It’s time for The Paper Players Challenge! Your task this week is to have Fun with Fabric! According to the Players’ definition of fabric, anything woven will qualify…ribbon, lace, crochet trim and more, as well as traditional fabric itself! As for me, I used all three patterns of the new Springtime Vintage Designer Fabric. I hope you enjoy my “Fabric Friends” card and the three fabric techniques that I am showcasing today!
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips:
Technique One: Fabric with Adhesive Roll! To make the fabric Lattice, I simply ironed the adhesive onto the fabric and zipped it through the Big Shot with the Lattice Die. Next, I peeled off the transfer sheet, and ironed the Lattice onto Not Quite Navy card stock. The texture is phenomenol!
- Techique Two: Fabric Yo-Yo! Making yo-yo’s are a breeze when using the Big Shot and the 3″ Circle Originals Die! All it takes is a simple running stitch around the edge, pulled tight to pucker, and the yo-yo is complete! I topped mine with a Rose Red Big Designer Button and accented it with Always Artichoke and Rose Red Seam Binding and Victoria and Chantilly Crochet Trim.
- Technique Three: Tear and Fray! A 1-1/4″ strip of fabric was ripped from a larger piece. Using a needle to separate the fibers, I simply removed a few threads of fabric at a time to achieve the frayed edge. I then adhered part of the strip to the card, and with the remainder I made a simple bow which I attached with Mini Glue Dots.
- Glitz and Glam! A trio of Basic Pearls adorn the lattice, while a quartet accents the sentiment. A Trinket Key adds the finishing touch!
I hope you enjoyed today’s card. My favorite part is the fabric bow. Won’t you please leave me a comment and let me know what fabric element you like the best? And remember, if you ever have a question about the cards that I create or the techniques that I use, I am only an email away!
Hopefully Blogger has resolved the issues that have been a problem over the past few days. You can imagine how panicked I was when I went to check my blog Saturday morning, and it was gone!!! Can you say “Heart Attack”? Luckily the problem resolved itself around noon. Whew! Until next time…

Absolutely Gorgeous Miss Ann! Of course using my favorite Lattice die really makes it a Wow for me as does the use of the fabric. I love cards that have unexpected textures and fabric definitely accomplishes that. All the different elements you made use of also really add to this cards appeal as well. Now if it was just a tiny tad smaller I’d be tempted to mount the whole thing on a pin and wear it – lol. As it is I’d settle for framing it to add a feminine romantic touch to my very utilitarian bedroom/office!
Hugs and thanks for sharing the inspiration once again. – Jean

Three words for your card. . .AWESOME, AMAZING, INCREDIBLE! This is a work of art. What a great idea to run the fabric through a cutter. It came out beautifully. All the detail on this card make it a true piece of eye candy for sure. Beautiful work! Best, Curt
Ann. This is my favorite card EVER. OMG. I love it!
Beautiful card Ann with the fabric. I just returned from the Regional in Vancouver with some great ideas that incorporate fabric. We had such a great time.
Oh my gosh, I didn’t even realize at first that the lattice was fabric! Love it! Especially with the touch of pearls. And, yes, the fabric bow is my favorite too! Incredibly creative card.
I do believe that this card combines the most elements of any I’ve seen. The fabrics, lace, ribbons, key charm, and all other elements come together so beautifully. There should be a prize for this. And everything blends so well.
You are so inspiring for me! I’ve been following you daily for a couple weeks! You are now on my top 5 list for daily blog checks! I’ve scraplifted a few things here and there…hope you take that as a compliment! Thank you!

Fun way to use the fabrics, Ann! Lots of stuff to look at, touch and admire here!
This card is so lovely….. What a beautiful combination of techniques. Thank you for designing the Yoyo puff. It brought back so many wonder memories.
Wow, Ann! This is beyond fabulous! I have never played with fabric before and you shared some really great tips to try! I love the frayed bow and the iron-on technique best. (the yo-yo is adorable too, but I got scared when sewing was mentioned) Awesome card, as always! ๐
Absolutely gorgeous card Ann! My favorite part is the fabric yo-yo with all its pleats and layers–lovely! Love how the lattice fabric pops against the navy–just beautiful!
Wow this is AMAZING. the details are mind blowing! So pretty from start to finish right down to the yo yo! The lattice background is great, never would think to do it out of frabric. Still waiting to get some fabric, haven’t ventured there yet. Ann this is Just beautiful.
Beautiful card as usual. I really like the idea and look of the fabric lattice die cut. Great idea.
love the fabric flower with the key, that is so cute.
Gorgeous! Again, all in the details! My favorite is the latice fabric on the blue and the touch of pearsl. I knew they had to be there someplace. All this fabric and minimal stitching with just the running stitch for the yo-yo piece. Great job! I know you punched out the oval and stamped friend and there are pearls but is that a flower cut out of the fabric or what is that? Or, did I miss something while reading and drooling – hey, I get it from the basset! Great job Ann!

Hey Ann,
What a great job you have done, highlighting the fabric! It is on my list for sure! This card is stunning with all of its gorgeous details!
Wow, Ann! Where to start on this eye-popping card? First, the texture is amazing…all those layers of different texture give the card such a rich feel. Then, the harmonious color scheme draws you in. The pearls are perfectly placed, and then that sweet little key just sets brings it home. I can tell a LOT of work went into this card. And I LOVE it!
