A Peek at the PPA

Wednesday always means it’s time to take a peek at my Pals Paper Arts challenge card.  I hope that you will join me tomorrow for the reveal.  And I also hope you will stop by Pals Paper Arts to see this week’s Pals Artist Picks.  Congratulations to the winners!

Your comments are important to me, and I would love to share my cards with you!  My challenge card features embedded embossing, one of my favorite techniques.  What about you?  What is one of YOUR favorite techniques?  From all comments left today and tomorrow, I will randomly select one person to receive not only the challenge card, but also this card featuring the bird from Nature Walk:
And remember, if you ever have any questions about the cards that I create or the techniques that I use, I am only an email away!  Until next time…

  1. Oh, Anne, you came up with a real winner! This is a wonderful card!

  2. Don’t know for certain what embedded embossing is. Will find out tomorrow! Love the card.

  3. Interesting peek! I have no earthly idea what to expect tomorrow! My favorite technique – well, Houston, we have a problem! I am doing good to even get a card finished lately let alone do any real techniques except to dream about how it is to look. I must have fried too many brain cells when my air conditioner went out a few weeks ago. That is my story and I am sticking to it! Love the Nature’s Walk card – gorgeous!

  4. Right now my favorite technique is water coloring. I tried embedded embossing, and then that’s all I did for 2 weeks. I love it!

  5. This peek is such a tease! I’ll definitely be joining you tomorrow for the full reveal.

  6. I am stumped! I have no idea what image you have used for the PPA card. I can hardly wait to see all of your card. I lve the card that you made using the stamp Natures walk. Putting the pearls around your imake is so very pretty. It looks like it was time consuming to do but so worth the out come.

I have lots of techniques that I like but my favorite techniue is distressing. Too bad I do not do it very much.

    Mary

  7. Can’t wait to see your card tomorrow! Your “peeks” are always a tease. 🙂

I don’t know if I have a favorite technique although I suppose using the embossing folders are what I use the most because they can add such great texture to cards.

  8. A quick hello, Ann. Looks like we will sail away on a patriotic venture tomorrow! There are so many techniques I love to do it is hard to pick; love the dry embossing and spritzing as they add so much dimension. Love the paneling, layering, colors and bling on the Nature’s Walk card that you are so generous in giving to one of your very lucky ladies! Have a great day, Ann.

  9. OK, now this is the most bizarre sneek peek I’ve seen to date. You have me TOTALLY stumped AND I LOVE IT! I can hardly wait to see what you have created…it will be fantastic…I KNOW IT!

  10. I haven’t tried embedded embossing yet, but I think it looks cool! I just haven’t had time to play in my craft room like I thought I would this summer. I always love distressing, heat embossing, and vintaging (I’m SURE that’s not a word, but you know what I mean). Can’t wait to see that Sail Away card tomorrow! LOL! I LOOOOVE your Nature Walk card….GORGEOUS!!!

  11. Ann the peek is intriging and I can’t wait to see the reveal.
As for techniques there are so many I truely love. Embedded embossing is new to me this year and I love that, but also like Heat embossing, distressing, and always love to layer…. matting, flowers, and bling! Hugs.

  12. I am in love with the bird card. It is one of my all time favorites. I am entranced with the pearl outline oval and the dyed rosettes. My technique is combining papers from a DS set, like you used in this card. If I win, I will frame the bird card.

  13. I have done a few embedded embossing cards–the original creator really had a great technique there. Your birdie is certainly eye candy. Dar

  14. Miss Daisy is awaiting the arrival of those two cards so she can sniff her sweetheart’s scent and dream about Brody every morning, noon and night!

One of the cards I just put up on my blog for my open house this weekend is the embedded embossing technique and a CASE from Dale Morin. I have so many different things I like to do and go in spurts with different techniques.

    Now my address is . . . . . :)))))))))))))

  15. Your Nature’s Walk card is par excellence! Thanks for sharing.

  16. Ann, I am sure your challenge card is wonderful, but alas, must wait til tomorrow. Your card using Nature’s Walk is stunning. I love how you have coloured the bird and used the rosettes to set off the ribbon. What did you use for the leaves? Have a great day Ann

  17. I also love embedded embossing…and I love the star punch…I just got it this spring…can’t believe they are retiring it…can’t wait to see the whole card!!

  18. Can’t wait to see the finished card tomorrow! The color combo looks fun! My favorite techniques right now are heat embossing and distressing with the Color Spritzer. I have you to thank for all the awesome inspiration with the CS tool. Thanks, Ann! 🙂

  19. I have not tried embedded embossing but I need to. I love texture on a card and this technique definitely provides that. Embossing is probably my favorite technique so I need to take it to the next level. Can’t wait to see your card.

  20. Is that More Mustard I spy? I’m always curious to see how people use it because it is the one color I own that I just don’t get along with. I bought it for fall cards and that’s about the only time it sees the light of day. 🙂

  21. I enjoy doing the embedded embossing also. The ‘quilted’ cards look amazing with this technique. Looking forward to seeing the reveal tomorrow.

  22. My fave technique is dry embossing, using my wonderful Big Shot! Love that guy. 🙂

  23. Can’t wait till tomorrow 2 C your card.
Guess I would have 2 say my favorite technique would be embossing; gives elegant look to any card.
    ColleenB.

  24. The friend card is so beautiful Ann. I love the last “tile” on that card – the embossing is just georgeous.

  25. Hi Ann! I always love your cards! My current favorite technique is wax paper resist. It is so easy to do and always packs a punch for me. Just showed it to my club girls and they LOVED it.

  26. I am loving the embedded embossing too, it is my favorite technique right now! Can’t wait to see your card tomorrow, I love the color red!

  27. I love embedded embossing also. It is really a great technique. It looks great and it isn’t hard to do. I’ll be here tomorrow to check out the card!

  28. I haven’t tried embedded embossing yet. I keep meaning to try it but….. Can’t wait to see your card tomorrow!
