The Stamp Review Crew: Painted Harvest Edition

Stamp Review Crew Painted HarvestIt’s time for the Stamp Review Crew: Painted Harvest edition!   If this is your very first visit to one of our hops, The Stamp Review Crew is a group of international Stampin’ Up! demonstrators whose mission is to do a blog hop on the first, third and fifth Mondays of each month.  Our hops are unique because each of us features the same stamp set used in a variety of ways, giving you loads of inspiration for that set! The hops are archived at the Stamp Review Crew blog. You will be able to click through each hop at any time, going directly to the posts for that hop whenever you want! This week we are featuring the Painted Harvest stamp set. I am Stop #18 on the hop. If you are following along in order, you just arrived from Stop #17: Nikki Spencer.  Isn’t she fabulous?  I love her creations.  After visiting me, you will continue to Stop #19, the incomparable Kelly Kent!  As always, Kelly has rocked this set!  You will love what she has in store for us! Enjoy this week’s hop!

The Stamp Review Crew: Painted Harvest Edition

Stamp Review Crew: Painted Harvest EditionFor today’s card, I wanted to depart from the traditional fall colors that are usually associated with the Painted Harvest set.  While I wanted to create a monochromatic card in shades of gray, that was just a little TOO gray for me.  I added a touch of Soft Sky to break it up a little.  I used a sentiment from the Layering Love set, instead from the set we are featuring.  I have a specific purpose for creating this card, and this sentiment was perfect.  You’ll learn where this card is heading in about 4 more weeks. (Wink!Wink!)

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

This card measures 4-1/4″ wide x 5-1/2″ tall when folded.

Don’t ask me why I was so infatuated with gray this week!  We have Basic gray leaves…

a Smoky Slate bow…

and I even created my own silvery gray metallic trim.

How you ask?  I just coated 1/4″ Copper Trim with VersaMark ink, and heat embossed it with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

Of course, the Painted Harvest set comes with its own sentiments, but I needed one that expressed a different thought.  I reached for the Layering Love set to come up with this one, which I accented with a little Powder Pink heart.

Stamp Review Crew: Painted HarvestIsn’t it amazing how the choice of colors and different sentiment gives this set an entirely different vibe?  I hope you enjoyed today’s card.  Won’t you let me know in your comment?  Of course, if you ever have a question about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away.  Now hop along to Stop #21,  Kelly Kent, to see what she has in store for you!  If you get lost along the way, you can find a list of all the hoppers at The Stamp Review Crew.
