Welcome to Day Number Two of 2011: The Year in Review! Today we are looking back to the merry months of April, May and June. To see the original posts with details, just click on the month and name of the post. I hope you enjoy this trip down memory lane as much as I did!
April – Sailing with The Paper Players
One of my favorite stamps from this year’s Summer Mini was Sail Away. Every time I looked at this stamp, it cried out, “Emboss me, Ann!” and emboss it I did! I found it to be perfect for the emboss resist technique, as was the anchor from The Open Sea. And boy did I have fun distressing this card! The Color Spritzer Tool, the Seven Sided Tool, and the Waterspot stamp from French Foliage all received a workout! This was a special card which was sent to a special person.
May – Pals Paper Arts Throws a Wedding
I am always amazed by those paper artists who are able to do fabulous things with punches. As for me, flowers are as creative as I get. For my niece, I designed this Wedding Bouquet card using the Fancy Flower and Five Petal Flower punches. And no…this one definitely was not mailed!
June – Snow Much Fun
June, with its Idea Book and Catalog pre-order, was a fun month. From the minute I saw the “So Much Fun” stamp set, I knew that it would be coming to Iowa to live with me. Pool Party and Calypso Coral were a delightful duo to use. Of course, hind sight is 20 – 20. If I were to make this card today, I would have added…can we say it all together now…Pearls!
Free Paper
I hope you enjoyed this retrospective, and that you will join me Friday for the months of July, August and September! But for now, which of these three cards was your favorite? Your comment could win you fifty sheets of 6″ x 6″ retired Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper. The lucky recipient will be randomly selected from all comments left on this post through Noon CST Saturday! And remember to click on the name of the card to take you back to the original posts. Until next time…
(Note to Bettie: The information for the card featured on my Christmas post can be found here: A Wish for Peace. This card first appeared on The Stampin’ Schach back on December 9, 2010.)
Well, it’s past noon CST on Saturday, but that doesn’t matter. I just had to tell you that I loved them all, but I am STILL awed by that Growing Green card. WOW!
Your niece is very lucky to have such a talented aunt. I can see that card being framed and saved as a very special mementol.
I love the emboss resist on the sail away. Such a beautiful stamp.
The cards were all great, I would pick May the paper art. Those flowers were picture perfect. It’s fun to look back.
i think the may card with the flowers is just fabulous and my favorite.

Wow this is a hard choice because I love all 3 cards. Having to choose just 1 card I will have to choose #1
debbieanng@yahoo.com
Another serious tie Ann. The flowers are gorgeous but Sailing Away…sails on by……I love all the various layering details and textures and the monochromatic tone to the card. Exceptional in every way.
Can’t wait to see what you have to share with us in 2012.
All the cards are wonderful but I guess I’d have to choose the beautiful wedding bouquet card for my favorite. I’ve been wanting to try some 3D flowers. I’ve bought too many flower punches and dies to not give them a try! LOL!! Thanks for the inspiration! Now I’m just waiting for spring… have to get past snowflakes, snowmen and Valentine’s Day cards and then I’ll do flowers!
3 amazing cards Ann-my fave is the sailing birthday card-love emboss resist and yours is incredibly beautiful
Oh my goodness! So gorgeous and so hard to pick my favorite! If I must I would have to say the wedding card. I am a sucker for flowers and those are just beautiful! Thanks for sharing and for the chance to win the blog candy:-)
So glad to hear that Brody is doing well! I love hearing from the Twins:-)
Inky hugs,
Janet
I loved April’s ‘Sailing” card the best of the three…but it was a tough decision!
Gosh… May’s wedding flower card is even more beautiful than I remembered! I’d bet one could make a 3D paper project out of these flowers – an actual wedding bouquet! Thanks again for sharing these and for the chance at blog candy 🙂
Ann Wow! Love these three past inspirations too! They are ALL wonderful… the flowers are SO gorgeous, and the snowman one is too cute..(love the little birdie on the snowball too), but I have to say my favorite would be the sail boat, as it can be used for many different occasions and IT came in so handy when I was struggling for a male birthday card. YOU snapped me right out of the NO MO JO… because I CASED it! Hugs.
Too tough to call a favorite as there are nifty stuff in each card to love! I guess I will pick the boat card from April as I love the distressing and just the colors and all. It was unusual or something stands out to me in it. Now, if it was the chubby snowman card from another post, I would have gone with it. I think it was the emboss resist technique too. Amazing cards the first time around and then again this trip. I still don’t see how you do it! Happy New Year.
Chris R. from Iowa
How to choose?? Love them all but especially the Wedding Bouquet card. So lovely. Happy New Year, Ann!!

Now this is a tough choice for sure!!! I like them in the order that was posted the Sailing Away is a perfect masculine card and the Bouquet card is spectacular for sure, and I don’t think I will ever get too much of those snowmen. Thats my story and I’m sticking to it!LOLOLOLO
I like your floral card: the flower part is pretty enough to be used as a corsage for the grandmother at the wedding.
My favorite is the sail boat. This is THE BEST card I’ve seen done with the sail boat stamp. I really love it! Hope you don’t mind if I try to copy and I do say try as I am not nearly as talented as you Ann. Love your cards!
