A Farewell to Summer…the Mini that Is

August 31st marks the last day to order from the Summer Mini.  As always, I am sad to see my favorites leave.  The Open Sea is a classic with which I will not part, as is Sail Away.  I will definitely be saving these stamps for my own personal use, along with Strength and Hope.  My grandmother died of breast cancer, so this set supports a cause that is dear to my heart.  So please, enjoy this parade of cards from this year’s Summer Mini, in lieu of my usual Friday Buried Treasure.

On the Grow (W 123075, C 123077)

Strength and Hope  (W 118100, C 123660)

The Open Sea  (W 123030, C 123032)

Touch of Kindness  (W 123201, C 123203)

Proud Peacock (W 122020, C 122031)

Sunny Fun  (W 123040,  C 123042)

Sail Away (123013)

Remember,  the Summer Mini leaves us on August 31st, so do not hesitate to order those last few sets which you know you NEED! And to be perfectly honest, I am ordering a few more of the Sail Away stamps to give as gifts for some of my friends who are just starting out in stamping.  An inexpensive ($9.95) stamp, it is just perfect for a wide variety of occasions…especially those hard to design masculine cards.  Birthdays, Thank-Yous, Congrats, Thinking of You, and even Sympathy cards…this stamp fills the bill.  Keep it clean or dirty it up, whatever style strikes you at the moment!

  5. Looking on my iPhone and have to run to my desktop! I think I am in love! ALL these cards are spectacular Ann. Can you hear me running (hint) YES!

  6. First of all, congrats to Pauline, I am sure you will enjoy the card! It is always fun to go around full circle in viewing the cards from the recentpast. Or, as the song goes – “Going around in circles….” Sorry I saw your post on Mike Funke’s blog about “Up, Up and Away” and thought I would follow. Or, how about “Time to Remember” – as I went through the cards, I caught myself saying, “Oh, yeah I remeember that one, etc.” If SU is paying attention – those two should be in the catalog for sure next year!

  7. Thanks for sharing these wonderful cards again from the Summer Mini items! I never get tired of seeing your beautiful creations! This has been such a fantastic catalog, I’m sorry to see it go as well! But I also can’t wait to see what you do with the Holiday Mini! Congrats to Pauline for winning the Rustic Lodge card, she is one lucky lady!

  8. It’s always fun to look back. Great cards to revisit. There are sets I will be keeping also. But like you said, one goes and new one comes! Sad on one hand and excited on the other!

  9. Your cards are all WONDERFUL! I too am sad that The Open Sea and Sail Away will no longer be available. I’ll be crossing all my parts for a carry over into the 2012-2013 IBC.

  10. OH I love them all and I am not parting with my sail away stamp either…..mostly because I have not inked it up yet, lol, but still nice to know I have it and it’s so versatile. I LOVED the S.U. special this month and decided this was the month to order all the ones I wanted. I am so glad they did this and hope they keep offering special deals like this one.

  11. I am so excited to be the very lucky recipient of an original Ann Schach card!! Totally not expecting that and almost missed your congrats posting; now that would have been sad!
It was fun to see the review of your cards from the Mini catalog. I also love The Open Sea and Sail Away sets (haven’t had time to do anything with mine yet!) and the butterfly from the Strength and Hope set. It would be so wonderful if they could find a cure for cancer!
Thank you for all of the time and effort you put into sharing your creations, Ann; I know you are a busy lady! Very glad you are also so generous. Hugs, Pauline

  12. Thanks for the walk down summer mini lane. The emboss resist Sail Away is my favorite. Can’t wait to see your top 10 holiday mini picks.

  13. I won’t be getting rid of Open Sea or Sail Away, either. Love them both.

  14. Ann what a great trip down memory lane.Love all your cards you made from all the sets, and each one different in color and tecture. So cool.
I soooo wish they did not retire Open Sea and Sail Away… I too will not give them up. Such great sets for masculine cards too. We can always hope for the next IBC!
    Hugs.
