Snow Swirled for The Players

It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players! This week the talented and lovely Lesley Croghan is hosting a Clean and Simple Red and Green Christmas challenge! So I grabbed my favorite red and green card stocks…Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke…and the Snow Swirled stamp set.  Today’s card is quick, easy and so pretty in person.  If you have an extra thirty minutes in which to create, this is the card for you!  I hope you enjoy!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips:  Embossing Elegance
  • Emboss! The Flourish from Elements of Style was inked with VersaMark and randomly stamped onto Cherry Cobbler card stock.  Heat embossing with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder produces a simply elegant background!
  • Emboss again! The Tree from Snow Swirled was inked with VersaMark and stamped onto Very Vanilla card stock.  Once again, the image was heat embossed using Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder, producing the perfect focal point!
  • Pearls! Basic Pearls were colored red using a permanent marker and placed into the centers of the  snowflakes.  The result adds a “pop” of color!
  • Velvet! A Very Vanilla Velvet Stitched Ribbon and bow is the perfect finishing touch!

I hope you enjoyed today’s quick and easy card! Won’t you please let me know what you think by leaving me a comment? I do appreciate your comments, and I do read each and every one.  And remember, I love answering questions about the cards that I create and the techniques I use.  I am only an email away!Until next time…

    1. Oh My Word – I’ve coloured the pearls black when I’ve needed – but never a colour. They are absolutely gorgeous in red – just popping off this tree! Fantastic card.

    2. I will never tire of this stylish Christmas tree. I should pull my set out more often!

It looks WONDERFUL with the flourish from Elements of STyle. I see you did bunches of heat embossing on this card. A bit time consuming, but worth the effort in my opinion!

    3. Oh Ann, this is one of my favorite holiday sets and you just took it to a whole new level! Simply because I haven’t said it in a while I’m going with “Schach-tastic” on this one! Those colored pearls add perfect polish and you just inspired me to use that velevet ribbon that has been sitting (unloved) in my craft room. Hugs to you and those sweet twins! Have a super day! ๐Ÿ™‚

Ps: Did you buy your cowboy hat and register for Leadership today? *wink*

    7. This is seriously gorgeous! I love that swirl pattern you added on your back mat. To be honest, I’ve never really cared for that tree image, but you made it look amazing with that background. This is certainly one to remember as a case card. Awesome work on this! Hugs to the “kids” and you too of course! LOL Best, Curt

    8. How fabulous. You can colour those pearls. I can’t wait to try that out. This card is perfect, of course, as usual. I love coming to your blog for inspiration. TFS

    9. Anne, Your CAS card is so elegant. I love all the texture of the background paper and that velvet bow is just delicious. Fantastic!!!

    10. Hi Ann,
What a gorgeous card. I am making this card with two variations, one I am using the single tree in Lovely as a Tree, the other I goofed so I tore the edges of the bottom of the Very Vanilla CS. On the inside I also tore the Very Vanilla. I am picking anonymous because the other choices don’t fit.

    52. Beautiful! I love the gold embossed background. Must get myself some gold embossing powder. Also love how you colored the pearls!

    53. I love, love, love it ! I’m so happy you’re doing these 30 minute cards Ann. This card is perfectly done. My favorite green for Christmas is Always Artichoke also. I think it makes a lot of colors in the Christmas “palette” look better.

    54. Good morning, Ann! This set is one of my “go to” images, for it always looks great with minimal effort…and like you, I always emboss. Using the flourish stamp in the background is a stroke of genius, however! It really punches the image up. I’m going to try it! Hope you are feeling much better by now.
