Vintage Color Challenge for The Paper Players

It’s Sunday, and The Paper Players have a wonderful color challenge planned for you…Blushing Bride, Baja Breeze, Early Espresso and Very Vanilla! I opted to go the vintage route, using the new Strength & Hope stamp set. This set will be available starting May 1st, when the Summer Mini Catalog is released. Stampin’ Up! has partnered with The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® (BCRF). For every one of these stamps sets sold, Stampin’ Up! will donate $2 to BCRF. What a noble cause!

The Stampin’ Schach Stampin’ Tips:

  • Think outside the box! The Blushing Bride scallops are actually punched from the Build a Cupcake Punch. Do you recognize the icing? How cool is that! A vintage touch is achieved by distressing the edges with Soft Suede ink and accenting the scallops with Basic Pearls.
  • Who can resist the emboss resist technique? The Flourish from Strength & Hope is heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Crumb Cake ink is sponged on in a circular motion over the embossing, and the excess removed. It’s so easy!
  • Glitter, glitter everywhere! The Butterfly, which was stamped in Baja Breeze, receives a liberal dosing of Dazzling Diamonds.
  • The Hope medallion is surrounded by Baja Breeze Glass Glitter.
  • It’s all in the details! Victoria Crochet Trim was smudged with Soft Suede ink. A Blushing Bride mini-heart was punched out with the Two-Step Owl Punch and popped up using a Mini Glue Dot on the Flourish. Corners are curled using the Round File from the Distressing Kit, while Linen Thread forms cross-stitches on the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch.
I hope that you enjoyed today’s card. Isn’t this a fabulous set? Please let me know what you think by leaving me a comment. And of course, I love answering questions that you may have about the cards that I create or the techniques I use. I am only an email away! Until next time…
