Our final Pals Paper Arts challenge for the year features a sketch by the talented Margaret Moody. Since I was in need of more Christmas cards, I pulled out the Greeting Card Kids set and this wonderful paper from the Jolly Holiday collection. And believe it or not, it is relatively quick to make! In some respects I am saddened that this is the last holiday card I will be making this season…but I look forward to playing with my new Occasions Mini sets!
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips:
- Watercolor! Blender Pens with Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler and Soft Suede inks make quick work of this adorable image from Greeting Card Kids. As my final step, I added Crumb Cake shadows. If you need a refresher on this technique, my video tutorial can be accessed here.
- Bling! Basic Pearls for buttons and ornaments, a Basic Rhinestone for the star, and Dazzling Diamonds for fur trim add a festive look to any holiday card. Hint: I use an old paint brush to paint a thin layer of Tombow Adhesive over the area I want to glitter. It’s oh, so easy!
- Simply Scrappin’ isn’t just for scrappin’! The cute Always Artichoke ricrac is from the Christmas Cheer Simply Scrappin’ kit! Just peel and stick!
- Winter Roses! The Rosettes from the Occasions Mini are easily applied with Mini Glue Dots! Don’t they remind you of winter roses? How pretty these would be if “smooched” with a little Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz! The leaves are simply punched from Always Artichoke card stock using the Two Step Bird Punch.
Thanks for stopping by on this eve of Christmas Eve. If you are like me, you have several last minute errands to run and things to do! I really appreciate that you have taken the time to stop in for the reveal of my PPA inspiration card and I hope that you enjoyed it. Please leave me a comment to let me know what you think. And as always, if you have any questions about the cards that I make or the techniques that I use, I am only an email away! Remember to stop by tomorrow, Christmas Eve, when I will name the winner of my last Blog Candy of 2010. I am excited to find out who it will be! Don’t forget that you can comment today until Midnight CST. Until next time…

Ann, This is an awesome sketch! As always I knew that I’d love this card (especially since it’s one of my favorite stamp sets)! I have a funny…you were talking about the eve of Christmas eve. Well at our house my girls call it Christmas Adam….because Adam came before Eve! LOL *Merry Christmas and Many Blessings-Tana Conley http://tanaconley.blogspot.com
Simply love it!!!! The polka dot paper just really adds a fun note to the card. Those roses, were just perfect too. Can’t wait to see what is in the new mini, esp. these roses. As always, your coloring is wonderful. Love the touches of glittery snow and the embelishments on the tree! I knew I would see a card with this little cutie on it before the end of the year!
Happy holidays to you and your family!
Chris R. from Iowa
Your whole card is lovely… and I really like how you colored her… especially the scarf!
I’ve almost quit coloring as it’s so time consuming, but I love to color, so I gotta remember blender pens and go for it. Adorable card.
I just love that set! Those rose buds are just perfect…another thing to add to my list! Thanks for sharing your wonderful creations!
Your sneak peak reveals never disappoint. I guess you could say this would be your “clean and simple” but on a few levels up. Beautiful and sweet at the same time. Have a wonderful Christmas.
Sweet as can be!!! Just adorable!
Ann, this card is adorable. You’ve done another fabulous job of showcasing the Greeting Card Kid stamp set. Think I’ll have to add that one to my collection soon. Thanks for the tip of using a paint brush to apply the glue (should have been a no-brainer but obviously not for me). Love everything about this card! Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Wow! Beautiful looking card! I love the colors. Great combination of the image and the roses.
SOOOOOO cute! I just love this. You are so fab, my friend. Have a wonderful holiday and a happy and bright new year! XOXO
I love this sweet little card. I knew I would when I saw the tree in the sled in your sneak peek. What a talented artist you are, Ann. Have a very Merry Christmas!
I’m sure this card is stunning IRL! It is gorgeous on-line but with all of your bling and textures, I’m sure it’s amazing in person!!!! Thanks for sharing your wonderful talent!
Love the Christmas card with the Greting Card Kid stamp set. I am going to order for next year, don’t know why I didn’t this year. I’ve seen so many adorable cards with this set.
You always do such a nice job with details. The shadow adds dimension to your figures. I love the glitter, pearls, and oh so much more! Have a blessed Christmas. I look forward to seeing your artwork in 2011. Peace.
Another amazing creation. I love everything about this card – especially the photography which just makes your cards jump out and greet you. Thanks for blessing my day and I wish you and your family a very Blessed Christmas and happy 2011.
Another wonderful card, Ann! The colors are beautiful. I love how the shadowing pops the images and the glitter on her coat and hat adds such a wintry festive feel to the card. The bling on the tree and the roses add such a perfect finishing touch. I must order the roses! Hope the twins are cooperating with Christmas preparations. Hugs, Pauline

My darling Ann…
I just came online to check the bank before the big day, and decided to drop by and wish you and yours, a Very Merry Christmas from us all over the pond.
Things here have been a bit stressful – what with a Cocker that doesn’t want to get into the car to go for a walk and just runs back inside, a silly Spaniel that decided she wanted to get out just as I was closing the door, and trapped her foot, and me just being generally worn out with all the prep – so I am just doing a bit of blurfing to wish my good blogfriends a great time!
I have several things here to post onto you, least of all a present or four (!) and a few cards, but the post here is all a mess with nothing being delivered as it should and things being delayed.. yes, we’ve had snow.. and frost.. and the bloomin’ country has come to a standstill!
Give those beautiful little pupsters a big furry, sloppity kiss and cuddle from Aunty Jo here in England, and Scooby, Truly and Holly.
Wishing you all the best. Catch up with you soon my darling. xx
Your card is **GORGEOUS**! I love that darling girl and she is even prettier with your amazing coloring. Merry Christmas to you and yours! Anne

Hey, you are one step closer to Clean & Simply card : )
I know it’s not simply to master the skill of watercoloring – you did a wonderful job! However, I would not called this card a vintage one : )
Thanks for the inspiration, and the chance to win something “yummy”!
This is just adorable, Ann! I have loved every card you have made with this set. I also love how you use the Basic Pearls so effectively. I want to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and thank you for all of the inspiration you have given me this year! ~Bonnie
