It’s Thursday, and time to play at Pals Paper Arts. This week the talented Margaret Moody is blessing us with a fabulous sketch. I thought the oval layer would be perfect for spotlighting the dress from Love and Laughter. The multiple layers are right up my alley, and just ready and waiting for a healthy dose of texture!
The finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.
- Tempting Texture! Don’t be afraid to mix different textures on the same card! This card boasts a triple threat of Textured Impressions Embossing Folders: Perfect Polka Dots for the Very Vanilla background layer, Snowburst for the Very Vanilla oval mat, and the adorable Hearts Adorning Accents for a Blushing Bride strip!
- Say “Yes” to the Dress! Inked in Riding Hood Red, to coordinate with the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper, this Bridal Gown sports a non-traditional Riding Hood Red Pleated Satin Ribbon flounce, bedecked in Basic Pearls. A trio of Basic Pearls accentuates the waistline.
- Tip of the Day: Use Sticky Strip to attach the flounce! It will hold securely around the curve!
- Ribbon Rose! Pleated Satin Ribbon makes ribbon roses easy to complete! All it takes is a little Sticky Strip on a punched card stock circle, and you can create this beauty in seconds!
- Think Outside of the Box! The Riding Hood Red Sizzlit Doily, originally created for use on another card, receives a reprieve and major surgery! One of the inner rings is perfect for n edging to add contrast for the oval mat. All it take is a few snips here and there to create these “medallions”!
This is not a traditional wedding card in terms of colors…but can’t you just see this same layout in an elegant monochromatic color palette? I can…and it will be featured in an upcoming post!
I hope you enjoyed today’s card, and that you will indeed join us in our sketch challenge this week! In the meantime, won’t you please leave me a comment and let me know what you think about this Love and Laughter card? Your comments are important to me…and I do read each and every one of them. Of course, if you ever have any questions about the cards that I create or the techniques that I use, I am only an email away. Until next time…

Love the trimmed down doiley.. so clever. The flounce henm is gorgeous! Love the added pearls, and the rose.. WOW!
Whoa, whoa, whoa! This is INCREDIBLE, Ann! Love the colors, the details, the layers. That ruffled ribbon trim on the bottom of the dress – GENIUS!
Love this card and I really like what you did with the doily die. Are you going to do a video to show us or do I have to ask Miss Daisy, who is snuggled under the blankets on our bed at the FOOT of the bed!
Hey Brody – I’m so sad I could sneeze inside out! They are going to put me in a kennel for 36 hours! I’ve never been in a kennel. I think they just want to get rid of me. They told me they are going to a couples retreat! Do you think they will come home again and if they do will they pick me up! Tear drops all over the bed! 🙁 Muffy could you come and pick me up so I can stay by you?!!!!! 🙁
I hope you are having fun at Leadership Ann. Your card is beautiful and posted as scheduled!
Oh My Stars Beautiful!!!!! Very elegant and would be great for a Valentine Wedding. You Rock!

Hey one question….how did you make that oval with the doily die??? you are too clever!
It doesn’t matter if this is not traditional. Anything goes today and this card is beautiful. Any couple would certainly enjoy receiving this. Love all the embossing and pearls and ribbon – you “wedded” them all together perfectly.
What can I say….GORgeous!
This is an absolutely stunning card! I love how you thought “outside the box” to create something non-traditional, and yet amazing and elegant in every way. You are nothing short of a miracle worker in the art department!

I don’t know where to start as to what really got me going…but I think it was your “out of the box” idea on the Doily. Just love this idea. I had one of mine that is torn now I can use it like you did!
