Greeting Card Cutie for Freshly Made Sketches

Once again this week I was able to create a challenge card for a challenge other than Pals Paper Arts and The Paper Players.  This card was designed for a fun, new challenge,  Freshly Made Sketches Rita Wright created this wonderful sketch, which I will be using again and again. At Freshly Made Sketches, they are looking for clean-lined creations, but unlike Clean and Simple challenges, they encourage lots of details and embellishments.  They like to avoid distressing and torn edges.  So…I locked up my Color Spritzer, my Seven-Sided tool, and Sponge Daubers and decided to give this delightful sketch a go!  Out came the “Snow Sweetie” from Greeting Card Kids. And tell me…doesn’t Silver, Baja Breeze, and Whisper White look fresh and clean?  Let’s hope the ladies over at Freshly Made Sketches think so too!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips: Fresh and Clean
  • Pink and Blue! The sweet little Snow Girl from Greeting Card Kids was inked in Basic Gray and stamped onto Whisper White card stock.  She was colored with Blender Pens and Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette, Blush Blossom, Soft Suede and Pear Pizzazz inks.  Her fur trim was created by mixing Dazzling Details with Illuminate Top Coat Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink.  It was then sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds glitter while still wet.  Three little Pearl buttons adorn her coat.
  • Snowflakes and Pearls! Basic Pearls accent the centers of Baja Breeze snowflakes, which were stamped using the Snowflake image from Season of Friendship.
  • Rhinestones and Glimmer Paper!  Silver Glimmer Snowflakes were cut using the Northern Frost Sizzlits Strip Die and the Big Shot.  The Basic Rhinestone was colored using a permanent marker.
  • Tinsel and Lace!  The Lace Ribbon Border Punch was used to create a decorative strip from Baja Breeze card stock.  Silver Tinsel Trim, left-over from last holiday season, was threaded through the openings. Basic Pearls add an elegant touch.

See…I can make a card without spritzing and daubing!  Now if they said “No Pearls Allowed”…that would be a challenge! Your comments are important to me, so won’t you please let me know what you think of today’s card by leaving me a comment? I do read each and every one! And of course, if you have any questions about the cards that I make or the techniques that I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…

  1. If they said “no pearls allowed” we’d have to find a psych unit for the “no pearls allowed people! This card is SO cute Ann. The sparkles are in just the right places to make your little cutie pop right out. I LOVE your middle piece made with the punch. It is SO cool! And the white emboss…really gorgeous in the snow time. The stars…gosh, are you SURE you aren’t using every other companies products because my gosh girl you sure know how to use those Stampin Up products to the absolute Nth (sp for sure!) degree! Divine Love from one of your many many fans, Samara

  3. Too cute! I love all the bling!

  4. Ann..where do I start??? I am so afraid to cut into my glimmer paper! I love all your elements but love how you colored the little girl the most! Thanks for joining Freshly Made Sketches this week!

  9. Precious! Love the embossed white background, and those silver snowflakes are dazzling! Your little girl is so sweet….I find coloring is hard to do, so I’m always impressed with a good job.

  10. Wow Ann! Glimmer and tinsel and pearls, oh my! And that sweet little girl rounds it all out perfectly! I love how you glamoured up her coat and scarf too! Thanks so much for sharing this gorgeous card with us!

  14. Beautiful, Ann! Love the sparkle all over – down to the little girl’s coat, the snowflakes and the background. I’m chuckling over AM’s Tom Cruise comment… so would that make the Twins other members of the IMF as well? Muffy would be excellent at destroying evidence and Brody could be the look-out as he does a fine job tattling. 🙂

  15. Ann this is adorable. Love everything about it….the color is so gorgeous with that glitter paper bling look!!! There is so much to see here, I have to keep looking to take it all in.

    Woof, woof!

  18. I thought I felt the earth shaking and it was just you locking up the distressing tools! The sparkle on this is a-maz-ing!! Now I’m wishing I had saved some of that tinsel. As for the no pearls rule…half the team would be sunk!! So glad you could join us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!

  19. That is such a cute little girl and the colors you used are just so pretty!!!

  20. I really like blue for Holiday cards. The vintage style is always a favorite too. Let’s hope we can keep snowflakes on cards for as long as possible. It is 65 here this am. D

  21. Absolutely stunning! Another little girl! I’m going to drag out my Baja Breeze paper for some winter cards. Thanks for the inspiration.

  22. Super cute card! I like how you combine the lace ribbon with the snowflake!

  23. Truly delightful, Ann! I am a HUGE fan of vintage images and this card is SO adorable!

  24. Oh, I hope they never say, “No pearls allowed”! LOL We’d hear screech sounds as you abruptly turn about face. 😉

  25. What a darling card! I love the color combo and agree that it is crip and clean. I just received my glimmer paper and can’t wait to try it out. Sharp card, Ann….just don’t forget where you hid your color spritzer and distress tools!

PS: Anne Marie’s comment made me laugh out loud.

  42. (I can barely type this because I keep laughing at AM’s silliness over on the side!) I’m so happy you took time out to play with my sketch. You know we wouldn’t be mean and say no pearls! What’s a card without some pearls?! You totally rocked it with this one! I love all the sparkle! I might have to try out these colors if I can stop hoarding that glimmer paper! Be sure to put this one up high so Muffy doesn’t try to add distressing!

  43. Ann! This is glimmer-tastic! Ok, here is a chuckle for you…when I read the line “locked up the Color Spritzer Tool” I had this image of you…a la Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible, dressed in all black pulling that baby out of a special briefcase. You are my idol with that tool and you rocked it, yet again. Hope your weekend was fantastic! Hugs! 🙂
