Hello Baby for the PPA and Baby Boxer Pix

It’s Thursday…and what a glorious Thursday it is! Not only is it time for the Pals Paper Arts challenge, but I also have a hint about exciting changes that will be taking place at the PPA. Plus, I have exciting news of my own. I AM GOING TO HAVE A BABY!!! Now that I have your attention, I really am going to have a baby…a new fur-baby! When I saw these “happy” colors of Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise and Melon Mambo for today’s color challenge, I knew that I had to create a happy card! And what could be happier than the birth of the newest member of the Schach family? So let’s get the design tips out of the way so I can share the details about our new Boxer baby and give you a sneak peek at just one of the changes that will be occurring next week at Pals Paper Arts.

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips:

  • Let the colors dictate the mood of your card! Happy colors should be used to make happy cards!
  • The odds have it! Threes or fives are more pleasing to the eye…a design basic which has been used by interior designers for years. Three balloons, three bows, three elements on the button…all of these add balance!
  • Canine Couture! Even Scotties love to be well dressed. A few Basic Pearls transform this collar from drab to fab. And notice how many pearls there are…three!
  • Scallops, scallops everywhere! The Scallop Edge Border Punch was used to punch…you guessed it…three borders that compliment the large Scallop Square.
  • Button envy! Two tiny tags welcoming our new addition were punched using the Jewelry Tag punch and spiffied up with a Basic Pearl. These were then threaded onto a safety pin from Vintage Trinkets and adhered to a Daffodil Delight button using a Mini Glue Dot. So easy…and the perfect touch to any baby card!
As I hinted yesterday, I used no spritzing, smooching, distressing, tearing, daubing or…embossing! So, I really felt out of my comfort zone with this card. However, I did use two of my favorite new products: Basic Pearls and Vintage Trinkets! Remember, at the PPA you are welcome to play with any supplies…not just Stampin’ Up! And if you don’t have these same colors…feel free to substitute with similar colors! Come and join in the fun! And speaking of fun…here is a hint at just one of the changes that will be happening at Pals Paper Arts next week. How cool is this!

And Now for My Exciting Baby News:

Many of you were by my side as I shared my sorrow at the passing of my beloved Missy the Boxer. Your words comforted me then, and they still bring me comfort even today. Yes, there are those people who undoubtedly said, “She was just a dog”. These are the same people whose lives have never been touched by the love of “just a dog”. Over the last six months, my family has anguished over the question of whether to bring another baby into our midst. And happily that question has been answered. “Muffin” was born 8-09-10. We have the second female pick of the litter out of five females and three males. While I would have loved a flashy, brindle female…as would the first pick person…there was only one little girl with “bling”. Most of the girls are similar in their markings to their daddy, Ch. Happy Tails Dart Impact. I have “brand-new-just-dried-off” baby pictures to share with you. We have narrowed our choice to these three…one of them will be Muffy the Boxer! We just have to wait to see who is selected first, and then we will have a tough selection to make! Hey…maybe we will just have to adopt both of them. But wait! If odds are better, as we have seen with today’s card, maybe we will have to add a third…right? Even interior designers know that things look better in threes…even Boxers!

I will leave you today with baby pictures. Take a quick peek, then head on over to Pals Paper Arts for more inspiration! Tomorrow: Blog Candy. Until next time…

  1. Ohhhhh those pups are adorable. Very cute blog!!!!!Bev

  2. How adorable!!! The puppies! So, they look pretty young, so you’ll have some time to see their personalities before you make that hard choice?

Oh, your card! You gave me a chuckle! A cute idea for those balloons!

  3. Cute card, I just ordered this set from my demonstrator, can’t wait to play with it. Congratulations on the new puppy. That is so exciting, and also know it is a hard decision after you lose another furry family member. We waited over two years, but am so glad we have a new furry friend to love, so I know you will love your new addition as well.

  4. OMGosh I am SO excited for you!!! I can’t even focus on your adorable card though b/c of those precious little photos. They are so sweet – what a lucky little lady to soon be a part of the Schach pack 🙂 one of these little pups stuck out to me right away, can’t wait to see which one you pick. Congratulations Ann, Missy is flippin out in excitement for you!!

  5. Ann – Congratulations! I bet you can hardly wait for her to be old enough to come home!

  6. Ann congrats to your soon to be new addition to your family! I can’t wait to meet which Muffy you choose. And what an adorable name too. Congrats and love the card as well.

