On the Grow with The Paper Players

It’s Sunday and time to play with The Players! This week The Paper Players are hosting an “Anything Goes Challenge”.  Feel free to enter any NEW creation.  As for me, with the hectic week that I have had, I opted to design something relatively quick and easy.  If the layout looks familiar, it was featured as a Buried Treasures card.  I hope you enjoy the little Scooter from On the Grow!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips:

  • Double emboss!  The Daffodil Delight panel was zipped through the Big Shot with the Finial Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  It was then brayered with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  The result is texture with a lovely shine!
  • Watercolor! The “Scooter” image was inked with VersaMark and stamped onto Very Vanilla card stock.  It was then heat embossed with Black Stampin’ Emboss PowderBlender Pens and inks were used to quickly color the image.  Cherry Cobbler, Basic Gray, Cajun Craze, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive hues were used.

  • Vintage touches!  The edges of all layers were distressed with Crumb Cake ink.  The Seven-Sided Tool from the Cutter Kit was used to rough up the edges of the image mat.  Instant speckles were provided by the Color Spritzer Tool and a Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Marker. Instant watermarks were provided with the Watermark stamp from the French Foliage set.
  • Diamonds, Pearls and Lace! For just a touch of sparkle, Dazzling Diamonds were added to the seat, headlight, and tire rims of the scooter.  Basic Pearls bedeck the Scallop Trim Border Punch and accent the flowers.  A snippet of Victoria Crochet Trim was threaded through the Old Olive Satin Ribbon Bow and was also scrunchied!

This card will be heading to the Chicago area to Brittney Jade Colangelo of The Schach Pack, my downline group.  Brittney just celebrated her birthday.  I hope she likes it.  How about you?  What do you think about today’s card?  Please let me know in your comment today.  And remember, if you ever have a question about the cards that I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away.  Until next time…

  4. Love it Ann! Great colors, adorable stamp and I love that shiny embossed background–what a great technique! ((hugs))

  5. I love this! It is so girli perfect! The ribbon with the lace, and the passion pink with the flowers in the back…and a scooter yet! Hmmm. That is the color I want for one!!! I love the colors and the designs (from the folders etc.) that you used. Ann, you can make the most plain (I guess I should say original) piece of paper come alive by the treatment of it…and then putting it together with doing the same thing with another and then with the ribbon(s)! I find with your cards, so many need NO sentiments (which is unusual for cards) because how you create brings so much to mind. What a great thing to be able to evoke that in the eyes of your audience! I hope your day has been great. Samara xox
