It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players in our Clean and Simple Sketch Challenge. For my card today, I decided to create a birthday card for my husband, Kim. I pulled out a set that is perfect for creating a vintage look, Extreme Elements, and paired it with the Crown from Artistic Etchings. As for the sentiment…it is from You’re a Gem! I hope you enjoy today’s card!
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips: Simple with Pizzazz!
- Draw attention to a focal image with a Windowpane! Images from Extreme Elements were inked with Soft Suede and stamped onto Very Vanilla. A few Watermarks from French Foliage were added to complete the vintage look. But the pièce de résistance is the Beveled Windowpane which emphasizes the Crown image from Artistic Etchings.
- Sensational sentiment! Create a pennant by flagging one end and curling the other!
- Little details add up! Safety Pins from the Vintage Trinkets collection hold Baja Breeze Seam Binding in place. Edges are distressed courtesy of the Seven Sided Tool. And a fabulous pattern from Elegant Soiree Designer Series Paper adds a touch of class!
I hope you enjoyed today’s Clean and Vintage card. This was the first time I have used a Beveled Windowpane. What do you think? Doesn’t that crown just “pop” off the page? Won’t you please leave me a comment and let me know what you think? And as always, I LOVE sharing the details behind my cards. So if you ever have a question about the cards that I create or the techniques that I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…

I really like this guy’s card for your hubby, Ann! I love the ‘crowning’ touch, the window pane, the fleur-de-lis..all faves of mine. Hope he loved it!
Ann, I just loved this card, but of course you used one of my favorite stamp sets. Funny, but I made a mention of the French Foliage stamp in a post tonight about how it’s a great vintage touch. Goes to show you, great minds think alike. Take Care.
Just gorgeous, Ann! So clean, yet so many fabulous details. I just love how the little banner looks like a scroll and the windowpane is such a perfect touch. I know your husband will love it! 🙂
So pretty, Ann, and a great take on the sketch. Love the windowpane and yes, the crown does pop right off of the card! The banner is fabulous too!
I adore the burnt look that you add to your edges! This is a sure winner for Kim!
It is a lovely card!

Can I sing to the king? Lol the card is gorgeous! I am looking on my iPhone waiting to get my thumb x-rayed lol so I can’t make out every detail, but I can’t wait to get home and see the window ribbon! The colors are my ANN-FAV! I love the bow on the bottom.
Love the colors in this card, Ann! the safety pins are such a fun touch…and the windowpane is super! Back to painting for me now!
Beautiful! Your cards are always works of art, Anne! I lvoe the little banner.
Gorgeous!!! I love the idea you had for the mini safety pins! I had no clue how to use mine, lol! Great job!!!
I see that single pearl on the Fleur delis (is that the right spelling??). 😉 I really like the scroll effect at the top of the sentiment too. Like many of the ladies, I have yet to use the beveled windows that I ordered! So sad! Thanks for inspiring us, Ann! Happy birthday to Kim! and hope the twins had a winning week-end!
With your awesome example, maybe I will be able to finally use my window panes! I have never used them! Thanks, Pal!
Lovely, lovely, lovely! I need to dust off my Artistic Elements set now!

Outstanding card–great combo of sets. I have trouble using those little safety pins–your idea works so well. TFS your talents with all your readers–Dar
PS Is all this rain and storms ever going to stop?
Beautiful!!!! the color combo I love…. The crown looks like it is embossed.. Is that just the ink? Tell Kim birthday wishes are coming all the way from Nova Scotia. Hope he enjoyed his special day..

Ann, I sure like your clean vintage card. I love how you have used the window pane and then accented the ribbon with the safety pin. Happy Birthday to Kim and I hope Brody is surviving the weekend without Muffy.
Ooh! I do love the window pane! How did you do that? Is one image stamped off and the bolder image on top? Would love a tutorial on this. Thanks again for inspiration!

I am totally addicted to using banners and I really love how you changed it up with one going vertical rather than horizontal! This is a beautiful card, and I agree the beveled window is spectacular for enhancing the image underneath.
Fabulous as usual Ann! Love the color combo and the collage you’ve made is perfectly highlighted by the windowpane–gorgeous! Hope your husband has a great birthday!
love these colors
Happy Birthday to Kim! Love that sentiment on the banner you created and the safety pins are the perfect touch!
Happy Birthday Kim! Love the card Ann made for you! That windowpane treatment is the crowning touch. Sorry, couldn’t help myself! But, that little sentiment part is so cool! I love the wording first but then the curling and the hemp stuff just really makes it shout! Of course, the color scheme is one of my favorites too. No pearls? I guess no pearls or bling necessary for this gem of a guy. Boy, you really have me stuggling for words! Great card Ann! What’s all the kiddos doing for Father’s Day?

Hugs.

Once again, another beautiful card. You are the “queen” of the vintage look! Such attention to detail is awe inspiring. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent with us! Kathy in AZ
Simply Gorgeous! Love all of the details on this card.
Ann…how do you do it? Your color spritzer dots always look so perfectly placed! Mine look like someone threw up ink on my card. Ugh!! You always inspire me to figure that darn thing out, so I’ll keep trying. Love the banner; it seems to be a popular new addition to cards in the new catty and I like that.
What a wonderful birthday card for your husband. Yes, the crown does pop out at you. Great idea to use the windowpane.
The crown DOES pop off the page! I bought those window panes last quarter and have yet to use one! Love your card!
You do clean and simple justice. A great card for your husband. The curled end on the banner is such a simple thing but adds that something extra. Love it.
Fit for a king! Love that windowpane – great look!
Another great card! Love, love the banner. Happy Birthday to Kim!
