My Favorites for 2010: May and June AND a Special Favor

As we continue our Stampin’ Schach retrospective, we are ready for May and June. Once again, clicking on the name of the card will take you to the original post. Enjoy another look at my favorite cards of 2010!

May
Life Is a Matter of Moments

Pale Plum and Sage Shadow are now history, but this card is a reminder of the beauty of these colors. As for updating, I know that there are other lovely colors which could be substituted. Baja Breeze is one which I would select. Of course, with the addition of Basic Pearls to the Stampin’ Up! arsenal, I would definitely add a few!

June
Our Journey

In a Word was one of my favorite little sets from the Summer Mini. Of course, there are a number of sentiments which could be substituted. And can you imagine how beautiful this would be for Valentine’s Day with a Cherry Cobbler flower? The tutorial for making the Eyelet Flower is located in the original post for this card. These types of cards are not meant to be mailed, but rather hand-delivered to that special someone!

Thinking of You, Bella Toile

Created for my first Dirty Dozen gallery in March, but actually featured on my blog in June, this card could be easily updated with Early Espresso. Once again I reached for Bella Toile, which seemed to be one of my “go-to” sets earlier this year.

Strange Request for the Boxer Twins

The Twins had a fabulous “first day of Obedience School”. What was supposed to be an hour long lesson ended up being 1-1/2 hours. We worked on sit, stay and down. Brody was the star pupil and teacher’s pet, while Muffy was…as you might have guessed…the class clown! Oh, my! However, their “teacher”, Barb DeAngelis, said they were both very smart puppies! And lest I forget…big for their age! They were able to watch Barb’s dog, Gracie, go through the exercises…plus they got to have “recess”! They were two tired puppies when they returned home, and promptly settled down for a nap.

And I do have a strange request that I am hoping that one of you can help me with. I am, as you might guess, working on a scrapbook for The Twins. I was lucky enough to find two of Brody’s baby teeth. I would like to create a “Tooth Fairy” page…but I do not own a tooth fairy stamp of any kind. I know that Stampin’ Up! currently has a tooth fairy stamp, but I hate to buy a stamp to use just once. So here is my plea…is there anyone out in blog land who could create a little card with a tooth fairy on it? It could either be the current stamp or a retired one. I would forever be indebted to you, and I would gladly reimburse you. Just something very simple stamped in black on white. No ribbons or embellishments would be necessary. If you can help me, please email me.

So there you have it…three of my favorite cards, and a strange request! Your comments are important to me, so let me know if you like my choices. And if you have a question about the cards that I make or the techniques that I use, I am just an email away! Until next time…

  1. Ann, i just love your “blasts from the past”. The dimensional flower is gorgeous. I sooo wish I could help with a “tooth fairy” stamp for the twins. 🙁 I am impressed you found a few baby teeth, though. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas! Thanks for an amazing year of inspired creativity! 🙂

  2. I *wish* I had a tooth fairy stamp for you, Ann! I’m sure you will have an image soon!

  3. Beautiful choice of cards. I don’t know how you pick which ones you want to share! Congrats to the twins for putting in all that hard work on their first day. They ARE smart dogs. How proud of them you must be.

  4. Hi Ann! Love all your cards…impossible to choose a fave! I don’t have a tooth fairy stamp, but if you don’t get anything, I would be happy to try to draw you something. It wouldn’t be SU, but it would be a Stampin’ Bean, LOL! Just let me know and I can doodle something for you anytime. XOXO

  5. Going back over the year of your creations has made me realize just how much you inspire me. Thank you for the gift of yourself and have a very blessed Christmas.

  6. Ann these cards are just as awesome the second time as they were the first. Sooooooooooo pretty all of them.
I do have the fairy set from the mini and haven’t even used it yet. Not sure if that’s fairy you would want, but I’d be happy to loan it to you or just stamps some images and let you do your own magic.
I do have some toothfairy “stickers” that are not SU, but you are welcomed to them.

I just need an address and I’ll get them in the mail by week’s end.

  7. Great picks…totally agree, they are both gorgeous! I have a fairy princess stamp…it’s not SU but I’d be happy to send it to you, just let me know. Merry Christmas.

  8. I wanted to share what I used to keep my dogs puppy teeth in for a scrapbook page. I use the little plastic containers that SD cards come in! they are the perfect size! and I’m sure you know this, but be careful with smart dogs. they get into more mischief! “dummer” dogs don’t think about what to get into as much. I have a “dummer” dog and I love him!

  9. I love the cards the cards you chose. They are all so beautiful. I don’t have a tooth fairy stamp, wish I could help. I am so glad the twins did so well on their first day of school. I just knew they would. *smile* Hugs, Carla

  10. Ann, they are perfect choices, they reflect your wonderful style beautifully. Thank you for taking us on a trip down memory lane and showcasing these beauties again.

  11. I so love your flower embellishments!

Glad The Twins enjoyed their first day of school. Isn’t it wonderful when ‘kids’ take a nap when they get home?!?!?

Sorry, but I don’t have any stamps that would qualify for the tooth fairy page.

  12. Ann, your cards are ALWAYS breathtaking! Gosh, I just love them. I’m so glad you’re showing us your ‘old’ ones, since I haven’t seen them or cruised all the back to the beginning of your blog yet.

No tooth stamps for me; sorry!!
Glad to hear all went well with the pups’ first day of school.

  13. Ann, you have such talent and your cards from May and June are beautiful. I like how you have suggested the new colours that could be used and yes, there are the pearls.

Good luck with your scrapbook on the life of the twins and I wish you much happiness and joy over the Christmas season and into 2011

  14. Gorgeous cards. I really enjoy seeing “the best of Ann, 2010!” (although it must be hard to pick). Please keep us posted on the tooth fairy card. I have my fingers crossed. Hugs, m

  15. No toothfairy image…but I just wanted to pop in and say good choices for your picks. 🙂 They were my favorites, too!

  16. Those are stunning cards…I remembered them both! Love the butterfly one especially!

I so wish I had a toothfairy image so I could help you out but unfortunatly I don’t. I’m sure someone out there will have it though!…I’m so glad your first day went well…I bet Mom wanted a nap when you got home too!! 😉

  17. I don’t think I ever got a tooth fairy stamp, but will check out my fairies and see if any of them are tooth fairy-ish.

Love these two cards you created and now I am really kicking myself for not getting “in a word” lol.

First day of training sounds like it went really well. They are going to be obedient soon! lol. But I imagine they are always going to love scrapping with you.

  18. if you don’t get any responses can you use the small fairy carrying the flower from the A Little Bit of Magic set??? If so let me know will send you what you need

  19. I just have to stop by and let you know that you are remarkably good at what you do. I’m a crafter by nature as well, but I tend to stick to sewing needles and glass etching. For some reason, I have absolutely zero talent when it comes to the scrapbooking/stamping genre. I commend anyone who can master the ink and paper! I stumbled through your entries and I am absolutely in awe of what you create, I’ll definitely have to catch a class of yours sometime and finally face my fear of being dominated by the paper arts.
