As I have mentioned many times before, I love Designer Series Paper and the Butterfly stamp from the “Occasions Mini” Great Friend set. Tea Party Designer Series Paper provided wonderful spring colors to compliment the bevy of butterflies on this card. Of course, now is the time to stock up on Designer Series Paper and 12″ x 12″ Textured Card Stock during Stampin’ Up!s “Buy Three, Get 1 Free” promotion. This card can be made in a flash, and features the Big Shot and Texturz Dies.
- Make a card base from Barely Banana card stock and run it through the Big Shot using the Large Dot plate from Stampin’ Up! Backgrounds I.
- Using Almost Amethyst card stock, punch an Eyelet Border strip approximately 2″ wide. Tip: Cut the strip about 1/2″ wider, as you will lose some width with this punch.
- Add a 1-1/2″ strip of Small Yellow Floral paper from the Tea Party Designer Series Paper.
- Layer Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink Ribbons across the front of the card as seen in the picture.
- Stamp three butterflies using the Butterfly image from the Great Friend stamp set, using Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, and Almost Amethyst ink on Very Vanilla card stock. Cut out using Paper Snips. Tip: Stampin’ Up!s Paper Snips are excellent for cutting out even the most intricate designs!
- Scatter the butterflies across the surface of the card using Mini Glue Dots. Add a few rhinestones down the center of each butterfly for just the right touch of sparkle!
- Welcome to my Tea Party!
Design Note: This card is pretty even without the ribbon and butterflies. Just select your favorite Designer Series Paper, and use the coordinating card stock! It only takes seconds to zip the paper through the Big Shot using the Texturz Plate of your choice.
