“Music Expressions” was one of the first Stampin’ Up! sets I purchased. It is a classically elegant stamp, and I especially loved the accompanying sentiment by Victor Hugo…”Music expresses that which cannot be said”. As the mother of a classical trumpet player, the sentiment was especially poignant. I felt that this would be the perfect choice for the Splitcoast Sketch Challenge 224. This is how I “expressed” myself:
- I made my card base from Kraft card stock on which I layered “Bleu” paper from the Bella Bleu Designer Series Paper, leaving 1/4th of an inch border on all four sides.
- I then matted two 1” strips of contrasting Bella Bleu neutrals onto Not Quite Navy card stock, trimming to 1/16th of an inch. I placed Very Vanilla ribbon down the center of each strip, and adhered the matted strips onto my card base.
- I inked the “Violin” stamp with Basic Brown, and matted this onto Not Quite Navy cardstock. This focal image was adhered to the card base with SNAIL adhesive.
- As a finishing touch, filigree and dragonfly brads were attached to add depth.
