With the end of summer quickly approaching, I wanted to make certain that I shared this cheery card with you. Created for the May Dirty Dozen gallery entitled “How Does Your Garden grow?”, this card features bright colors, some of which are now retired. However, there are definitely wonderful substitutions which can be made!
- Paper go bye-bye? Don’t cry! I used Brilliant Blue and Summer Sun on this card. But can you image how stunning it would look with Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight? I can hardly wait to try it!
- Coordinate your punches and dies! The Two Tags Bigz Die was zipped through the Big Shot with Real Red card stock. It was then texturized with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. But don’t stop now! Add a yellow Scallop Circle Punch for fun!
- It’s all about the details! Paper piercing adds interest to the scallops, but look what happens when Linen Thread is added to the mix! And it is so easy…just long stitches across the scallop topped off with an Itty Bitty Button. Three additional Itty Bitty Buttons accent the Real Red 5/8″ Satin Ribbon.
Large simple designs, like Awash with Flowers, cry out for bright bold colors and strong details. Don’t be afraid to go for the bold!

Another stunner Ann. This is the first card I’ve seen using the bolder, brighter colors and I LOVE IT! Thanks for blessing my day. 🙂
That is a gorgeous card. For some reason I don’t use this set that much, but WOW that card just changed my mind. TYFS

I repeat what the 17 above me said!!! So bright, cheery and vibrant and I so love your flower stitching and bow center. You know I have to try that. I especially loved what Mike said, too. lol Hugs,

Bright and cheery, just like adorable YOU! XOXO
Wow! The colors that you used are such happy colors. Your right about the Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight being a wonderful alternative. I love that you thought to use the Tags 2 under the round scallop they look awesome together. Love the emroided look on the round scallop. I am in awe of all of the detail that you have used to make this card.

gorgeous card anne even if some colors are retired
I love the thread in that scallop punch! AWASH sure is growing on me!!! Great card!
Beautiful card, but wait! No shading? No speckles? Is this really Ann? It’s gorgeous, but so different from your signature style!
Mike
You constantly blow me away with your creations. I love this card. You have the most amazing techniques. So much CASEing material on your blog,
The way you used the tag with the scallop circle was way cool! I didn’t realize that they could work together. And the stitching on the scallop circle was a great touch too – you clever girl!
Ann, it doesn’t make any difference what stamp set you use or what colors you use…every card you make is a masterpiece! I LOVE this! My favorite part is the tag, but there are so many wonderful details. ~Bonnie~
The boldness of the card is so stunning. I like the idea of using the primary colors like you have. Since I didn’t see it the first time, I’m glad I did this time. I may have to try something using those colors.
Very pretty card Ann! I love it! It makes me smile!
GORGEOUS!!!!Your blog is wonderful!!! I’m now a follower from SC!!!
Wow Ann, I agree with the others, this a WOWZER card. I can’t stop looking at it. So cheery in the primary colors. I LOVE the tag with the scallop flower, I think that’s the WOW for me. The itty bitty buttons are so cute too. TFS
