It’s Monday, and I am under the gun to get this card posted in time to enter it into this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. The lovely Linda Callahan designed a fabulous sketch, so I had to play along. I hope you enjoy today’s card!
- Depth! The Lodge from the Christmas Lodge set was stamped with Early Espresso Craft Ink and heat embossed with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder. It was then partially snipped out and positioned in front of the images from Lovely As a Tree to give the illusion of depth.
- Sparkly Bow! A snippet of Always Artichoke Seam Binding was threaded through an Always Artichoke Button and tied into a bow. Both the ribbon and the button were liberally kissed with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz.
- Merry! For a little more pizzazz, I decided to add the Merry sentiment from Teeny Tiny Tags.
- Texture! Both the Stripes and Houndstooth Textured Impressions Embossing Folders were used in creating this card for a healthy dose of yummy texture. And for even more fun, an Early Espresso strip punched using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch was added, along with a few pearls.
I hope you like today’s card! I will be interested in hearing whether you like the version with the tag, or without the tag, as seen here:
I like them equally as well. So when in doubt, post them both! Let me know in today’s comment your preference. Please remember, your comments are so very important to me. I do read each and every one. And remember, if you ever have any questions about the cards that I make or the techniques that I use, I am only an email away…although I am typing with a handicap. Brody shut the door on the pointer finger of my right hand. I was heading out the door, and Muffy had her nose where it didn’t belong…as usual. I was poking her nose back inside when Brody jumped on the door, slamming it on my finger. It is not broken, but boy is it swollen and purple. But you know what…better my finger than Muffy’s nose! Until next time…

Finally had time to check out this post. Looks like an old-fashioned Christmas card! It’s beautiful!
WOW…these 2 stamp sets look perfect together! I just might have to case this! ;P…..Love the bells on the button too….{SMILES}
Ann, this is stunning as ever! Love how you merged these two stamp sets to create the most peaceful winter scene. I hope your finger heals quickly…wait, I hope it wasn’t your “Color Spritzer” hand…Brody and I may have to ave a “talk” if that is the case!! 😉
Oh, your poor finger! Well you did a stunning job of typing! I’m glad it isn’t broken. As for that card, if it was created with your boo boo, it is stunning too…even if it wasn’t. I love the bells – they are so nice where you put them. The entire card is festive and traditional. Very nice for the traditional celebrant! A beautiful Job Ann.
So beautiful Ann! Love how you paired the two stamp sets together and the two different embossing folders, they really add to the rustic look! I love both cards but the one with the bells and tag is my favorite! So sorry about your finger, I know that has to hurt! I hope it heals quickly and doesn’t hinder your stamping too much.
Ann…. OMG I LOVE how you paired the lodge with the Lovely as a Tree! I am so going to do this, but I think I’ll mask it instead. Gorgeous. LOVE those little jingle bells on the bow! Hugs.
Wow! I love the lodge popped up in front of the trees. Great idea and a gorgeous card once again!
This card just BLOWS me away !!!!!
LOVE the card!!!

Love the freshly made snowy details! So crisp and fresh! I like both cards but I think I am partial to the little Merry tag and jingle bells. Just rich in details.
I jammed my little finger on my right hand last Thursday and it is still reddish purple. Amazing how much I use that finger! Hope yours heals fast.

WTG on your win with this beauty! LOVE the snow on this house!! 🙂
This is a fabulous card. You are so amazing. Can Miss Daisy come live with you? Maybe you can train her. No – she would want to come home and that is too long of a walk for her little short legs. ‘Sides – she has NEVER seen snow!
Blessings to you and your family for Thanksgiving. 🙂
So beautiful, Ann! Lots of texture and depth to this card. Love the glittery snow, too!
Beautiful card Ann- I really like this lodge image-it makes for such an elegant card- the shimmer on the ribbon looks good- I like the card with the tag
Ann ~ This is gorgeous!! I vote for the tags and bells on the bow.
(Sounds like you could be in for quite a surprise this winter when bad weather is being forecast….we all will be heading to your ‘Lodge’ to get snowed in. Can you even begin to imagine what fun that would be?!!! Pack up your ’emergency Stampin’ supplies’ ladies, and watch the weather for the first big snow storm and meet me at Ann’s. lol) All joking aside; this is beautiful.
Hope that finger heals quickly!
Another amazing card! My favorite is with the bells and tag. Really love this one.
Hope your finger is better soon!
AMAZING!!!! OMG !!!!!!! I love this card. I love it with the tags and the little bells.. Gorgeous!!!! Stunning… Can you tell I love it…lol
hugs

Ann, Another Awsome card, Gorgeous thru and thru! I’m with the bells and tag. Beautiful as usual. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely Stunning! It’s just breath taking. Beautiful wintery scene.
I must say, I do like the tag and bells with the bow. It’s just enough to add that little something to the bow; making it stand out more. I like that little tag and of course the little row of pearls as well.
Fantastic card.