I love the floral card. I remember this was you did it and it is just as beautiful the second time.
Three more fab cards but would have to agree with everyone else- the Wedding Bouquet card is amazing.
Three beautiful cards one that is fun one that is manly and one that is beautiful. It is a hard choice since all are so different…but I pick #2 the floral.
Aprils card was my favorite of the 3. It was the original of all the Sail boats that I saw blogged.
Great memories, Ann! Love them all but June is more my style (and love anything to do with Winter/Christmas so that would be my pick. All are gorgeous though as usual for your creations!
Thanks for the memories, Ann! (Leave me out of the paper drawing–I’ve got too much of my own!)
Sail Away is one my favorites and you did an amazing job making it look like it was printed on canvas.
I love your review of some of your favorite cards. I just love all three, but May’s is my favorite, your flowers are gorgeous. Besides its my birthday month.
Oh Ann, April and May’s card are out of this world! I don’t remember them ??? I just went through many pages of your blog and saved many cards. These cards are amazing! How did you do those flowers, or better yet, I will click on the post and find out. I remember your neices wedding but don’t remember the card. It looks like a florist’s corsage put on a card. I called my son in to look at your cards plus to read the twin talk. He loved both. xox
So much fun is my favorite stamp set for winter…love the card.
My favorite card would the June snowman card, because it cooled me down in the hot month of June.
I agree that all are fabulous in their unique way. Forcing myself to pick a favorite, I’m am choosing…the sailboat. D
I love, love, love the wedding card! However, they are all awesome!
Oh, it was a tough decision. If I have to choose only one, it would have to be the sailing card. Extraordinary card and brings back happy memories of times on my brother’s sailboat.
I think I like the wedding card best, but it was hard to choose. Thanks
May was my WOWZA card! But I’ve said over and over your cards wow me each day! Your talent shines through in your work. Happy New Year to you !
Such beautiful cards…..my fave is ‘Snow Much Fun’…..just can’t resist a snowman.
Ann, I love all three, but the one I’m most in awe of is the wedding bouquet. I like the emboss resist technique of Sail Away. It is a good reminder to use that. The snowman is very cute, one that I didn’t purchase, but might have to with your inspiration. I’m enjoying your trip down memory lane. Thank you for sharing your talent with those in cyberland.
These were all awesome. I could look at them again and again. Love them.
Okay, I’m pretty much tired of Christmas cards but I must vote for the ‘Snow Much Fun’ card; it’s darling! To be honest, I love all your cards and they have been an inspiration to me; thanks!
Hmmmm. I’m pondering as I type this. I am a flower nut through and through. Anyone who knows me knows that flowers are just part of who I am. But that sailboat is really swaying me towards choosing it. They are neck-n-neck as favorites. Guess I am going to have to choose not to choose one over the other and declare a tie!
Have a blessed Friday, Ann!
All of these cards are just great, but I really love the sailboat. It is vintage and masculine and a style I really like so much. Thanks for the chance to win blog candy. Happy New Year.
All the cards are wonderful, each in its own style…but I favor the embossed card…such a classic…beautifully done…perfect masculine card!
Hello Ann, Three more beauties to enjoy and then make a decision. They are all wonderful but I have to go with the emboss resist. Happy 2012 and I look forward to more of your creativity!
Ann, all three cards are lovely showcases of your talent, but I’m torn between your Sail Away card and your Wedding Bouquet card as my favorite of the three.
Happy New Year!
Hi Ann! These are all gorgeous and it IS hard to pick just one! The snowman is adorable, the flowers are stunning (with all that fussy cutting too), but my favorite is the sailboat. It reminds me of our vacations in Maine. Can’t wait to see the rest of your favorites. They are all fantastic! Have a good Friday.
All three cards are great. I love them all but espcially May’s card witht he flowers. I love making flowers and yours are beautiful. TFS
these are all wonderful cards Ann…as always…I love the May flowers, well…the snowman too, I love snowmen, but I guess my favorite is the emboss resist sailboat…hmmm…I see a CASE coming to mind ~ thanks and all the best in the new year! Blessings, Denise 🙂
Of course they are all marvelous but the sailboat card is my favorite. I think I scraplifted this card when you originally shared it. Wishing you and your family a Happy, Healthy New Year!
Well, I’ve gotta go with the floral card, from May. It’s absolutely gorgeous, and those flowers sure don’t look handmade! Thanks for offering blog candy, Ann. 🙂
Never easy to choose a favorite as All your cards are just Gorgeious but if these shown, I would say………..all of the above. I can’t commit to just 1.
ColleenB.
Ann, you are just so talented! I love the floral bridal card….just lovely!
I’m not sure how you could choose with so many glorious creations in the running, lol! Another wonderful year – that’s for sure!!!
Hugs and Happy New Year!
All three cards are really great but I would have to say that the emboss resist is my favorite so I choose April along with the others!
I couldn’t sleep tonight so I got up to see what was new on your blog. Love all three cards but especially Aprils. Everything you do is amazing, Ann! Kathy in AZ
Three more great walks down memory lane. As beautiful as the floral spray is and as cute as the snowman card is, I would say the emboss resist sailboat is my favorite.
