Stylish Blogger and My Top Picks from the Mini

Recently I was honored by Diane at Rubber ‘n Rafters and Sabriena at Little Miss Scrapalicious with the Stylish Blogger Award. Today I would like to thank both Diane and Sabriena for their kindness. You might remember that a few weeks ago I had been tagged with this same award from Nikki of Bond Girl Creations. One of the stipulations is that I need to share eight things about myself. Here are the original eight facts I shared, and here are eight more:

1. I am a tea drinker. I prefer Irish and English Breakfast, Earl Grey and some flavored teas like Cherry Vanilla and Peach. But I also love Diet Mt. Dew!
2. I could listen to my son play his trumpet forever. Brady and I share a love of classical music. Brady gets his trumpet prowess from his father…I can’t read a note of music, although I always wished I could play an instrument.
3. Fall and winter are my favorite seasons. And I don’t mind snow as long as the highways stay clear.
4. I love a good mystery…whether it is a movie, television program, or a book.
5. My husband, Kim, does the laundry and a lot of the cooking in our household. He does a much better job than I do at both. This started as a necessity from when I was teaching, since I always had so much paperwork. I would grade papers and write up lesson plans, and he would start the meals and laundry. He discovered that he loves to cook. As for the laundrey…neither of us are thrilled with it!
6. Sad things…movies, songs, TV programs, books and even sad commercials, like those for the Humane Society, always make me cry. Brady and Kim are able to predict when the waterworks will turn on! I was even a mess when saying good-by to my sweet friends at the Stampin’ Up! convention. (Love you Mike, Ginger and Kylie!)
7. Teaching is my passion! Whether in a classroom filled with high school students, or on a stamping blog, I love sharing my knowledge with those that are eager to learn. I truly mean it when I say that I am only an email away if you have questions about the cards that I make or the techniques that I use.
8. I can always find the humour in any situation!
And now to pass the award on to eight more stampers…and there are so many deserving stampers out there! I could receive a million of these awards and never get everyone mentioned!
Please stop by and say “Hi!” to these talented stampers!

  1. WOW ANN!!!!!! Thank you SO much!!!! I don’t know what to say, I can hardly believe it. My Goodness. Just yesterday, on my way back from seeing my daughter off for another 8 month tour to Israel and about 20 countries, I was thinking of you on the drive home and wanting to ask again if you were having a week long retreat in the future? I would want to know and save my money to attend (from Canada.) Please let me know Ann…It is something that would take my stamping UP many levels! PLEASE GIVE MUFFY (and poor BRODY who probably feels SO guilty) big doggy hugs and of course I will send them poochy prayers. I am SO sorry muffy might have to undergo such a horrid surgery…I know Ann how this feels…and I am so sorry for you. You have been too much heartache with your puppy-heart! And joy too though with these rascals!! I will send you and your family prayers too – I don’t imagine you, Kim or your “other pups” are sleeping much out of concern. Please keep us up to date. All the best and again, thank you for the honor of your recognition.

  2. Ann, thank you so very much for the award! I am thrilled and very honored!
Aaah…. you gotta know that I cry at those ads, too. In fact, I still refuse to watch Bambi after I was traumatized by my original viewing at 4 years old!
Love that you shared the other facts, too. We share a common bond in books, too

    Awesome choices from the mini!
    Hugs
    Jaydee

  3. I love your “fun facts” Ann! I’m so jealous that Kim loves to cook! My hubby clean with me…but cooking happens far and few between! LOL Sounds like a keeper! ;)…Oh…and I weep at most TV shows, Movies, and commericals too….your not alone! HAHAHA

  6. Ann, congratulations! If there was ever a Stylish Blogger it would be you. From your Vintage Style cards to your helpful tips. Thank You for all that you do for newbies

  7. Congrats Ann and you certainly fit the words “Stylish Blogger” I loved reading your 8 things especially the “sad” ones. I am with you on the humane society ones. I can’t even watch them. I am too much of an animal lover and I can’t stand to see a hurt animal.

  8. What fun to be able to listen to Brady play the trumpet. I would LOVE that but like you, I can’t read a lick of music. And you have trained Kim right! As for waterworks, I am right there with ya!

  9. Ann,

Thank you! I feel so honored.

We share a lot of the same ‘interesting things’ about ourselves. btw, Earl Grey is my favorite tea.

I’ll post the award this w/e.

  10. I love a good mystery, too, and have the whole Agatha Christie collection, which are my favorites!
Thanks for sharing more about yourself.

  11. Thanks for thinking of me, Ann. I loved reading more about you. The Humane Society commercials get me every time… as well as certain ads for Hallmark and Folgers. 😉

  12. Oh, I cry like that too. Wes and Steve just shake their head at me. lol I’m glad I’m not alone!!!

  13. great details about yourself and the mini favorites. i’m known to cry during commercials, too! hugs, m

  14. It’s always nice to learn more about you, Ann, such as your ability to cry at predictable times. Me too!!!! My family looks right at my eyes during certain tv moments, expecting to see a shine.

  15. A very “Stylish Blogger”, indeed! I enjoyed reading your fun facts. The Humane Society commercials also touch my heart. The tears immediately spring to my eyes when they come on. We are huge supporters of the HSUS and 3 of our fur-kids were adopted from the shelter. Emmitt was “rescued” before he made it to the shelter. I am SO excited for all of the new-ness in the Occasions Mini. Your Top Picks are aesome! 🙂