  7. Oh Ann…your card is amazing…as usual…but I have to chat about those baby pictures! They are soooooooooo stinkin’ CUTE! I would have the worst time picking too! I’m so happy for you and your family that your adding a new little one! 🙂 {SMILES}

  8. And They Called It Puppy Love … wow hard decision they are all just adorable! Nothing like a new family member. When is your baby going to come home with you? Thanks for sharing your baby pics … melted my heart! Also, your card is a cutie too!

  9. I have been waiting for you to tell us you were getting a new puppy, so I wasn’t too surprised when you said you were having a baby. Having owned 2 boxers, they ARE more than just a dog. My choice would be the one in the middle. We have always preferred them with very little white on their faces. Good luck with the tough decision. Oh yes, I so enjoy your work.

  10. I am so excited and extremely happy for you Ann…nothing brings more Joy than a baby; puppies included cause it’s family.
I have always been attracted to Labs but these little girls are beautiful. Maybe my next puppy will be a smaller dog. I love the marking of the third puppy but no matter what it will be a difficult descision. I have learned and experienced that a dog loves you more than they love themselves and life is pretty lonely without them.
Ok your card is brilliant…I love it.

  11. Ann, first I have to say that I love your card! After the sneak peek Ihad to check back to see it!

LOVE your baby pics too, I can’t believe we’re not only on the Design Team together but we’re puppy team pals too! Which one to pick, this brings back many recent memories….have fun!

  12. Oh, my heart . . . those babes are beautiful. I vote for all three.

Loved the card . . . especially the trinkets and row of three bows . . . you are such a master of accessorizing. Hugs, M

  13. How wonderful for you. So happy to see you moving forward. Someone, or sometwo, or somethree, will be very happy puppies.

  14. Oh DEFINITELY the middle puppy! She just says “muffin” to me. Give her a little kiss for me! And I’m sure no matter which baby you choose, she will be the perfect one.

  15. Not sure which is cuter – the puppies or the card? So, happy for your decision and I am sure whichever one you decide upon (or more) will be the best! The details on the card are great. Thanks for sharing your news!

  16. OMGosh! Darling boxer baby pics. Reminds me of when our boxers, Harley and Matty, had a litter. From the pictures, I’m partial to the second pup. You’re gonna be blessed regardless.
Here’s a link for a video I shared a while back on my Facebook page. It’s absolutely wonderful and any dog lover will appreciate it.

  18. The babies are so cute. I’m not sure how you’ll be able to pick one, so I’m going with all three. 🙂

My doggy babies are very much a part of our family. In fact, I do believe they think themselves to be human much of the time.

Also, I’m not sure if I’ve ever commented on your site, but your cards are amazing!

  19. That is simply adorable! The card ain’t half bad either! 😉
    Mike

  20. OMgosh, OMgosh, Omgosh! I was going to tell you what an adorable card that is, but after seeing the baby puppy, I have to tell you how adorable she is!!! Ohhh, I just want to kiss her little scrunchy face! Congratulations on being a new mommy again! 😉

    ~Chanda

  21. Congratulations!!! Those puppies are all adorable–it will be a win no matter who Muffin ends up being. 🙂

And, I love that card. What a great idea to tie the baloons to the dogs tail.

    TFS!

  22. No one but a dog lover could understand the flutter you get in your heart when you see new “babies”, especially when you are choosing to bring one home! I wish you all the happiness that Missy brought you and more. Even though nothing will ever replace her, Muffy will help to fill the hole of loss. Congratulations on your new baby girl!

  23. Awwwwwwww…they are all PRECIOUS and what lucky little girls to be the future Muffy the Boxer. I am so happy for you–you do deserve another faithful companion. Oh yeah, there was a card wasn’t there?! It is {almost} as precious as the fur-babies. Love the colors with that little scottie dog. And that little sneak peek is AB FAB!

  24. Ann, the puppies are so precious. I just brought home a seven week old Sheltie and we’re having a ball! Once she finds something to chew on other than my toes, I’ll be very happy. Congrats to your family and the lucky new baby when she joins you.

  25. I love your card and the colors are exciting as the birth of your new little one. My sister just lost her beloved Husky so I know what you are going thru.

