PPA Peek and a Wee Bit of Blog Candy

Can you believe that this is my final PPA Sneak Peek of the year? Next week, the Pals Paper Arts Design Team will be unveiling their favorites for each month in a fun feature which we are entitling our “Best Dressed List”. Of course, there is no disguising which stamp set I used for this card! And obviously I used the new Rosettes from the Occasions Mini! But please, tune in Thursday for the full reveal!

Just a Taste of Blog Candy
At the start of this month, I vowed that I would offer just a small bite of blog candy with each sneak peek…like a little present from me to you…and this week is no exception! So your comments today and tomorrow will earn you a chance to win the following:

  • Butterfly Prints—new, clear mount
  • Basic Pearls
  • Basic Rhinestones (after all, you need to bling those butterflies)

You will have until Midnight, CST on Thursday to make your comments. The winner will be selected by using a random number generator and named in Friday’s post. You will then have 48 hours to email me with your address.

For a little inspiration, here is a card I made using my Butterfly Prints set:

A Special Thank You to Yvonne, who is so graciously providing me with a tooth fairy image for The Twins’ scrapbook, and a thank you to all of those who volunteered to come to my rescue! I could have had an army of fairies! My husband was so funny this morning. He wanted to know what in the world I had posted about today, because I had a ton of emails! I know that I have said it before, and I will say it again, our community of stampers is so special and is always so ready to came to the aid of those who need something.

As always, your comments are important to me. And don’t forget that your comments today and tomorrow earn you the chance for Blog Candy. Since we don’t really have a card to comment on today, maybe we need a comment starter. How about, what style(s) of card is your favorite to make? Mine is vintage and distressed, but I would love to be able to make clean and simple cards. Until next time…

  2. Hi Ann, Like you, I really love the Vintage look. It seems lately also that im constantly sponging everything. Thx for the chance! Ginger

  3. I love to have tailored looking cards. Not necessarily simple, but crisp. Thanks for the opportunity to win blog candy. Happy Holidays to you and your family – including the pups of course!!!!!!

  4. I like to make simple cards but ones that really catch your eye. When I have the time I will spend more time on a card really embellishing it.

  5. I love using all of the Stampin up coordinating items, it makes the card look so pulled together. Such a pretty card!

  6. I like cards that are all coordinated, paper, ribbon and ink, that why I love SU. I love how neat and precise all your work is. Thank you for sharing with us. I especially enjoy hearing about the dogs! My pups also enjoy sponging and distressing, and my cat loves to add his paw prints to my work. (He also steals stamps!)

  7. Ann, I always look forward to your PPA cards (actually all your cards!), they are so very inspirational. I love vintage cards and yours are always so eye catching and beautiful. I just bought a SU spritzer but haven’t used it yet, however it is going into action this weekend for a friend’s birthday card, so wish me luck LOL!!! As always, thanks for sharing!

  8. I can not wait to see the rest of this card

  9. Hey Ann, Lovely card!!!!I am in Davenport visiting family for Christmas and today Mike and I drove down by Ottumwa and then onto my sisters in Donnellson. I thought we were going to come through Burlington and I was going to look you up but we went back to Davenport late and up 218! Darn! Have a wonderful Christmas! Bev http://www.stampingwithbev.blogspot.com

  10. * Don’t enter me! *

I think your butterfly card is darling, and I’m so glad you had help with your Tooth Fairy needs!

My favorite card to make is…whatever is new to me, lol! I’m a technique junkie and I love trying out new products and new styles. I especially love cards that move or pop-up! But really, I just like to keep it fresh and new. I love seeing someone’s card and going…How did they DO that??? And that is why stamping has lasted as a hobby….it never, ever gets boring!

  11. oops, I left the cemment on the wrong post….

    here it goes again….

What style is my favorite or what style am I capable to make? LOL!!
I love your vintage style, however I can’t ever make it, I tried, really, but it all turned out….#$%^@#$….B-A-D : (
So I ended up with clean cards : )

  12. Hi, I like to do different types of cards. If I see one I like on someones site, it inspires me to try and make it with different colors, or embellishments.

  13. I was wondering where the Greeting Card kid or whatever the name is for the holidays! So, this must be it! I still think they look like the Campbell soup kids.

I love layers and distressing probably the most. I just wish I was better at all kinds of styles. I tend to keep adding and then muck it up!

So glad the tooth fairy situation is taken care of! It made for a good post! Love their first day of school story!

    Have a great holiday.

    Chris R. from Iowa

  14. I love vintage cards, anything that’s shabby looking, lace and glitz (glitter, pearls, anything shiny). Thanks for a great bag of candy!

  15. Your blog is such an inspiration keep up the GREAT work!

  16. I’m very curious about this card….though I’m sure it is just as amazing as all of your cards. And the butterfly card is beautiful! So glad you let me make it at your house!

  17. Thanks again for opportunity for “yummy” blog candy! You are so sweet! I really like to make cards that look clean, with straight lines, and all matching (thanks so SU products!). However I do CASE people quite often and love using pretties and punches!

