Be prepared for a contrast in styles as I present two cards today! One is cute…one is classy, and both are easy! Enjoy!
Valentine in Blue

The Greeting Card Kids stamp set is so versatile! Bedecked in Baja Breeze, with a Basic Pearl oval frame, our little Valentine girl is ready to steal your heart! The simple, yet lovely, layout was inspired by a card I received from the talented LeAnne Pugliese, one of my design team friends from The Paper Players. This card also features Springtime Vintage paper and the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder…both from the Occasions Mini.

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips:

  • Hand tinted! Give Designer Series Paper the subtle look of hand-tinting simply by using a Blender Pen and ink. In this case, a selection from Springtime Vintage was tinted with Pretty in Pink to coordinate with our little sweetie’s heart!
  • Frame it! The oval image mat, which was created with the Big Shot and the Ovals Originals Die, was adorned with Basic Pearls strips. How easy…how elegant!
  • Vintage lace! Old World charm is as easy as adding a snippet of Chantilly Crochet Trim to the Baja Breeze Seam Binding!
Hugs and Kisses

This card oozes sophistication, with its rich colors and classy design. The modern XOXO set from the Occasions Mini is combined with the always beautiful Always set.

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips:

  • Emboss for effect! The Heart from the Always set was inked in VersaMark and stamped onto Cherry Cobbler card stock. Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder was applied and heat embossed.
  • Layers! XOXO was inked in Cherry Cobbler and stamped onto Very Vanilla. Mats of Cherry Cobbler and Basic Black allows the image to pop right off the card!
  • Layer your labels! Once again, the sentiment is accented by layering the Curly Label punch onto Cherry Cobbler and Basic Black labels which were cut horizontally and adhered to the original.
  • Glitz and Glam! A Basic Black Satin Bow adds a touch of elegance. Three Basic Pearls accent the heart!
I hope you enjoyed the contrast in styles! My husband selected the “Blue Girl” as his favorite, while Brady picked the “Red Heart”. I would love to know which of the two you liked the best. So please, settle the controversy in the Schach house…leave me a comment as to which one is your favorite! And remember, if you have any questions about the cards that I create or the techniques that I use, I am only an email away!

  11. Such a cool blue card for Valentine’s Day and a classy, red classic! Terrific job on both! I could never pick just one.

  12. Once again these card are beautiful! Love the blue one! It is gorgeous!
How is Muffy doing? I hope she is better. My yorkie Tox had the same accident last week but luckily it is just a sprayed knee but if it happens a lot he’s gonna need surgery.. so we’ll see! Give us some news of Muffy! And we give her planty of recovery hugs!

  13. Stunning cards! I love black and red together so I guess I would sway towards that one; I love blue too …

I hope Muffy is doing better! She’s in our prayers!

  14. I’m no help!!!! I like them both for different reasons. I too would not select the Blue first BUT I believe you have swayed me! BLUE IT IS! That is one great card. I am an old fashioned Red, Black & Cream kind of gal at heart.

  15. I’m loving the Red Heart – absolutely gorgeous!!

  16. They are both fabulous, but the blue girl is my favorite!

  17. Oh Ann, I love them both! What a great job you didi with the “blue” card – I love the way the DSP is set in the center of the tulip frame. and, the embossed heart from the Always set is gorgeous!

  18. Hi Ann…I love both of these cards, but would have to go with the Valentine’s card…for all the reasons you list. It IS so sophisticated…and the use of the black is gorgeous! Though, I love the pearls around the darling girl – and that folder edge shows up once again! Beautiful, just beautiful!

  19. Choose one card as a favorite? Hmmmm. I think I will go with the little girl. The card is beautiful. I love how you colored the dsp. No maybe the heart – such a classic look. Oh heck, they’re both great. I’ll let others make the decision.

  20. The blue card is just so sweet, but I love them both!

  21. Beautiful as always. But easy?! Maybe for you!!! Your coloring is unsurpassed!
    Mike

  22. Your attention to detail is amazing!

I like the Blue Girl because it showcases your fabulous watercoloring skills.

    Hugs, M

  23. Love that pearl frame!!! The Cherry Cobbler card is oh so rich. Two totally different cards that are both so lovely. I’m sorry, I hate to vote against Kim the Husband or Brady the Son, but I do lean toward the second card.

I hope Miss Muffy is on the mend.

  24. Both cards are beautiful, but I think I’ve got to go with the little girl and the pearls. There is something quite endearing about the card.

  25. My favorite Ann is whichever card I am looking at for the moment! they are both wonderful and so different.

  26. Love both your cards! As always awesome work!

  27. These are both such beautiful cards. I LOVE that tulip border folder!!!

  28. I just love that little girl, but truly there is no way to pick ‘A’ favorite Schach card! Gorgeous!

  29. They really are both special but I am a bit partial to the red/black card! The detail work on the little girl is beautiful, though.

  30. Wow, Ann! I love both of these cards! The pearls around the greeting card girl are such a creative touch. I think it is my favorite of the two. It is your classical vintage style. ~Bonnie~

  31. Sigh – a difficult choice. They are lovely and I love them both! I would choose them according to who the recipient is.
    Cynthia Stevenson

  32. Ann, your cards simply amaze me! You are so talented!!!!

  33. I’m surprising myself by going with the blue as my fave, because blue is not a color I gravitate towards. But I think the oval frame of pearls grabbed me by the collar, so I’ll go with that!

  34. Ann, I love your cards. The greeting card kid edged in pearls is just darling! And I enjoyed the colors you used with it. Great job!

  35. Beautiful cards – I can’t pick but my favorite part of #1 is the ring of pearls and in #2 that fabulous black bow!

  36. How fun to pick the best card out of the 2 best cards!!! My first answer is always “red”. You can’t go wrong with red. But the “blue girl”, omg, the pearls around the oval frame. How on earth do you have such patient to “line” them up??? For that, I give that one as the my pick.

  37. These are both so fabulous! Love them.

  38. Wow. BOTH are spectacular. I have go with my theory of “WHO” would get it. Now the little girl (so darling) would be perfect for my granddaughters and the Heart would be perfect for anyone, especially since it will also work for a masculine card too…IMO.
Just look at those pearls… I LOVE your embellishing on both as well.

  39. I love them both! But those pearls and black stamping on that heart really got my attentions. Hugs,

  40. I love them both, it is very hard to pick a favorite… I like the red one because it’s classical… But I love the little girl one because it is just so different and out of the ordinary for Valentine colors… (Red/Pink) So since this is a new year and I want to get out of my comfort zone more..lol I guess I will have to choose the little girl.. She is just to cute.. I got my tea ready and now I am going to take the tour.. Thanks for your inspiration Ann.
    hugs
    Darlene-Joy

  41. Sorry Brady I am with hubby…I like the “Blue” one just a tiny bit more then the “Red” heart card. Both cards are very nice and yet so different.
    Yvonne

  42. Both cards are stunning but I have to say, I prefer the blue girl. It looks like a treasured memory from my grandmother’s house. Such sweet memories there. Thank you for the reminder!

  43. oh Ann, you can’t just pick one. They are so diffrent in style that I love them both. THe greeting card kid is a classic, and the Red Heart is so modern!

  44. They are both lovely, Ann…but I have to confess, I like the red heart best.
