What’s Your Style for Pals Paper Arts PPA97

What a fun challenge we have for you this week!  It’s Anything Goes…What’s Your Signature Style?  As for me, I do a lot of vintage.  So I created this vintage-style emboss resist card using the retiring Friends 24-7 stamp set.  I will be sharing with you some of my favorite “vintage” tips!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips:  Creating a Vintage Look
  •  Pick the right stamp! Not every stamp is suitable for a vintage-style card! With its flourishes and bird, Friends 24-7 fills the bill!
  • Pick the right technique! Emboss Resist works well in creating the vintage look.  Here is a video from the archives to review this technique with you!

  • Pick the right details! Curled corners and flagged ends add a vintage flair!   Distress the edges with Crumb Cake, add a snippet of Victoria Crochet Trim, a Linen Thread mini-bow, and a few watermarks (courtesy of the Watermark stamp from the French Foliage stamp set), and the sentiment takes on an aged appearance in an instant!
  • Pick the right embellishments!  Baja Breeze Glass Glitter, soon to be retired, accents the image circle, while Basic Pearls are always the perfect vintage touch! A Trinket Key and a Baja Breeze Seam Binding bow completes the look!
I LOVE the sentiment from this set…”The happiest business in the world is that of making friends”.   And I think that is what I have done here at The Stampin’ Schach…I have made so many friends. As a token of my friendship, I would like to send this card to one of you. At Midnight CST on Friday, I will randomly select one of you (from those who have left comments) to receive my card…if you would like it.  Of course, your comments are very important to me, so please let me know what you think of today’s card.  And as always, I love to share with you. So if you ever have any questions about the cards that I make or the techniques that I use, I am only an email away! I can’t wait to see your signature styles! Until next time…

  13. Oh, Ann – this is so “you!” Everything about this card says Ann Schach made it – the curled edges, the ruffled ribbon, the watermarks, the sponging, the embossing and even the colors used. And more importantly, the friendship sentiment. You welcome each and everyone of us to your blog wholeheartedly that we can’t help but become blog friends.

  14. Oh Ann! I just love, love, LOVE your vintage style. You do it SO well! I would be honoured to be chosen to receive this GORGEOUS card! Keep up the awesome work!

  15. Ann, you rocked the vintage again! Love the color choice you used!

  16. Ah, a breath of cool, fresh air and boy do I need it! Havig no a/c this week has been really rough! Today, the new one was to be installed and it stormed so it was a “wash-out” they said! This is a fabulous card with all the details. Ribbon, lace, pearls, trinket, and glass – oh my! It is definitely in the details and this rocked it! Since you are going to have a lot of disappointing fans – I think you should make one for each of us or at least give a card a way every few weeks! I think each one of us would be honored to have it! I think I need to get that stamp set after all just so I can “try” to make something similar – just like that is really going to happen! It would be fun to try though! Thanks Ann for all the inspiration and friendship you provide!

TFS the video also, very helpful! Have a wonderful day! Someone is going to be very lucky to receive it! Hugs, Pauline

  26. THIS card is the PERFECT ANN CARD! I am thrilled to look at every single detail of it. When I saw on the opening page “anything goes” I was so excited to open the entire link, knowing I would see your signature VINTAGE and tada! better than PERFECT (hmmm.) Ann – the colors are like heaven on earth to my eyes, my breath was a deep sigh (you do this to me with your signature cards) and I just looked and looked. I was SO glad you described every inch of your process of it PLUS the video. Gosh, you are a pro at this video stuff! (my son says I use “stuff” too much! lol) so videoing/video taping and presenting!! lol The baha (couldn’t resist) baja FRIENDS is SO amazing on the sentiment. My eyes just went BOING from the ribbon to the FRIENDS and back and forth. It was only after I saw the Key..and thought of friendship as a Key to My Heart saying (Gosh, you are brilliant in the subtleties.) The watermark adds so much…have to look that one up. Who would have thought. And the every other pearl on the scallop – Geesh – you go out of the box on your cards…which is what I love! Suffice to say this one is what makes your so spectaculoso in my view as a creative soul. G-d sure looked fondly on you Ann when handing out the artistic talent! And man oh man…how you could part with this one? All part of who you are: Kind. Samara xox
