“Buried Treasure” is a new Friday feature. What are “Buried Treasures”? They are cards from my archives which are deserving of a revisit. Whether it’s a layout, a technique, or maybe just an underused stamp set, these cards are like a pirate’s booty of ideas worth a second look. Today’s card first appeared on The Stampin’ Schach on June 17, 2009. CLICK HERE to see the original post with all of the delicious details!
Layout: This card has a layout that is perfect for showcasing Stampin’ Up!’s variety of Designer Series Paper. In fact, I have some ideas just dancing around in my head on how I would love to use this sketch!
Technique: Watercoloring with Blender Pens and inks, with a few free-handed trees added for good measure, is always a classic!
Update it: Baker’s Twine? Antique Brad? Fanfold Flower? Since 2009, Stampin’ Up! has added so many fabulous embellishments. Or if you like the button, update it with a bigger one.
I hope you liked today’s “Buried Treasure”. I would be anxious to hear how you might change this card up. Is there a particular stamp set you think would work well with this layout? A certain Designer Paper? Let me know what you think in your comment today!

Nikki, just send me your address and I will get your rhinestones winging their way to you!
Brody’s Neighbor
A few posts ago, I mentioned Brody’s “Neighbor”. “Neighbor” is battling an illness that has curtailed her activities drastically. One of the things she enjoys is watching the Twins through her window. We make certain to position ourselves where she can see us through her window as we play “Dog Show”. After reading this post, Tionya mentioned in her comment, and Pauline agreed, that “Neighbor” might appreciate a card to brighten up her day. Several others of you have emailed me in support of this idea. If you would like to send your cards to me, I will make certain that “Brody’s Neighbor” receives them. In fact, we will have Brody deliver them. I would suggest cards such as “Hello”, “Just a Note”, or another light and cheerful greeting. Since getting well may not be an option for “Brody’s Neighbor”, “Get Well Soon” cards would not be a good choice. EMAIL me if you would like to participate.
Need a Summer Mini? Just EMAIL me your address and I will drop one in the mail for you! If you are already a customer, one has been ordered for you through Stampin’ Up! and will be mailed to you directly through the mini catalog mailing service. Expected delivery date is prior to May 1st.
Once again, I will be looking forward to your redesign ideas for this card in your comments! And as always, if you have any questions about the cards that I make or the techniques that I use, don’t hesitate to email me! Until next time…

Ahoy, Matey! This is a fun new feature! I have that stamp set and have never inked it up, sigh. I love the beautiful scene you created, wowza! Great tips you shared about updating the design, too.
I would love to send a card to you to deliver to your neighbor, too. What a sweet idea to share a little day-brightener. 🙂
I love your buried treasure idea! You are so nice to collect cards for Brody’s neighbor, too!
I have always liked this card. I don’t think the watercoloring on the pheasant can be beat.
Oh my goodness, Ann! Your coloring is absolutely amazing. It is a beautiful card and a totally different side of you. I love it.
You are so sweet to pass on the award. I wish I hadn’t posted the ugly card I made yesterday right before I came to visit here. LOL I should go put a warning on it or something.
This is so beautiful, love your watercoloring.
Wow Ann,
I love this card. I wish I lived closer, I would love to learn how to color like you. Just Stunning!!
I love the idea for buried treasure.. Can’t wait to see your next one.

What a beautiful card – I hadn’t seen this before so thank you for bringing it to my attention. Love the dark colors – so perfect for a masculine card.
Love the idea of Brody delivering cards to your neighbor. It’ll definitely be a great “pick-me-up” for her.
Very Beautiful card Ann! I love how you are bringing back cards that you’ve made. They are very classy and beautiful.
Ya know….I don’t think I’d change a thing. It’s beautiful just as it is. And what a great job you did with the coloring.
What a great card. It certainly deserves a revisit. I missed that one the first time around. I find it is always fun to go back and see what was created in the past! TFS
Ann I LOVE the buried treasure idea. I remember the original well, as it was soon after I became an SU demo (may) and YOU were one of the first blogs I followed. I think this card redo would look cool with the ship from the stamp set “Open Sea” in summer mini. I like the layout for a male card too. {I have yo ho ho TONS of pirates booty galore when it comes to under used stamp sets! Wow}.
WOW!!!!! I would definitely agree with you on this being one deserving of a revisit. Gorgeous masculine card, love the colors. TFS
I love your idea of Buried Treasures! Since I am relatively new to your blog it will give me a chance to see some of your past creations! This first card is beautiful, love the papers, your coloring and the added scene you created! And what a great idea to have Brody deliver the cards to your neighbor, I know it will brighten her day!
Ann, I hadn’t seen this card before. What a beautiful scene. So glad you ‘revisited’ it.
this is soooooo pretty! maybe some twine???? It’s great just the way it is!
What a great masculine card. Your idea of revisiting previous posts is wonderful as many of us would not remember it or would enjoy trying to duplicate it. Thanks for the wonderful ideas you share with all of us.
Your buried treasure is wonderful and look forward to seeing more. What a wonderful idea to have Brody deliver the cards to your neighbor. I am sure that it will cheer her to know that a lot of others are thinking about her.
Ann, what a great idea – buried treasure. I think that is a wonderful concept! I am so pleased you showcased this fabulous card. I missed it the first time around. I love the coloring behind the pheasant. Amazing.