  18. Adding pearls, glitter…really any of those extra touches makes the cards special. I’m always looking to add stuff and the blog candy looks amaizng. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Happy Holidays!

  19. Ann, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family. Thanks for all the wonderful projects.

  20. I like to make clean and simple cards with a little bit of bling; don’t like putzy cards or coloring…

    Candy

  21. Quick and simple is my favorite!

  22. I would love to be able to create vintage cards like you but I seem to be a more clean and simple girl. I figure if I look at your work long enough, someday the vintage fairy will smile down on me. Looking forward to your last PPA challenge of the year reveal. And love the blog candy.

  23. My cards must have texture and sponged or distressed edges. No simple white cards for me once embossing folders and punches came into my stamping world!

  24. I like making the fancy fold cards with sponging and bling; try to do CAS but just have not mastered that yet! Looking forward to your newest inspiring reveal tomorrow, Ann. Thanks for the chance to win some bling. Merry Christmas!

  25. I loved your blog today; it’s truly relevant to me right now. At my local demonstrator’s card night last week, I won the Greeting Card Kids stamp set, and picked up the butterfly punch I had ordered the previous month. It would be great to have the butterfly stamps to go with it. ‘Bling’ is my new word for the year and I would love to win some!

  26. A favorite? hmmmmmm, I’m kinda all over the place, but I really like to make punch art. Of course I love your vintage! Glad you got your fairy. I am still so thrilled and excited with my blog candy, thank you so much! I love your butterfly prints card, gonna have to kopykat that one, lol.

  27. Thanks for the chance to win! My favorite style is classy with layers and bling!

  28. Love all the bling – and ribbon is one that I love – but these pearls are fast getting to the top of my list. Love your sneek peeks – TFAS

  29. Leslie said … The PPA looks most interesting. Hmmm. What really intrigues me is the interesting material behind the items. The butterflies card is “to die for” gorgeous! It reminds me that the shortest day of the year is now gone and we will stay light a little longer each day.

  30. I know I have said this before (at least I think I did – the last time you posted this card) but I just LOVE the card you made with the butterfly prints stamp set! It is fabulous in so many ways.

Merry Christmas to you and your family and best wishes for the New Year!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  31. My favorite type of card is sort of a combination of Vintage and Shabby Chic. I love the old world look to cards with just a bit of glam. Hope you have a very beautiful Christmas and a great New Year!

  32. Hi Anne,
I just love your vintage & distressed look! I think I am too new to really have my own style. I am very creative and do like whimsical things. I am a new “Pal” so you will be seeing my style develop. You are such an inspiration to me. Your cards are meticulously done and always so beautiful. Can’t wait for the reveal!!!
    Joan!!!

  33. I love the card you made with Butterfly Prints! the purples are awesome together and I have to have some of those antique brads! thanks for the chance to win!!

  34. I like the butterfly card. Thanks for a chance to win the blog candy.

  35. For me, the harder cards are the clean and simple cards. I always seem to add a little bit here or a little bit there. Pearls are definitely my friend. My friend said that she can always tell I made a card if it is distressed. Thank you for sharing your wonderful cards and for the opportunity to win some candy!

  36. I love making all types of cards but clean and simple is probably the kind I make the most. thanks for the chance to win!

  37. I like to make cards that have a clean yet layered look. Does that make sense? A bit of ribbon, gems or glitter are fun to add to. Thanks for a chance to win some fun stuff.
    jmniffer

  38. I LOVE vintage and distressed, and I HAVE to sponge all my edges!! But I’d really like to get better at making masculine cards!! They are SO NOT my forte!! Can’t wait to see your entire card! And thanks for offering blog candy!!

  39. Ann, gosh.. I wonder what set you used ๐Ÿ™‚ As always, great sneak peek, can’t wait to see the full card tomorrow!
I am so pleased you got your tooth fairy request filled. (excuse the pun!) I don’t own one, so couldn’t offer up any help!
BTW.. I did love the story of the “babies” at school. Trust Muffy to be the class clown!
    thanks for making me smile
    hugs
    jaydee

  40. I love the card you posted! I like how you made the butterflies 3D. The colors are great, too. I like vintage cards. I like to add layers to outline areas and to sponge the edges. I don’t like “grunge-style” anything. Your work is always very beautiful and inspiring. Thank you for offering blog candy, too.

  41. Love the tree in the sneak peek!

The butterfly card is so pretty–purple is my favorite color.

Yvonne, you are an angel for your fairy contribution to The Twins’ album.

  42. Loving the peek! My cards seem to always change, just what ever comes out, lol. I like layers and elegant cards, but am loving clean and simple lately.

  43. I like the simplest of cards so layering and ribbon does that for me,

    Deb

  44. Ann. Your card is so fluffy and soft just like a bed of snow. I want to just climb aboard that sleigh and be off into the fun with the prezzies and trees! It reminds me of childhood going to cut the tree in the woods with my family, each of us on our own ski-doos and my parents on theirs with a sleigh shaped like a santa trailer just like you’ve done!!! Thanks for those memories. Gosh, your art always hits the soul….AND I SO want to know how you did that 3D fluffy wuffy sno!!!! Can’t wait for the PPA to see what it is from your pic!

