Can you believe it has been over a year since I have said, “It’s time for another round of inspiration from The Stamp Review Crew“?  But I am happy to say, it’s great to be back! What a fun hop we have planned for you!  This week we are featuring items from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure, which you can get for FREE with a $50 USD purchase (before tax and shipping).  If this is your very first visit to a Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop, we are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators whose mission is to do a blog hop on the first and third Mondays of each month. I know you will love seeing a variety of Sale-A-Bration items and the versatile and amazing things you can create with these products. I am Stop #24 on the hop. You may have just left Stop #23: the talented Charlet Mallet. Enjoy today’s hop!

Hey, Chick!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This card measures 4-1/4″ wide x 5-1/2″ tall when folded.

  • Photobomber! With the exception of the crazy mop-top photobomber, this family of chickens was paper pieced using patterns from the Carried Away Designer Series Paper Collection, a Sale-A-Bration freebie! While one side features patterns that coordinate with the Lift Me Up Bundle from the Occasions Catalog, the other side has patterns perfect for decking out chickens! Of course, the adorable Hey, Chick stamp set is also one of the available SAB choices.

  • Chicken wire! Settle down with a good movie and get ready to put those Paper Snips to work if you don’t want your chickens to fly the coop.  I brayered Archival Basic Black ink onto the  Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and ran it through the Big Shot to create the illusion of chicken wire.  I then snipped out the middles of the hexagons and brayered the “wire” with Smoky Slate ink.  It’s a lot of snipping for sure, but the effect is oh, so cute!

  • Another view! Rather than using glue, I simply stapled my wire in place, and then cut out the section which was over the chickens.  The Speckles image from Glorious Grunge was used to add some gravel.

Here is another card I created earlier which features the Hey, Chick stamp set.  It was too cute not to showcase it again.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card made with this adorable Sale-A-Bration set.  Won’t you let me know in your  comment today?  Of course, if you ever have a question about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away.  Now hop along to Stop #25, the incomparable Bruno Bertucci!  I guarantee you will not be disappointed with what he has in store for you!  If you get lost along the way, you can find a list of all the hoppers at The Stamp Review Crew.  Until next time…

  27. Fabulous card, Ann; love the chicken wire! Patience Ann or Ann Patience? Is Patience your first or middle name! So worth the time though! The added dimension just pops the card!

  28. Chris R. from Iowa

Are these cards adorable or what? Phyllis with the mop of hair is so sweet! Love the wire treatment too. Love the paper piecing. A whole lot of cackling going on! Love the cards! There is a house down a block who has a rooster and some chickens. Not sure how they get by with that but what can I saw. We used to hear the rooster crow on our walks but not since cold weather.

  29. Ann, these are adorable! Your sense of humor shines through on these. But where are the pearls? Have you made artificial oysters an endangered species?! Is this REALLY Ann? Who are you?!?!?

  30. Oh Ann, I have always known you enjoyed fussy cutting but there is no way I could ever do the fussy cutting you did on this card. Having said that, this is exactly why you are the master of card making and why I love every single card you make. This is the best card I have seen using this SAB stamp set! LOVE it!

  31. Ann, your chicken wire is just adorable! Love the paper piecing for the chickens.

  32. Love this chicken wire idea…always love everything you post!

  33. Ann this is absolutely adorable! Don’t you just love the Hey Chick set. It’s my FAV from SAB… so darn cute! Love that photo bomber’s hair! Hiilarious… I’ve used this set so many times already.
BUT… your chicken wire is amazing for sure. Now I have a background chicken wire stamp that I Love, but fussy cutting all that! Holy Moly. I’m wondering if you could shim the paper until it’s so tight in the BS that is “cuts” through?t Hmmmm
Both your cards are amazingly cute!
    Hugs to Brody too

  34. MsAnn we sure miss you and your picture of your baby’s and and your beautiful projects, welcome back my friend

  41. So cute, Ann. I will have to try it. Love it with all the “fussy cutting”. Miss you posting more often but understand. Your cards are always the BEST. Thanks Ann.

  42. The idea to use the embossing folder to make chicken wire is so very clever! I would make this for my favorite people, as it would take a bit more time than a normal card. However, they are worth it! Thanks for sharing, Ann.

  43. Your cards are fabulous, I have yet to get this set and it sure is fun and popular with other demos! And the colors are great as well! Yes, a Lot od snipping and I am not a fussy cutter but have a good friend who use!!! Have a very good weekend!

    How is Brody doing?

    Diane Gil

  45. Oh, the snipping you did but what a wonderful effect, the chicken wire is so wonderful! So are your paper snipped chickens who look like they make an escape through that hole in the fence!

  46. Yikes that is a lot of snipping! But the result is fabulous! I adore this! Amazingly creative!

  47. Oh! My! Ann! That’s an awful lot of snipping!!! However, you are correct, it sure adds a cuteness factor! Your cards are adorable!

  48. Girl…that chicken wire is genius! Of course if you had kept your chicken wire background stamp from eons ago, you wouldn’t have to do all that snipping! Love the card Ann!…B!
