It’s time for another round of inspiration from The Stamp Review Crew. If this is your very first visit, we are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators whose mission is to do a blog hop on the first and third Mondays of each month. Our hops are unique because each of us features the same stamp set. But this week is different…we are having a Valentine “Free for All”, where we are featuring ANY current stamp set that is “Valentine-able”. You may have just left Stop #1: the talented Heidi Baks. Her work always blows me away. I am Stop #2 on the hop. I will be featuring two new projects today, one which I designed for my husband, Kim, and one which I created for my son, Brady. Enjoy!
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
Card #1: Super Quick and Easy
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.
- Hearts a-plenty! The new Happy Heart Textured Impressions Embossing Folder creates the perfect background for a Valentine, don’t you think? This panel is 5 hearts x 6 hearts, and is matted on Cherry Cobbler cardstock.
- Butterfly! A Cherry Cobbler butterfly has found a permanent home in the center of the embossed square. This beauty was made using the new Butterflies Thinlits dies. A small black heart, courtesy of the Owl Builder Punch, adds a touch of romance, while a single rhinestone adds the perfect touch of bling.
- Love! The Love sentiment, from Hello Life, provides the perfect sentiment, don’t you think? I love the flourishes at the beginning and the end of the word.
Project #2: Mini-treat Bag with Tag
- Mini Treat Bag! What better hideaway for a gift card and a Valentine tag than a Mini Treat Bag created with the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits die! This one was made using Kraft cardstock and the Stacked Logs pattern from Adventure Abounds Paper Stack. A Burlap Ribbon banner adds texture, while a Kraft heart accents the sentiment.
- Blendabilities to the rescue! The Lumberjack image was inked in Tuxedo Black Memento, and stamped onto Whisper White cardstock. Real Red ink was used to color his shirt, using the image provided in the set for that purpose. Then it was Blendabilities to the rescue! These alcohol markers are so much fun to use, and they provide streak-free coverage.
Isn’t this just the cutest Lumberjack ever? When my son, Brady, saw the Occasions Catalog, Wood You Be Mine was one of the first sets to catch his eye. It only seemed appropriate to make his Valentine with it. And the nice thing is this entire tag and bag will slide into an envelope for easy mailing. I’ll just flatten the paper bow, and it will still be adorable!
You might have noticed I like using butterflies with the word “love”. Here is a card from my archives featuring the Swallowtail image. It could be easily updated with sentiments from the Hello Life set:

I made the beautiful butterfly card here today – thank you for all the tips and instructions! I just want to point out (so others don’t make the same mistake that I did) that the heart panel is actually 5 by 6 and not 5 by 5 as stated. 🙂

Hi Ann! Oh your butterfly cards are just gorgeous! The first one really is striking. The cherry cobbler color is so unusual, as far as butterflies go, but looks so bright and cheery. What a perfect cas design! Love it with the new embossing folder too. Such a fun lumberjack treat bag and I’m sure Brady will just love his goodies. You always make me want new stamp sets and goodies from the catty! ; )

The detail on the pull-out lumberjack tag is really inspiring. I always find many things that I love in your projeccts!
The card? Beautiful. The lumber jack mini treat bag? So stinkin’ cute! Okay, so perhaps many lumberjacks don’t want something “cute”, but oh my is that ever fun!
The butterfly on the heart-embossed background along with the simple Love sentiment make a pretty and elegant card. I can just picture Brady’s excitement when he receives his lumberjack Valentine!
I love the butterfly with the hearts EF – some people have just put too much on the card and it takes away from the gorgeous butterfly. I love the embossing with it. Well done! Of course the other butterfly is gorgeous too. But, the woodsman or lumberjack treat bag and gift card holder made me smile. So much fun! Just so different in projects!

LOVE the Butterfly paired with the Happy Heart EF with the ever gorgeous Cherry Cobbler! The new “love” is done in such a great font. The black heart and rhinestone are the perfect finishing touch! And the poor lumberjack peeking hopefully from behind the wood pile he has worked his heart out on all day for you! Who could not love this??
