness for The Paper Players”.
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips: Monochromatic Cards
This card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.
- Texture! When creating a monochromatic card, use texture to add interest. The “Floral Flourish” from the Sale-A-Bration set Fresh Vintage, was randomly stamped onto textured Very Vanilla card stock to create “faux brocade”. The stunning Poppy Parade Floral Designer Series Paper, from Sale-A-Bration’s Everyday Enchantment collection, was zipped through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to create a tactile delight!
- Tone on tone! The Poppy Parade Butterfly, made with the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die, is given an elegant update courtesy of VersaMark ink and Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder. A few pearls add the perfect touch!
- Curl up and dye! The “Happiness” sentiment from Loving Thoughts is flagged and curled, transforming “blah” to “ah”! And when a custom colored ribbon is in order, never overlook the power of three: re-inkers, stamp pads, and Stampin’ Write Markers. In this case, I used Very Vanilla Seam Binding and a Poppy Parade Stampin’ Write Marker to create a coordinating ribbon in seconds!
I hope that you enjoyed today’s card. It was fun…and relatively fast..to create. Won’t you let me know what you think by leaving me a comment today? And of course, if you ever have a question about the cards that I create or the techniques that I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…
Ann this is just gorgeous. I LOVE your single butterfly and the tone on tone is a WOW factor. The BG embossed paper is looks fab, but that curled banner is the icing on the cake under that butterfly beauty. Just gorgeous. Hugs
PS: I have trouble with 3 things in row? So I like the one instead. I decided to just sit back and view this week… so busy Just whipped by the time I get home!
Beautiful card as always!
What a beautiful card! Love that background with the bold red butterfly on top.

STUNNING!
I am so going to miss Poppy Parade…boohoo
LOVE this card ~ okay, red always scares me and then I see your card…..wow…..I really need to get out of my comfort zone ~ beautifully done Ann!
I ADORE the little curlycue you’ve used on the side of the sentiment flag – I tend to shy away from flags in the middle of the page because I just don’t know how to finish both ends off. Now, I have my solution!
I hope you don’t mind, I added this in to my Pinterest so I can come back and drool over your masterpiece 😉
What a BEAUTIFUL card!! I love the texture and dimension!! It’s bright, cheery and happy! Of course, you used my favorite DSP too!!! LOVE, LOVE LOVE!!!! Amy L.

If you ever find yourself in need of finding the perfect candidate to send this little lovely to…*raising my hand*…I will volunteer! This derserves to be framed! 🙂
I hope your ‘happiness’ card helped to cheer you a bit. The texture, embossing, and pearls are beautiful.
What a vibrant card, Ann! I love all of the texture and “Schach creativity”! So glad you remind of us of the tricks of the trade! I especially like the way the center panel just pops! TFS your masterpiece, Ann. Hugs
Gorgeous red monochromatic card, Ann! I have been thinking of doing something similar, but the creative ideas haven’t made it to paper yet. I think your card is the utmost in beautiful!
I love monochromatic cards and yours is a beauty! Love the look of stamping on textured card stock. And I’ve made a note to myself to buy that Vanilla seam binding ribbon – great versatility!
I have not seen a red butterfly before, but this is beautiful!
Oh I am in Poppy Parade heaven! Love, love, LOVE this card Ann!!!
I am very impressed with your stamping on this card…it looks like high end designer paper. I love the monochromatic design…Poppy Parade is such a vibrant color, I would never think of making it the only color on a card, but it sure does work! Pretty butterfly, too! A+ for you, Mrs. Schach!
Oh, Ann, this is so cheerful and full of happiness to me … lovin’ it! The pearls definitely knock it up a notch on the classy meter!
Wow, what a delightful card. Love the texture and color used. I think I will “case” a good part of it for my sister. She had a little surgery on Friday and doing well. I want to send her a little sunshine in the mail. Thanks for the inspiration.
Oh, this is just beautiful….I LOVE this paper and your butterfly is gorgeous!
Oh! You have saved SO much work!! I had that paper cut up for card fronts and then lost my train of thought…I am SO CASEing this!! It’s beautiful!
Ann, it paid to take Coco Chanel’s advice…. always take off two things before you walk out the door…. removing the two butterflies allowed us to focus on how gorgeous that red butterfly is. This is the first time I have seen Poppy look so rich. Love it
hugs

I love it that you used Poppy parade as your main color. I love this bright and cheery color but I have a hard time using it. You pulled off the most gorgeous card using it.
