The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips:
- Team up sets with a common theme! One of my favorite background stamps, En Francais, was the perfect choice to pair with the “Eiffel Tower” image from the new set, Artistic Etchings. Inking the background with a subtle ink, such as Pale Plum, does not detract from the focal image. “Merci” from Chic Boutique develops the theme even more! Oo la la!
- Cabochons? Oui, s’il vous plait! (Here in Iowa, we refer to them as Half-Back Pearls from the Pretties Kit.) Don’t they add a touch of femininity to the left side of the card? I adhered them quickly and easily with a drop of Crystal Effects.
- Impress your boss with embossing! And how about a wee sneak peek at one of Stampin’ Up!’s two new Textured Impressions Embossing Folders? “Merci” was stamped onto Very Vanilla card stock with Basic Gray ink and then zipped through the Big Shot die cutting machine with my newest acquisition, the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Folder. You know me and embossing folders…can’t live without ’em. And they add texture so quickly!
- Glitz and Glam: I know that some people have kissed the Blarney Stone, but I have “smooched” the Eiffel Tower…with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz. And being the smooching fool that I am, I smooched the background and the Basic Gray Taffeta Ribbon, too. Don’t you love that subtle sparkle?
- And doesn’t Pale Plum look so lovely with textured Going Gray card stock? This has been one of my favorite color combinations…and there is still time to order before it is all gone!

I will miss Nursery Necessities the most. I love making baby cards and use this stamp set on most of them!!
I think the set Voila and Voila to Go. I have made several cards for various occasions using these two sets. It always brings a smile to the recipient. Love your color choices. I think many people overlook grey and its a great color to use.
I’m going to miss Humor in High Heels. I just LOVE shoes.

I think I will miss Boho Backgrounds the most. I love the medallion in that set and that it coordinates with the circle and scalloped circle punches. It can be either masculine or feminine. Of course,I will continue to love it and use it because I’m not a demo:-)

This blog-hop is so fun! I’m glad you posted this question for us too. I realized they wre retiring colors, but I didn’t realize how many stamps were being retired too! I will miss the “Once Upon a Time” stamp set the most. That one was great for my wedding album.
Hmm, I’ll miss Nursery Necesseties because I always admired it but never had a need for it. But one that I have and will miss as a current set is Refuge and Strength. Love that set!

I think the set I will miss most is Embrace Life. I’ve made a lot of cards out of that and as a new demo, I’m disappointed that I won’t be able to do workshops with it.

The set retiring that I will miss the most is “Nursery Necessities” and the Wheel that goes with it. I used that set for more than just Baby cards and the Wheel also. I will keep on using it personally so I really won’t be missing it. I do hope that there are some really good New Baby ones in the New Catty. I really love the color combo that you chose to make your Card out of today, and thanks for sharing the cards that you made with “Spring Song”, which is also another one of my favorites. I am sad that the French Script background stamp is retiring. I love this background stamp and use it a lot. It can be used with the same color as the paper for a subtle effect, or with a stronger contrast to stand out.
Any of the halloween stamps. I being a halloween baby love them all. I also love that blue bird.

Ann, what a fantastic card – ummm didn’t you teach at WBHS – those are BCHS colors! This is one of my favorites of yours but again, I love a lot of your work! Not sure what set I will miss but I do enjoy “warm words” and maybe I had better quick order it so I can use it – at least I don’t think I have that set yet. Anyway, I just love your card!

Love the card….I was at the Eiffel Tower last August! Perfect Plum and Pale Plum have always been two of my favorite colors.

The only retiring set that I have this year is Itty Bitty Backgrounds. I didn’t feel the urge to purchase any other sets. I’m happy with the ones they chose to retire.

My favorite retiring stamp set is Boho Backgrounds. I love the images in that set. With a small background stamp, focal point, and verse it is so versatile.

I think I’ll miss Sprinkles the mini background set. They add such a dimension to a card when stamped in versamark.

Nursery Necessities. Has to obe one of my all time favorite baby sets. You can make such a quick and easy card right before a shower. No coloring needed. I will miss it.
