Soft Summer

I have always preferred earthier tones. I attribute this to the fact that I am the mother of a son. Pink and yellow just did not work for masculine scrapbook pages that boldly touted his prowess on the football field or on the basketball court. For creative survival I learned to love “all colors masculine”. Lately, however, I have been attracted to the colors of spring—pinks and greens and yellows…yummy sorbet and sherbet colors. With that in mind, I decided to try out the Soft Summer set from the Occasions Mini Catalog. Soft Summer is designed for Two Step Stampin’, but I like how this particular stamp looks when colored with pastels and blender pens!
  • Stamp the image on Very Vanilla card stock using Always Artichoke and Regal Rose Stampin’ Writers.
  • Color in the images using Pretty in Pink and Yellow Moss Stampin’ Pastels with Blender Pens.
  • Triple mat using Always Artichoke, Pink Pirouette, and Very Vanilla card stocks. The Corner Rounder punch added softness to the corners of the Always Artichoke and Pink Pirouette papers. A ticket punch was used to add interest to the Very Vanilla.
  • Two Pink Pirouette strips were “stitched” with a Regal Rose Stampin’ Writer and added to the So Saffron card base.
  • Chocolate Chip ribbon was placed over the Pink Pirouette paper strips.
  • The triple matted image was then adhered in place on the So Saffron cardstock
  • As a finishing touch, two half pearls from the Pretties Kit served as centers for the flowers.

Delicate…Yes! Feminine…Yes! Suitable for Football layouts…Hmmmm! I’ll have to ask my son about that one!