  26. Baby number two would definately be my choice. If not her, then #3!
Congratulations on adding a new love to your life. I can’t imagine my life without my pup! (a yorkie)

  27. Ohhh so cute pictures of the babies!!! Your card is just as cute too!!! Hugs,

  28. Your card is wonderful as usual, Ann, but I’m afraid your new baby outshines it! SO SWEET! Congratulations! XOXO

  29. Adorable card – Scotties are so cute – I had one for 15 years! And as for those babies – wow beyond adorable! Oh that little Muffy – whichever one she may be – has no clue what a glorious life she is going to have 🙂

  30. Oops, my comment left without me finishing signing in. The above comment is from Cards by Gina. Sorry about that!

  31. Oh, Ann, your card is wonderful, but those boxer pups are absolutely delightful!!!! Can’t wait to see which one you choose! Please give her a big hug and kiss from me and Tennessee!

  32. Oh, I am so happy for you — it is so nice to hear you are “having a baby” (definitely caught my attention).

  33. Oh Ann, how exciting…congratulations! I know how hard losing Missy was for you and I’m so happy you are adding a precious new little one to your family. All of the pups are adorable and you can’t go wrong no matter which one you choose. I can’t wait to see which lucky pup you adopt.

I am pupsie sitting for my sisters boxer starting today and I can’t wait for that wiggle butt sniffly guy to arrive. They are soooo great.

Oh, and your card is beautiful too – ha ha!

  34. Congrats on your furry new baby! She’ll bring you much joy! Super Cute card too!

  35. What a cute card! Love, love the balloons on the tail. Too cute and colors… wow. I think I might try this challenge.
Congrats on the “baby” too. So happy for you and now you’ll have time to do all those baby things…like potty training. 😎

  36. Oh Ann…….I am so happy for you! And now that you are retired I’m sure this dog will not lack any attention! Love your card and all the little details you added.

  37. Oh, what lovely baby dogs.
I´m happy for you and your family to get a new member in the Schach-family.
Waiting for your exciting news about the baby Boxer.
    Have a nice day
    Conny

  38. Ann,
I love the card! That stamp set is still on my wish list. And of course, the babies are adorable! Wow, 5 females in the litter!! I am so excited for you and your family as you get to welcome your new family member…or members. : )
    Best,
    Angela

  39. What adorable fur-babies! How will you ever leave any of them behind? As for your choice of name, since I have a Molucan Cockatoo named Muffy, I think it’s perfect!! I’m so glad that you have decided to bring some more love and joy into your home with a new puppy ~ what’s a home without a little fur-love?!
BTW, your card is adorable too!
    Hugs,
    Barbara in SC

  40. oooooooooooooooooooh! I would take all three! They are soooooooooo cute!!!! I haven’t written in a long time, but I couldn’t resist saying Congrats on your new Baby! So hard to believe they start out so small, and win our hearts so quickly.
My kids (Bully and a Lab) would love to have a new baby. I have such a hard time not bring home a new playmate for them. I think my Bully would lick the poor thing to death.

Have fun picking out the new Muffy.
Your cards have been so nice too.
    (As always).
    Hugs
    Yvonne

  41. Oh my gosh, Ann! You made me spit out my tea when I reached the part where you said you were having a baby. You certainly did get my attention! These babies are all adorable! I know that I was one who cried when you lost Missy. Now I am one who is doing the happy dance. You inspire me every day with your work. You deserve another beloved companion. The card is just adorable, too! I almost forgot about it after reading the “puppy announcement”. ~ Bonnie~

  42. Love the card! I would have never thought of making a baby card with that set.

I have three very spoiled cats who are definitely not “just cats”, so I know how you feel. I hope you enjoy your new little bundle of joy. They are all ADORABLE!

  43. So happy for you, Ann. The puppies are so cute. It would hard to choose.

I am more of a cat lover myself, but know what you mean about being part of the family. One of my cats is sitting here watching as I check over my email this morning.

    Cute card, too!

  44. Ann,
I am so happy for you and your family.. I am sure Muffy will bring lots of love and laughter to you all. I will have to say you had my attention with your announcement… I had to read it twice before I got to the part about the puppy…lol Your card is so cute. I like how you did the three ribbons.
    hugs
    Darlene-Joy

  45. What adorable little babies!
Sorry for your past loss. I know a pet is not just a dog, he or she is a member of the family and always has a special place in our hearts.

  46. i love the baby dog, so cute !
