Happy Birthday to “Michelle the Handler”

There is no denying that the Schach family loves their Twins.  They are our children…or in the case of Brady the Boy…his siblings.  That is why we feel we are blessed to have met their handler, Michelle.  Michelle loves them as if they were her own…and even refers to herself as their “step-mom”.  We never worry about them when they are in her care at a show, because we know that they are in great hands.  So when Michelle had her birthday last week, we knew that we needed to make a special card.  I  hope that you think it is special, too!
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips: Custom Cards
  • When creating a custom card, select a theme which relates to the recipient.  In the case of a dog show handler, what could be better than a canine stamp, and a blue ribbon to let her know that she is #1!
  • Houndstooth for a “hound handler”! Don’t you love the new Houndstooth Textured Impressions Embossing Folder?  A little Basic Black ink and a Brayer were used to emphasize the pattern!
  • A pennant and a pun! Flagging the ends of the sentiment adds interest, as does a bit of bling! The “Top Dog” sentiment from Not So Seriously, was inked with VersaMark and heat embossed with the new Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Emboss Powder!
  • Keep the image simple! Simple heat embossing works for the adorable “Pile-O-Puppies” portrait from Not So Seriously.  If you do decide to watercolor, keep it light!  You do not want the image to compete with the Houndstooth.  Save the competition for the show ring!

Michelle loves her card, and plans on framing it.  What about you?  Won’t you leave me a comment and let me know what you think about today’s card?  And remember, there is nothing that I like better than answering questions about the cards that I create or the techniques that I use.  Remember….I am only an email way!  Until next time…
