It’s time for another Pals Paper Arts challenge! This week the design team was asked to create a Fall card using the following picture as our inspiration:
- Prepare a standard card base from Always Artichoke.
- Layer with the Always Artichoke patterned paper from the Autumn Traditions Designer Series Paper collection. Mat onto Really Rust. Adhere to the card base.
- Zip a section of Really Rust paper from Patterns Pack Designer Series Paper III through the Big Shot with the Distressed Texturz Plate. Mat onto Always Artichoke and adhere to the card base. (Note: Patterns Pack Designer Series Paper III is a Hostess Level 1 gift!)
- Zip a strip of More Mustard card stock through the Big Shot with the Distressed Texturz Plate. Mat onto Always Artichoke. Add three Vintage Brads to the left side. Using the Paper Piercer and Template from the Mat Pack, pierce two rows of holes on the right hand side. Cross-stitch with Linen Thread as shown in the photograph. Adhere to the card base using Stampin‘ Dimensionals.
- Ink the “Pumpkin” image from Gifts of the Earth with Chocolate Chip and stamp onto Very Vanilla. Using Blender Pens, color with the following inks: Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, Always Artichoke, Pumpkin Pie, Really Rust, Summer Sun, Elegant Eggplant, Ruby Red, More Mustard, Bordering Blue, Garden Green. Shadow with Sahara Sand.
- Distress the edges using a Sponge Dauber and Close to Cocoa ink. Mat onto Really Rust card stock and pop onto the card base with Stampin‘ Dimensionals.

Ann,
WOW – you have got to teach me how to do that! Are those pastels? I love those kinds of stamps but never know what to do with them. You OBVIOUSLY don’t have that problem.
Gorgeous!
Mike

The adoration is piling up for this card, Ann! And no wonder – it is such a stunner! My favorite detail is the stitching, but your play on the gourd’s texture and the rust colors are also divine. Beautiful work!!
Your card is beautiful. The colors are so rich and I love the layout.
Ann, I admit I peaked early at your creation and I loved the stitching the best! What a great idea. All of the colors you gleaned from the photo look fantastic on this card.

Ann, this is beautiful. I looked at the pic and wondered what people would do…I knew I could count on you making it gorgeous. I love how you use bold colored background and integrate the softness of your magic touch with the stamp. A great pleasure to visit your creative talent always. xox
What can I possibly say that I haven’t already–your card is stunning from the stamping and coloring to the layering to the stitching to the colors to the textures! Absolutely amazing!

You are the master of fall cards – beautiful with every touch from the coloring to the stitching to the layers……love every bit of it!
You did it again!!! :0
AWESOME card! love how you used the colors… thanks for your tips!!!
So lovely, Ann! It’s just perfect for the inspiration theme.
You always have an uncanny way of taking the PPA challenge to new limits by accentuating on the undramatic of the original picture. I love how you brought out the rust tones when the original screams artichoke all over it! A stunning card that definitely showcases the lesser colors in the original.
Oh My Ann! That card is so beautiful! I love the way you did the fibers and brads on the sides! I love your site! I can’t each day to say what you have come up with! You are such a talented lady! I love your creativity! I wish you could come visit me! LOL! TFS!
Great coloring Ann! The fibers on the side are neat. Very clever way to add it!!!