Oh Darn! I feel your pain my friend! Ouch! Your cards are stunning I love the bells and the tag the best. Hope you feel better soon!
Wow, love all you did with this card, where to begin? Love the little bow with the jingle bells and tag, the glitter / snow on the roof, the popped up house. And the colors!
Ouch!! Sorry to hear about your finger! This card is STUNNING!!! I like it best with the tag and bells! It’s a beautiful card with the house standing out in front of the trees! Fantastic job!!!
Love the little bells on the bow!!
Super pretty card.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
Olivia
Love both cards but I give the nod to the one with the tag. Amazing details Ann. Love the varied texture. Your poor finger – a big OUCH!
Ouch!!! Your finger must be throbbing!!
Your crd did not sufer from your injury…it’s beautiful. I also like both of them equally!
Ann – WOWser! Absolutely STUNNING! I love the cut out, popped up lodge over the lovely as a tree backscape. How perfect. Definitely plan to try my hand at a little simpler version. Thanks for your inspiration.
Never a dull moment at your house, is there? I especially like the embossed background and the jingle bells on the ribbon.
WITH! I love the picture you’ve painted with this card, Ann!
I love the little tag and bells you added to the gorgeous card.
Hope your finger heals quickly. I can only imagine how that hurt.
Sorry about your finger. I love this card. I have to say I like the one with the tag & jingle bells! Hope your finger heals quickly!
What a fabulous and fresh take on the sketch, Ann! LOVE the crisp lines and the lovely scene created with these images. A winner in my book!
I’d like to make a reservation please : )
Beautiful Ann. The glitter adds elegance to the muted tones of the lodge and trees. The one I like best is the one where you have added the tag.
Take care of your finger, I had a toe that looked like that a couple of weeks ago and it was no fun. I can imagine the pain with a finger that you have to use and it would be so easy to bump. I hope Muffy apologized to “Mom”
AMAZING! Such a beautiful card. Great use of the lodge! You are quite clever! 🙂
Totally LOVE this one, Ann! I like the bells version. 🙂 I hope your poor finger heals quickly. Bad puppies; good thing they are cutie pies. If you need a pearls assistant, I’m available, but I haven’t yet achieved the Ann level of spritzing to help with that. Hugs!
Ouch! Hate when that happens! You never realize how much you use your fingers until they are injured. Love the card; I also would love to be snowed in with a good supply of eats, stamps and books! Hugs!
What an absolute stunner of a card that captures the true holiday spirit! Kathy in AZ
Ann, I love the way you used the lodge with the trees I n the background. How lovely!
I definitely like the one with the tag because those bells are so stinkin’ cute! And I absolutely adore the ribbon with the Smooch Spritz. I’ve never thought of doing that! Thanks so much for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches!
Gorgeous. I like the one with the bells better (even though the other is equally gorgeous). Those rascally twins; I guess they wanted to go with you. Hope the finger gets better soon (and doesn’t slow down your creativity too much).
okay lady…you have done it again! a drop dead gorgeous card! even with a purple finger! I hope it is better soon!!! Thanks for joining us!
Wow, Ann – this is beautiful. I love how you combined two different sets (three if you count the sentiment) to create this beautiful scene. Now, this is the kind of place I wouldn’t mind being snowed in at (as long as I had running water, heat, and all the other modern conveniences – LOL!).
Thanks for playing along with Freshly Made Sketches this week!
P.S. Hope your finger feels better soon and that it heals quickly – especially before it’s time to cook Thanksgiving dinner. 🙂
Another stunner Ann!! Can’t possible choose…sorry! I hope that you are taking care of that finger…yikes! Hope it isn’t the spritzing and sponging hand. Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week.
Your card is gorgeous……..and then some! Love the snow and the bells – it’s a beautiful scene!
Stunning Card. I like the card with the tag punch and bells.
Oh wow Ann…this is stunning, I love the muted colours, the snow and the ribbon/bells on the side. SO gorgeous!!! Of course, the pearls are amazing too!!!
