It’s Thursday, and time to play at Pals Paper Arts! This week we are featuring a sketch created by the talented Margaret Moody. Since it is a classic sketch, I opted for a classic card…and one which is very easy, very quick to create, and yet very elegant. I hope you enjoy another card created with A Beautiful Season.
Today’s card is 4-1/4″ wide x 5-1/2″ long.
- Pick your paper wisely! The patterns in Morning Mocha Specialty Designer Papers are perfect for creating elegant cards. With their slight metallic sheen, they coordinate perfectly with Brushed Gold card stock. And what could be classier than stripes with dots!
- Elegant cards can be made in a snap! Opt for one “wow” element, such as gold embossing. And to reduce the time, not every part of the image needs to be colored. I left the bird “natural” and very quickly watercolored the leaves with Always Artichoke and the berries with Cherry Cobbler.
- Go for the bow! A 5/8″ Satin Bow is the only embellishment that is needed to set off the image!
I hope you enjoyed today’s card! It really is as easy to make as one-two-three! Won’t you let me know what you think in today’s comment? Your comments are important to me, and I enjoy reading each and every one. As always, if you ever have any questions about the cards that I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away. Until next time…
(There was a question in yesterday’s comments concerning the watermarks on the coasters I posted on Tuesday. They were made with the watermark stamp from the French Foliage set. I LOVE that watermark image!)

Gorgeous, and that bow is just stunning, Ann!!!
Yes, a clasic card but a beautiful Christmas card. The ribon that you added really gives your card that extra elegance.

Very nice! This stamp is so beautiful!
This is so pretty, Ann! Love the papers and colors you used! Love this stamp set too! Going on my wish list! Thanks for sharing and thanks for the shout out!
I just got Beautiful Season and can’t wait to ink up the beautiful Black Capped Chickadee. Your card is CAS but what, no pearls?! LOL! Nice job, Ann.
Gorgeous Ann! Love the neutral colors, the beautiful stamped bird, and that fabulous bow!! I just have to put this stamp set on my wishlist now. Thanks for sharing.
this is quite the classic card Ann-I love using polka dots and stripes together-the mocha morning dsp “almost seems” like an unlikely one to choose for a christmas card but it looks beautiful paired with the soft suede and brushed gold
I jove this card!!!!! Love Linda Callaghan’s comment! For some reason I have “Putting on the Ritz” song on my mind and this card fits the song! Gorgeous! I love the way you didn’t color the bird – didn’t you not color a bird on another card? I gotta remember that AND I need to order this bird! My parents would have loved to have received this card! I still can’t believe you didn’t use any pearls let alone any sponging or spritzing! Could have some white berries mixed in there or colored some pearls red! Then, that bow is just the amazing touch for this card! The whole look is just stunning in my mind! Thanks so much for showing it off to us! I love it!!!!!!

Love the way you used this stamp and the Mocha Morning paper together! I wondered what your sneak peak would reveal and it’s beautiful, as always!
A very classy card. Love the stripes and dots together. And that bow is just perfect. Nice job, Ann as usual. Do you ever get tired of hearing how great you are? LOL

Beautiful card! My favorite card style lately is “simple but elegant”. I want my cards to always have “wow factor”, but I’m trying to cut down on how much time I spend on an individual card. Thanks for your tips on achieving that goal.

Love this card. I have the stamp set and plan to make one similar to this. Thanks for sharing.
Love this stamp set and how elegant yet easy it is to make it. You made it so effortlessly. it matches perfectly with the gold background.
Oh and the giveaway card, fabulous. That’s a lot of “glitter” yet with no mess. Gotta love that too.
This card is beautiful. You always do wonderful designs. I enjoy looking at your blog each day to see what beautiful card you are posting for us to view. Thanks for all you beautiful cards you share with us.

