The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips:
- Sweet touches for Sew Suite! Add a touch of realism by wrapping the Spool image with Linen Thread and add a needle! Adorn the Button Card with real buttons! Add a few stitches of your own with the Scalloped Ribbon Border Punch and Linen Thread!
- Hello! Hello from Pendant Park was inked in Early Espresso and stamped onto Naturals Ivory. It was then punched out with the Modern Label Punch. Does it look shorter than usual? It is! Simply re-punch it after the initial punching.
- Layer the labels! The Modern Label Punch was punched out of Tangerine Tango. The ends were cut off, and adhered to the back of the Hello sentiment.
- Pompoms! This trim is easily attached with Mini Glue Dots or Sticky Strip, and adds instant texture!
- Pearls! A single Basic Pearl accents a Tempting Turquoise Decorative Label for a finishing touch!
I love this set! Besides being cute, I can definitely see how it could be used to make a vintage style card, too. As for the Pompom Trim, I was apprehensive about how easy it would be to attach. However, after making this card, my worries have been dispelled!
The Skater Card Saga

Stylish Blogger Award
I was also pleasantly surprised by Nikki Bond, “Bond Girl Creations”, when she awarded me the Stylish Blogger Award.
Nikki was one of the first bloggers that I visited when I began stamping. Her passion for vintage mirrors my own! I thank her for thinking of me! This award comes with some fun stipulations. They are as follows:
1. Thank and link back to the person who awarded you this
2. Share 8 things about yourself
3. Pay it forward to bloggers that you have recently discovered
Here are my facts:
1. I grew up on a small farm in Illinois. My parents raised Arabians and Quarter Horses. I showed horses until I left for college. I still look back on those years fondly.
2. I am a dog lover. I received a puppy for my first birthday, and have not been without a dog for longer than six months. Although Boxers are my breed of choice today, that first puppy was a blonde cocker spaniel, who lived for 15 years.
3. I taught high school science for 34 years, until retiring in June, 2010. My favorite class to teach was Physics.
4. I have hazel colored eyes. When I was younger, my hair had a distinct reddish tint. Now it has a distinct gray tint!
5. I survived a pulmonary embolism. It was on the first day of school eight years ago. I take a blood thinner daily.
6. I am relatively new to stamping. I became a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator on February 1st, 2009. I had started stamping only two months earlier.
7. I do all of my stamping at the kitchen/dining room table. People have asked me to post pictures of my stamping studio. I have to chuckle. I would love to have a wonderful creative space.
8. I love classic rock music of the 70’s!
Here is a sampling of bloggers I have recently discovered. These ladies have a clean and classy style which I wish I had:
Pam
Angela
Colleen
Patti
I am so happy that you stopped in to visit. I had so many things to share with you today! Plus, I am anxious to find out what you think of this new stamp set, paper and trim! Let me know what you think by leaving me a comment. And of course, I love to answer your questions, so never hesitate to email me if you have a question about the cards that I create or the techniques that I use. (And to answer one of the questions from yesterday’s post, the element on the lower right hand side of the card was simply the Holly image from Peaceful Season…no glitter, just Basic Rhinestones in place of the berries.) Until next time…

Your card is so fun!!! I love it. That spool is tops and is the Schach facts. I got that from Regina… *smile* Hugs,
Very cute! I love the twine around the spool but I especially love the facts about my favorite Schach! XOXO
Pretty nice post. I just stumbled upon your blog and wanted to say that I have really enjoyed browsing your blog posts. In any case I’ll be subscribing to your feed and I hope you write again soon!
I love your card Ann! This is not a set that really speaks to me but you really made a stunning card with it. I love your color choices and the twine detail on the spool is super cute! I really enjoyed reading your fun facts too….a pulmonary embolism????!!!…Geesh!…I’m so relieved you pulled through! Scary stuff I’m sure!