  45. My favorite stamp…hmmm, big background stamps! I don’t have very many but I like to use them – inked in crumbcake or a lighter pastel on the inside of my cards, or outside as a do-it-myself kind of dsp.

  46. I love vintage! But end up making more traditional. I hope to have more time this winter to try my hand at the vintage. Love your tutorials. Glad to hear the puppies are doing well. Have a very Merry Christmas!

  47. What a gorgeous card Ann! Love all the purples! …and I can’t wait to see what your sneak peek reveals. I’m so glad to hear you found a fairy image!…I knew you’d have a few to choose from!

    {SMILES}

  48. Making cards using Designer paper, layering, and some bling, is my favorite. I like to make use of dies at certain times too. So many different styles interest me. Love vintage…
Can’t wait to see what you did tomorrow.

  49. I guess I would call my style traditional. I like vintagy images but I can’t seem to do the distressed thing. I love embellishments, layers and bling:-) Your sneak peek is ,as always,intriguing:-) Thanks for sharing and for the chance to win the great candy!
    Inky hugs and Merry Christmas!

  50. Like you, Ann, I’m a vintage, shabby-chic kind of gal. If it’s vintage, I’m all over it.

  51. I love using designer papers and my punches or dies. I also love it when my outside/inside sentiments create a ‘funny’ statement.

  52. Yay, Yvonne to the tooth rescue!

With regard to the blog candy question, I LOVE to look at vintage/shabby chic style cards, but my hands always want to create something CAS. I guess it’s quicker, and I am a slow stamper, so I need to go the quicker route. ๐Ÿ™‚

  53. I love making cards that are layered and take extreme time to make…….uh…….I mean I like the way that card turns out, and I usually make that because I can’t settle for simple and easy! It looks so great when everyone else does it, but not for me. Bling is a definite addition to any card!
Thanks and have a great Christmas week!!

  54. I see you’re using more of the new item in the mini, rosettes. How fun. Can’t wait to see the rest of the card.

  55. Cannot wait to see the rest of the card.

Your cards are always so inspiring and beautiful.

  56. I like clean-and-simple cards, just because those fit with my skill level and insistence that everything is straight and centered if possible. ๐Ÿ™‚ I need to push myself more to get out of that mindset so maybe I’ll try a vintage-style card this week. Distressing…shudder.

Excited to see this one as it looks like Greeting Card Kids!

  57. My favorite card style is clean and simple. I do not like to add a lot of layers or embellishments to my cards. Your sneak peak is great! I absolutely love that set! Can’t wait to see the full card!

  58. I love using DSP and embellishments (which includes BLING!!) It’s a must! You are so talented, Ann, and I love to see your blog everyday for inspiration! Thank you ๐Ÿ™‚

  59. I love to add bling – ribbon, pearls, rhinestones – that’s why it’s very hard to make man cards! My goal next year is to focus on masculine cards! Thanks for the sneak peek – looks very cute!
    Michele

  60. I love making vintage cards and I can’t hlep myself- almost all of my cards are distressed in some way! And I looooove accessories. Thanks for the chance to win!

  61. Good morning Ann! I can already tell that I’m going to love the card for tomorrow’s PalsArts challenge. It’s one of my favorite stamp sets. ๐Ÿ™‚ You know me…my favorite type of card is the same as yours….vintage and distressed. But, I also love to try my hand at making a ‘cutsie’ stamp set into a vintage project. I love to call it ‘vintsie’ style. Can’t wait till tomorrow’s reveal….until then, God Bless, Tana Conley http://tanaconley.blogspot.com

  62. Ann, I love your sneak peaks, and this weeks is awesome. I am so glad Su gave us pearls and rhinestones so we can add all those little touches. Again you amazed me, can’t wait to see the whole card.

  63. Love to make quick cards for my busy life style. I like to add a quick button, rhinestone, and a little ribbon. Thanks for a chance to win. Have a wonderful Hollyday season!!!

    Happy Holly from Texas

  64. I am getting better at making cards using more embellishments, I think joining card swaps has helped with that. Glad you found your tooth fairy image

  65. Hi Ann! I love your style and wish I could make cards like you. I so often CASE others but when I do go out on my own I am a very clean and simple girl.

  66. Oh My Goodness! I can’t wait to see the reveal tomorrow!
I guess my style would be some bling & ribbon! I use ribbon on every card with the exception of a “man” card! LOL! Thanks for the chance to win this awesome giveaway! That stamp set is on my list of gotta haves! JUST MAYBE I will win it!

  67. I love to add bling to my cards and scrapbook pages. This candy would be wonderful to win. Can’t wait to see the rest of the sneek peak.
    debbieanng@yahoo.com

  68. I like to make shabby chic cards with anything aged-looking getting my attention. I love to bling things up, so I could really use the candy you are offering this week. Thanks for a chance to win.

    Babe

  69. I love to make any card that includes coordinated ribbon in some way or another, but now I’m getting into more bling (glitter, rhinestones, pearls). Can already tell your card is going to be adorable with the sneak peek you gave us!