I love this! Your bow is so classy. I believe this card could be used all winter, don’t you?
Classic and classy card. It’s an understated “wow.”
Ann, such a pretty card. The little bird reminds me of the little birds I saw hanging out in the trees the other day and enjoying the sunshine. Someone will certainly enjoy receiving this Christmas card
Ann this is so elegant and I love the black ribbon! What a gorgeous contrast to the rest. Your bird is beautiful and the paper background is fantastic. You are really gifted to be able to follow a sketch. I have NEVER done one and I don’t think I could. I love that you used almost exclusively green and then went BOLD!
Love the gold embossing and how pretty the bird is left natural. Very elegant indeed!!! 🙂 TFS
This is just so elegant looking. I think I need this stamp set..lol Who am I kidding, I want them all..Love your work
Hugs

Classic and classy! Lovely card (and no pearls, oh my)!
You are so right, Ann! The bow is the perfect embellishment! You do them so beautifully every time. Love the card!
Nothing like easy elegance! Cary Grant had it, Fred Astaire had it, Audrey Hepburn had it, Kim Khardashian – NOT – and this card definitely has it! Beautiful! I may have to consider buying some of that Brushed Gold paper!
Ann, your card is indeed beautiful. Great choice of dsp and coloring. I really like the natural bird. I need to get busy making some holiday cards.
Brrr! 32 degrees here this am. But I have my coffee and reading your blog, life is good. D
Pretty card…simple layout…superb results.
Ann another beauty! I LOVE the polka dots and stripes! The stamp set is a favorite and always goregous whether colored or not. Now the bow is PERFECT.. as always and looks beautiful as the finishing touch. Hugs.
What a beautiful combination of neautral and gold colors! I love the softly colored bird image! Very pretty and VERY elegant! Thanks for sharing!

Yep, gorgeous! You are so gifted! You are such an inspiration to me and my stamping! (Just not my pocket book!) 🙂
This is so beautiful, love the sketch!
Beautiful Card, DSP, colors go so well. I love how easy to make but yet a very elegant card.
This card is elegant and amazing, yet quick and easy to create! What a great idea for that classy one of a kind look when time is of the essence – like now when the time flies quickly and the holidays are nearly upon us. Thanks for such an inspirational idea!
Gorgeous card! I love the bird and the way you only colored a portion of the main image. I always feel compelled to color everything but I guess I need to rethink that:-)Thanks for sharing!
Inky hugs,
Janet
Beautiful card and now I know the secret of the holes. I thought you had somehow punched them out. You have made some really beautiful cards using this stamp.
I keep telling myself that I don’t need yet ANOTHER Christmas set, but every time I see something created with THIS set, I’m SO tempted!
Your card may be the one that puts me over the edge – LOL! Well done!
Like the clean lines and the polka dots! Your beautiful bow finishes up this beauty perfectly!
Love, love , love this set,it’s been used a few times for my classes. You can do so much with it. Love the background paper you chose. It is a very quick and elegant card for the season.
OK…finally got the page to load. But it was worth the wait…the card is lovely. I’m so impressed with how clean and simple it is…but not at all plain. The perfect blend of vintage and clean and simple. Your coloring is beautiful, too!
WOW! What a gorgeous card! I love that stamp! I need to get it! 🙂
Very nice! Even prettier than I anticipated. Thanks for sharing.
Very nice! And you know I love quick and easy, and elegant, too!
I knew it!!! I just knew today’s card would be beautiful…and I was right! 🙂 I usually color this bird in but I can see that isn’t always necessary. Such a beauty, Ann!
PS. I purchased the French Foliage stamp initially just for the watermark stamp that you had used on you vintage card! I have grown to love all the stamps in that set but for me the watermark was the selling point but only because I had seen how you use it. TFS faithfully.
Very elegant and classic. I love bird cards! This stamp is so beautiful.
This is beautiful! Simple, yet so very elegant! I have this set as well and it has never seen ink yet but you can be sure I will be using it to CASE this card now! What a fabulous Christmas card!
Very elegant indeed! I have this stamp set and it has not seen ink! I really need to get it out!
Such a pretty card. This card is vrery elegant too. One of my favorite stamp sets for the season that is for sure. I have it but have not used it yet! I had better get busy!!!
This is stunning in its simplicity. I love it! Soft and sweet! Thanks!
I regret not purchasing this stamp set as I love that bird image. Really like the layout of the card and the matching layers.
Just had to come back this morning to see the whole card.
OH WOW! Such a Beautiful card and wonderful layout.
Bird cards make such lovely Christmas cards I think.
