An Any Occasion Friendship Card with Tutorial

Any Occasion Friendship CardI just love it when I can play along with my two favorite challenges using the same card! Sandy at The Paper Players is challenging us to “Cut It Out!” (dies, punches, fussy cutting, etc.), while Jen Mitchell at Freshly Made Sketches has a stunner of a sketch for us.  In fact, you’ll see me using this sketch again with my next card.  That’s how awesome this sketch is! I hope you enjoy today’s friendship card…with it’s step-by-step tutorial!

  5. Using the Fine Tip Glue Pen, glue the Basic Black die cut to a piece of Whisper White card stock. Trim around the outside.  Glue the Crushed Curry petals, Basic Black center, and Always Artichoke leaves and stem into position.
  6. “Pop up” the inlaid flower on the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Embellish the center with a Metal Rimmed Pearl.

Friendship Card Created with the Daisy Timeless Tag

How easy is that! And this inlaid flower works perfectly with this sketch.  This card is easy to change up, too, simply by changing out the paper.  As for me, I challenged myself to use this fun paper with a somewhat masculine vibe just to see how it would look with a flower. I can always use friendship cards.  Nothing compares to receiving a surprise friendship card in the mail.

As always, if you have any questions about the cards I create, or the techniques I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…

  5. I specifically wanted this die set because of the daisy…for all my gal pals–plan to get kinda frilly with it. Now you’ve made me see that a strong, handsome, masculine vibe is awesome, too! Great card, and thanks for the deets on how to put it together so quickly and easily.

  6. Gorgeous Ann – I love the way you used that paper on the central panel for a non-masculine card, it pairs with your inlaid daisy perfectly! Thanks for joining us over at The Paper Players this week – always nice to see you!

Thought of you Ann, the other day, when TV viewing the Boxers in the Sporting Division at the Westminster Dog Show. Or were the Boxers in the Working Division? Anyway, those are the two divisions I MUST watch every year.
Keep up your creative spirit Ann,
    Loralee Parish

  11. Your cards NEVER disappoint Ann! I love it! I LOVE that Timeless Tag thinlit that you used and added your signature to it . . . a pearl but just just a pearl but a Metal Rimmed Pearl! Any “friend” would LOVE to receive your beautiful card!

  12. Beautiful! I love everything about this card. And, you are right, surprise cards rule!

Love it! I really like black with the crushed curry. Gee, I wonder shy as I am sitting here with a Hawkeye sweatshirt on. That DSP is a great pack of paper too. Did you happen to see Jeanie Sharp’s version of that inlaid flower on Mary’s Sunday blog post a couple of weeks ago? It was a beauty too. I really like all the fun layers too. Well done my friend!
