It’s Thursday and time for the reveal of today’s Pals Paper Arts inspiration card! This week we have a fabulous color challenge. Baja Breeze, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso combine to form a perfect trio of softness. Today’s card was designed specifically for my niece and downline member, Leslie. Leslie and I recently worked on her wedding invitations, which featured butterflies. What better wedding card could I design than one which features this lovely sentiment from Butterfly Prints and this lacy butterfly from Thanks for Caring.
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips:
- Joy fold, joy fold we adore thee! I don’t often make joy fold cards, but after receiving a gorgeous example from my stampin’ friend, Anne Marie, I felt the style was perfect for the type of card I wanted to make. Afraid of the folds? Here is a video to tell you where to score!
- Distress! Crumb Cake and Soft Suede inks were applied with a Sponge Dauber to the edges of Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, and Baja Breeze card stocks to add definition. Speckles were added courtesy of the Color Spritzer Tool and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Marker.
Glitz and Glam! A total of 24 Basic Pearls adorn the Scallop Trim Border Punch, accent the butterflies and nestle in the petals of the Baja Breeze Vintage Flower Adornment. Early Espresso Taffeta Ribbon adds shimmer and shine!
I hope that you enjoyed my return to videos. Yes, I do know the difference between my left and right, but Muffy the Boxer picked that particular time to start chewing on my paper cutter… hence, the temporary distraction. Maybe one of these days I will learn how to edit!
So before you head out, won’t you please leave me a comment and let me know what you think of my joy fold card? Of course, if you ever have a question about the cards that I create or the techniques that I use, I am only an email away. And no, I didn’t forget! The lucky winner of the pearls is:
#6 Babe O’Mara…
I love the colors in this sneak peek. I also love pearls too, Ann. Thanks for the chance to win. Your blog is always an inspiration to me.
Babe, please email me your address, and I will mail your pearls out right away. Until next time…

Where do I start. Okay, first of all your card is gorgeous! I love the colors for the PPA challenge and how you chose to use them. Thank you for making the video. It is so nice knowing how to make the card that you did. I loved hearing your voice. 🙂 As for Muffy…..I guess she just wanted Moms attention how cute is that.
Ann, I love the DP that you used the stamp set and I love the way that you put the tiny pearls onto the flower. Thank you for sharing all that you do.
Mary
Just beautiful Ann!!! Love everything about it – what more can I say!
Great video and the card is so beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW (that’s supposed to be “WOW!) Sometimes your cards make me want to cry they are so amazing, so I thought I would just yell “WOW” instead!
Love how you pearled up that vintage flower adornment, Ann. I need to try this card fold!
Gorgeous card Ann! I love the joy fold and how you’ve stamped the butterfly twice! It looks like it’s flying! Wonderful job. hugs, Nance
Such a shame you have no creative talent! OMG! ANN!!! All the parts to this card and every one exquisite! The blending of textures and patterns is perfect and then of coarse there’s always that ”Ann touch“ Incredible.
Mike
So that is what you sound like! :))) I really like the video and the simplicity in which you teach this card. And, of course, the card itself is gorgeous. Pet the twins for me – even if they do puppy things. :)))) Thanks for blessing my day. 🙂
Ann-Oh my goodness -you explained this card so easily ! Thank you I am so glad you decided to do a video. Your card is beautiful! You are truly the Pearl Queen!
Kathy
Gorgeous card! Thanks for the video – you make it look a lot easier that it seems to be! I will have to try one for sure! Thanks for the video! How about listing the cardstock measurements separately from the video for us – I am going to have to replay the video several times to make sure I get the measurements right and the scoring lines. Am I correct to assume that the piece under the flower was texturized usin the embossing folder? It almost looks like some unique creamy white ribbon that was wound on there somehow. I love the texture of it. What great details with the pearls too! Love it! I was waiting for Miss Muffy to get into the act! Henry always flips his nose under my elbow and flips my arm out for attention. I was just hoping to get a look at a little nose or a paw! I can just hear her now – “Mom, I wanna help. This is a girl card and Brody can’t work on girl cards!”
Chris R. from Iowa
Beautiful! Love how you stamped the butterfly and, of course, your use of pearls! I’ve never made a Joy Fold card. Thank you for the video.
p.s. I’m sure Muffy wanted to get on camera too!
You certainly turned card stock into a “joy” to behold. Love that dsp and the colors. I could have used you when I was figuring out the measurements for my joy fold card. Like you said, a very easy card to make.
Gorgeous as always!! Loved your video tutorial…..I may just make one tomorrow!! Thanks for your inspiration ANN!!! 😉
Knew I was going to love this card, Ann! I just ordered the Elegant Soiree DSP this week. The Scallop Trim Border Punch and pearls add such an elegant finishing touch. Thank you for the Joy Fold video, it is one that I have wanted to try. Muffy wants to be just like Mom when she grows up; so much fun that she shares your love of the craft! TFS, Ann, and have a wonderful day.
This is so beautiful! Love all the details!
What a knockout card!! Gorgeous as you! thanks for sharing the video!
Your video makes the daunting joy-fold card look simple. I’ve never understood it to be as uncomplicated as you show it. Your card is truly beautiful–the colours, the combination of papers, the brilliant use of the embossing folder (I had to search to find it), the perfect distressing accents, and the beautiful embellishments add up to perfection.
What a beautiful card! This is my favorite DSP. Thank you for the great directions to make a Fold card. Now the I know the exact measurements, I will have to try and make a card.
great video ann-I have never made a joy fold card-but I love the look of it-yours is another elegant beauty-hope you share your niece’s wedding invites-would love to see them
Leslie said … Wow! I am greatly honored to have such an exemplary work of art dedicated to me. Thanks to our team work, my wedding invitations are equally as stunning as this beautiful card. Thanks for sharing the how to video…and yep, I took notes. 🙂 Sometimes that’s the hardest part, trying to figure out what size paper didn’t areas are.
I’ve decided I’m a major fan of those flowers and adding the pearls to them is like icicing on the cake.
What a great card! It is very pretty and look at all those pearls. I have some coming today so I will probably fall in love with them as well. Thanks for the video. I will be sure to create a joy fold card now that I have seen how easy it is. Thanks for sharing.

Ann, this is just gorgeous! The color combo is stunning and all of your details are absolute perfection. The pearls on that flower..eeek…can’t wait to try that out. 🙂 Hooray for a new video, too. I heard the gentle sounds of Muffy in the background at the end. Lol! Thank you so very much for the shout-out. I’m so excited that my little folded card gave you some inspiration for this beauty. Beyond fabulous, Ann!
This is so beautiful, love the colors and that you used the two different sets together with this dsp. I can’t wait til after work to come home and watch the video! How fun.
The card is so soft and romantic. Love the joy fold…am going to try it today, since I am still under “Dr. Ann’s” orders to rest and stamp. :o)

Beautiful Ann and all the colours that I love. How did you do the ribbon under the flower? Inquiring minds would like to know. Thanks
Beautiful card, as always! The video is great…I am so glad to explain so clearly. Next time Muffy decides to “help” you could catch her in the act with the camera? I would love to see her assisting! I miss my fur babies and enjoy the antics of yours!
Thanks for the video (which I haven’t yet watched) on a joy fold card, Ann. It’s one I’ve never tried. Time for me to try something new!
