Crazy Weave

If you have been wanting to see all of the new In-Colors used on the same card, then this is your lucky day! The horizontal stripes are, from top to bottom, Dusty Durango, Soft Suede, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Bahama Bay, and Rich Razzleberry. The weaving technique is quick, easy and fun! And just to show you how versatile the new In-Color Ribbon is, I have included a second photo at the end of today’s recipe to show you the same card and the flip side of the Dusty Durango ribbon. Oh…the stamp is from Circle Circus!
  • Prepare a standard card base from Basic Black.
  • Cut two 1/2″ strips of each of the new In-Colors. Lay out the horizontal strips, and then begin weaving in the vertical strips. As you weave, continue to push in place. Once the woven mat is complete, adhere to card stock and trim to size.
  • Mat onto Whisper White and adhere to the card base.
  • Dusty Durango Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon is adhered to the card base as shown.
  • Ink the Circle Circle stamp with Basic Black and stamp onto Whisper White. Punch using the 1-1/4″ Circle Punch. Color using the new In-Color Stampin’ Write Markers. Mat onto a Melon Mambo circle scallop (prepared by using a small Nestabilities scallop circle die and the Big Shot). This is then popped onto a Bahama Bay scallop circle which was punched with the Scallop Circle Punch. Position and attach on top of the ribbon.
My husband actually selected the ribbon color and wanted it to be adhered Polka Dot side showing. I was actually leaning toward the solid side, but now I think he may be on to something. So we have decided to have a little fun. In your comments today, please leave a little blurb and let us know which you like best: Solid or Polka Dots!
Please feel free to leave me a comment. I would love to hear from you! Until next time…
