Gift bags are a snap with the Sizzix Big Shot and “Bag with Scallops” Bigz XL die! Add “To the Nines” Specialty Designer Series Paper and you’ll have a true “Designer Bag”. This little charmer is sweetly Victorian and draws us back to a gentler era…
- Using the Bag with Scallop die, run the “Sage Shadow Herringbone Dot” paper through the Big Shot. Tip: Since I wanted a two-color bag, I placed my paper only over the body of the die. “To the Nines” Designer Paper is a slightly heavier card stock which is just perfect for making gift bags and boxes.
- Next, run the die through the Big Shot again, but this time place “Chocolate Chip Paisley” paper over the section of the die which contains the sides of the bag. Tip: For a “ta-da” factor, I also cut the scalloped top of the bag using a small piece of Chocolate Chip Paisley so that I would have a layered effect.
- Assemble the bag using Sticky Strip adhesive. Tip: This adhesive is double sided and extra-tacky, and perfect for three-dimensional items.
- Punch a strip of Chocolate Chip Paisley using the Eyelet Border Punch and adhere to the bag with SNAIL Adhesive.
- As a final touch, a button from the Button Latte collection was “tied” to the bag using Chocolate Chip Paisley “string”. Tip: Don’t throw those scraps away…small strips of scrap paper can be used as string and ribbon!
Design Tip of the Day: Select your Designer Series Paper to reflect the feeling that you want your bag to convey. This Victorian Charmer was designed as a gift bag for a friend who loves antiques. It held an antique brooch, and was just perfect for the occasion. A switch to “Rockabilly” and you have a bag fit for a “tween”! There are so many choices, and with Stampin‘ Up!s newest promotion, you have the opportunity to stock up on Designer Series Paper. Hi Ann,
This is a real WoW! Now I really have to get some of this paper. Funny thing…just looking at this project makes me hungry for mint chocolate of some yummy kind. I’m thinking subliminal persuasion of some kind must have been built into this paper or the color combo or even your blog waves…Hmmmm…on the other hand maybe I just have a very specific sweet tooth – LoL!
Thanks for sharing – Jean
Ann, so fun and beautiful!
This is wonderful! I love all the extra details!
My first thought was “where did she get the adorable paper?” Then I realized I didn’t own the To the Nines paper. It looks almost turn of the century … perfect with the eyelet border. Nice, nice. Hugs, M
I love that paper! Cute project!
