It’s Thursday, and time to play at PPA! This week, the Pals at Pals Paper Arts are challenging you to use Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz and Crumb Cake for Challenge #88.
I inked up images from the Growing Green and Four Frames stamp sets, and did a little stamping on vellum. Of course…there are Pearls! You know me way too well! I hope you enjoy a slice of Pear Cake Delight for the Pals!
The Stampin’ Schach Stampin’ Tips:
- Emboss on vellum! For a touch of sparkle and shine, the “Rose” image from Growing Green was inked with VersaMark and stamped onto White Vellum. It was heat embossed with Iridescent Ice. Daffodil Delight ink was then brayered onto the back before snipping out the roses with Paper Snips.
- Texture! The lovely “Flower Frame” from the Four Frames set was tinted with a Blender Pen and inks, and then zipped through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. A Basic Pearl accents the “O” in “Love”, which comes from the sentiment “With Love and Caring” from the Thanks for Caring set.
- Snip it! The “Leafy Frond” from Growing Green was stamped twice onto Naturals Ivory card stock and tinted with a Blender Pen and Pear Pizzazz ink. One was snipped out, arranged diagonally in the lower right-hand side of the card and popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals. The other formed the main image mat.
- Pearls! Basic Pearls form perfect flower centers!
I have been asked before what I do with all of the cards I make. I mail many of them out, and in fact several of you have received a card from me. This one, however, will be given to a former student who is getting married next month. I hope she likes it! It is prettier in person, as the Iridescent Ice really shines! As for the pearl question from yesterday…well, now you know!
What do you think of today’s card? It is a little different from my usual cards, and not my typical color selection. Please let me know in the comment that you leave. And as always, if you have a question about the cards that I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…

Pear Cake, yummy! It is too close to dinner to be thinking of such delectable delights!! Great card, Ann. Thought I could see the transparency of vellum on the roses; love the light touch of pink and green on the other flowers and greenery. The embossed frame is a very nice touch. And, of course, the pearls! My card for Brody’s neighbor is “in the mail”. TFS, Ann, have a great day!
I love this card! Nothing at all like the peek! Such great details! Looks like there is a touch of a pink to it – is it just my monitor? I love how it looks! I have to try the vellum stuff. I bought some but have yet to use it. Pearls, well of course you had to have some! Love how you used them. I make a Pear Cake but it looks nothing like this – but it is very easy and yummy! Ann this is BEAUTIFUL! Not sure why you said it’s not your style, because other than ‘vintage” your style, to me, is BEAUTIFUL!!!
Love the vellum flowers with peals. Love the threaded ribbon trim edge, and the little O pearl is too cute set atop the square lattice embossed label! How cute it that? I really really like the muted overall tone of the colors… just beautiful! Hugs.

I have so many thoughts running through my head about this card. I love the embossing with Iridescent Ice on the vellum. The soft colors and layout make this a wonderful wedding card. Might have to steal some of the ideas for my son’s wedding card!!! And how in the world did I guess NO PEARLS? I took a chance that you had restrained yourself!
I like how you built your card. I never think to do that. I also noticed the cross stitching that you did on the scallop punch. I was right on the pearls. They are your signature item!Beautiful card.
Beautiful as always my friend! Love this!

Stunning card Ann! You are making a vellum believer out of me *smile*
Leslie said … Absolutely gorgeous! Your former student will be more than thrilled to receive a card of this caliber. While you may think you were out of your element with this color combination, this card shows otherwise.
This is such a beautiful card! Love all the details. Cutting adds to much to cards. I have to do more of that. I was checking out the PPA challenge. Can you use other colors along with the choosen ones. I see Whisper White. Couldn’t find the rules on that.
Ann, I have visited you before and you have such a beautiful stlye. I am now following you from SC. Thanks for following me.
Yum – a definite thumbs up on this Pear Cake Slice! Wonderful details and I love how you made it a wedding card!
I love it!! Love the pearls too. 🙂
First, I can’t believe you cut all those images out! You’ve talked me into trying distressing, but don’t even think I’m going to start cutting stuff out. Nope. Not going to do it. :o)
I love that your cards always highlight new techniques or new ways to use products. I have never embossing or brayered on vellum, but it looks great!
I tend to shy away from Daffodil Delight, so this will definitely be a challenge!
This card was worth the wait! Absolutely beautiful! Love those pearls and your blog!
I’m sure they will love this card. These colors work so well together. I especially love the coloring on the leafs!
This is so pretty! Love these colors together! I am always so inspired by all the details you put into each card and I love that you explain exactly how you achieved each look. I love vellum on a card and your brayering the color on the back is just beautiful! I am definitely going to try that technique! I just knew there would be pearls on your card and I love how you used the three little ones to make the flower center. You always have such wonderful ideas!