This is adorable – I love it…….and anyone who has handled horses should be able to corral two teeny weeny boxers! 🙂
Looks like some fun, new products. Love the spool you made–so creative.
Glad you were able to (fairly) easily repair Muffy’s playfulness.
Congrats on your blog award–so well deserved. And, it was interesting to learn some facts about you.
Ann! You just made my day! Thank you so much for the shout out! I was completely surprised to see my name there!
I love your card as usual! I wasn’t so sure about that stamp set, but you’ve shown it off beautifully! Love, love, love what you did with the spool of thread!
I was really laughing at your skater card story! Especially the part about the pearls. I had a card mysteriously lose a few pearls and ribbon the other day!
Oh Ann, your card is Sew Pretty! Love the colors you chose to work with. I wasn’t sure about this set but you’ve really showed it off beautifully!
Wow, you’ve made my night! Thank you so much for recognizing me on your blog. You are such inspiration to so many of us! I am envious of your stamping techniques and creativeness!
Wow! Love this card, I can’t wait to get my pre-order. Glad to know the pom trim is easy to work with.
Beautiful card. I love the spool of thread. Congratulations on the award!!
Love reading the scoop on you! I do not like machine sewing but love needlework so this was a fun card for me. The button card looks just like one you would have found at the store that my mom would have made me a dress with! So, I might have to buy this set when it comes out. I wonder if I looked hard enough I would find a picture of something my mom made with those buttons. If you used green ones, most likely! Glad the card was resurected. Chat later… Thanks for sharing a new set with us.

I’m really surprised that you’ve been in stamping for such a short time. With all your expertise and creative inspiration, I thought you’d been doing this forever.
Your blog today was certainly a wonderful Monday morning read. Thank you so much for awarding me one of the Stylish Blogger Awards. In fact, when I saw the Patti I assumed it was someone else until I clicked the link. The other surprise was the photo. As soon as I read Hudson River I checked out Stephanie’s blog and found she lives no more than 10 miles from me. And yes, I love the bright cheerful card you did today. So creative using the needle and thread on the spool. Sorry this is so long but I’m doing happy typing. Thanks again.
Beautiful card Ann. I wasn’t interested in this set until I saw your card and now my interest has peeked. It was interesting to read about you as it gives a bit more insight into a person who you only know through cyberspace.
Ann, you know what I’m going to say! 🙂 I love, love, love your “Sew Adorable” card. The spool of thread with the needle made me completely giddy with excitement for this set. You know how to add the MOST amazing details!
I had a little chuckle when I saw Stephanie’s gorgeous photo and the words “The Skater Card Saga”…the first thing that popped into my mind was the “Twilight Saga” movies. Haha! Have a great day! 🙂
That is such a cute card and stamp set! What a pretty photo your friend sent you.
Lovin’ the sneak peeks of the upcoming mini!!!! I’m saving my order for Sale-A-Bration and I know it’s going to just about kill me, lol! Oh well, I’ll just have to make do with the gazillion other goodies I’ve got!

What a darling card you made. The bright colors accent it well! Oh now my list is even longer for Santa since I wasn’t thinking of getting this set until after I saw your post.lol
I love learning more about you.So sorry to hear of your pulmonary embolism!
I am surprised you have been stamping for such a short time. You have such gorgeous cards.
Nikki is so fortunate to have such a beautiful view out of her window. Such a striking picture! It looks like you used this picture to make your skater card.
Hmmm…I didn’t think I wanted that sewing stuff as I have a bit of a hate/hate relationship with the sewing machine my mom gave me a few year ago. You made it look awesome and something everyone must have. 🙂
Congradulations on your blog award. I love this sneak peak! Is it January yet? lol.
Oh, Ann! Thank you for awarding ME! My goodnesss! What a surprise. I was happily reading along, enjoying the story of your refurbished card, and seeing the cute new goodies coming up from SU, and the pretty sunset photo….and boom! There was my name. Bless your heart. 🙂
Have a great day, Ann, and thanks once again. 😀
I love this card Ann! Love how you’ve combined all the happy colors and the pom-pom trim is FAB-ulous. Can’t wait for my order to arrive!! Loved hearing more about you too. Thank goodness the skater card was re-born without too much effot!
You actually make this stamp set look appealing! Well done.
