The Stamp Review Crew: Beautiful You Edition

Stamp Review Crew BannerIt’s time for another round of inspiration from The Stamp Review Crew. If this is your very first visit to one of our hops, we are a group of international Stampin’ Up! demonstrators whose mission is to do a blog hop on the first and third Mondays of each month. Our hops are unique because each of us features the same stamp set used in a variety of ways. This week we are featuring the Beautiful You stamp set. I am #12 on the hop. You may have just left Stop #11, Yapha Mason!  I absolutely adore Yapha and her work.  After visiting me, you will continue to Stop #13, Holly Stene.  You will love what she has in store for us!  Enjoy today’s hop!

Beautiful You

The Stamp Review Crew Beautiful You

One of the endearing things about Beautiful You is not only the classic, somewhat retro line drawings, but also the fabulous sentiments.  As someone who taught young women to go forth and follow their dreams, I was compelled to purchase this set.  I will admit, I really had a difficult time coming up with a novel idea for this set, so instead I concentrated on the messages of the sentiments.  LAUGH out loud. LOVE deeply.  BE the ONE who stands out in a gray cookie cutter world.   LIVE with passion and lead the way!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This card measures 5-1/2″ wide by 4-1/4″ tall when folded.

The first thing I did was to create a two masks by stamping onto scratch paper.  I coated this with Multipurpose Adhesive and allowed the glue to dry in order to create a repositionable bond.

Turning my attention to the card, I stamped the girls in the order shown.

The Stamp Review Crew: Beautiful You#1 and #2 were masked, while #3 and #4 were stamped.  #3 and #4 were masked while #5 as stamped. All images were stamped in Basic Black Archival ink and colored using Aqua Painters and inks.

The Stamp Review Crew: Beautiful YouPowder Pink graces the legs and neck, while Smoky Slate and Real Red were used for dresses and umbrellas. Soft Sky was used to outline everything.

The sentiment was selectively inked using markers, and punched out with the Classic Label Punch. Notice how it covers the smudged scribbles under the feet of girl #3.  Wink! Wink!

Here is another Beautiful You card I created using one of the other images in this set:
