The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips:
- Add texture in no time at all! It literally take less than a minute to zip a Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and card stock through the Big Shot. For this card, Very Vanilla card stock and Petals-a-Plenty were paired together!
- Shapes add interest to your image mat! Once again, Mr. Big Shot was my friend as I quickly popped out an oval using the Ovals Originals Die.
- Heat embossing doesn’t have to be “hate” embossing! Clean-up is a snap when you use the Powder Pals! I just brushed over the surface of my card stock with an Embossing Buddy, stamped my Contempo Christmas “tree” image in VersaMark ink, positioned my card stock over the Powder Pal, and sprinkled a little Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder over the image. The excess powder was funnelled directly from the Powder Pal back into the original container. Hint: Before using the Heat Tool, remember to move your jar of embossing powder out of harm’s way!
- Perk it up with Pearls! How easy it is to “glam” up the tree with Basic Pearls! I wish I could decorate my own tree this quickly!
- New Product! Waffles aren’t just for eating! A strip of Gold Waffle Paper makes an instant ruffle around the oval image. I simply adhered it to the back of card stock with SNAIL Adhesive.
- Icing on the Cake! Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon, like all of Stampin’ Up!’s satin ribbons, makes a fabulous bow!
Waffle Paper certainly adds a different aspect to this card. And the nice thing is that it is quick to apply. My biggest problem with it was keeping my ruffle even…I don’t see straight, and that is a problem for a card maker! But that is my problem…not a problem with the paper itself!
I hope that you enjoyed my second attempt at Clean and Simple this week! Please leave me a comment to let me know what you think. And please…don’t hesitate to email me if you have questions about the cards that I create or the techniques that I use. And a special message to my fellow Iowan Chris…please send me your email address and I will send you instructions. Until next time…

Ann – this card is exquisite! It’s such a tangle between nostalgia and mid century textures and colors, with just a dash of contemporary style. Incredible!

Hi Ann – this is a unusual and fun card. We all have someone who needs a different type of card. I have one such person on my list! I thought about that tree but wondered what could I do to pick it up a notch – you solved that for me! Now, what else can we do with this waffle paper? Thanks for all the inspiration!
I will E-mail you my address.
